The defense is missing an emotional leader
AmishRifle replied to Sharky7337's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Some general thoughts on this thread: Agree that we seem to be missing something intangible this year...perhaps an emotional leader. Edmunds doesn’t strike me as a rah rah type...more of a lead by example type. I read a previous thread that posted snap counts that we pretty much stayed nickel the entire game. This coupled with the way McVey stretches the field sideline to sideline with his scheme could explain why our defense was gassed the second half. Lastly, after rewatching the game, there were several runs in the second half that were attributed to gap integrity and plain poor tackling. Several runs saw our safeties miss tackles or be out of position on gap responsibilities. While Edmunds does get caught in the wash sometimes, I think he shouldn’t be singled out as the root cause of our poor rush defense in the 2nd half. -
Postgame Thread Bills vs Rams
AmishRifle replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just for some perspective: Isn’t it great they we are talking about NFL football! No one could tell you a month ago that we’d absolutely have 3 weeks of football in the books. Add to that, the Bills are 3-0 with Josh Allen straight up balling. C’mon, where else would you rather be than right here, right now!! -

Anybody surprised at the lack of running thus far?

The drops by Knox have to stop! I had TE envy watching Gisecki slice our D up. His contested catch in the end zone on Tre was a thing of beauty. -
Never understood the hire. But, Jerry is gonna Jerry. Fun fact: Jerry’s first name is actually Jerral.

Agree with you as I just rewatched the Dolphin’s game. Fitz picked on Wallace the whole game and targeted the hash marks with his throws. Question for the board: What are the responsibilities of our MLB and OLB Schematically for our defense? It seemed like the Dolphins were using play action to draw the linebackers up and then Fitz would throw behind them. Additionally, I’d like to point out that they successfully targeted White too on a few plays. Maybe Fitz was just on but it seemed like they were attacking our defensive scheme with the gameplan.

Week 2 Bills @ Dolphins Postgame Thread
AmishRifle replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I see the same trend as well. What the hell happens at halftime where they seem to sleepwalk through the 3rd Qtr? I don’t know if it’s an adjustment thing or a halftime routine thing. Something has to change though....just make sure we don’t impact the W at the end! -

Game Day baby! Let’s Go!! -
I’m an Allen fan. Only thing I could think of: He left 13.3% on the table???? He really did show an increase in accuracy and better decision making in Game 1. Opposing defensive players, like Van Noy, see it and vocalize it. Allen will continue to improve this year. My biggest criticism from Game 1 is the lack of ball security on the two fumbles. Cost the team points.

What does Darnold's performance say about Jordan Palmer?
AmishRifle replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the one thing missing from this discussion is the impact our defensive gameplan had on Darnold. I felt like we were very aggressive and brought an extra defender or two on the pass rush more often than usual. The gameplan forced Darnold to move and throw incompletions or lower percentage passes. Our defensive gameplan forced Darnold to make the bad throws and improper mechanics because he felt the pressure. Our defense was the root cause of his issues on Sunday. -
Go Bills! Hats off to the NFL for getting us here.

Agree Gunner. I think Kenny Loggins is serenading DiMarco with Danger Zone at this point! -
Does anybody know what and the extent Dimarco’s injury? It’s weird because he’s not listed on CBS or ESPN injury reports for training camp while they clearly list Feliciano.

Bills expected to re-sign RB Antonio Williams
AmishRifle replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We were getting short on players named Williams. Had to restock!! -
Perhaps they made it public since they have no intention of ever running that during the season! I wish they would run more screen game. I don’t think we’ve had a decent screen game since Gailey.
