  1. Kiko was too small to play a traditional MLB. He was taking bad angles and getting pushed back quite a bit at the end of last season. Spikes is an upgrade in the base defense. A healthy Kiko still plays middle LB in the nickel. Sounds like Spikes is not the jerk Fitz made him out to be. If he is back it will be at a low cost. Very few even moderately paid one or two down LB's in this league.
  2. This group of WR's is supposed to be good at downfield blocking. In today's NFL even Peyton throws three or more WR screens a game. It is the new running game. Also Nate's father helped perfect the FB flat pass which is good for 5 yards every time. Sometimes the game is really as easy as Madden makes it out to be. Just watch the other games. Teams successfully run out of shotgun all the time. They spread the ball out to their playmakers. The players know how to run these plays. They have been doing it since HS. They know how to sneak through small cracks and beat small DB's - after which there is a lot of room to run. But we know nothing and we never will.....
  3. My only complaint with Schwartz was against Brady. The only way to beat him is pressure. They should have unleashed hell on him. Same thing with Peyton. I am not sure what the hell to do to stop Rodgers. Almost everyone else it is ok to drop 7 or 8 and wait for the mistake.
  4. Only the QB's are in the discussion Gates will make HOF but not GOAT. Megatron needs another decade to even get close to Rice and that is in a different era.
  5. They have no weapons on offense. Don't get cute this week and decide to blitz Geno. Make him throw into 7 and 8 man coverages. Spikes should get plenty of field time as even he can stay with their TE's. Our line is awful and I don't think Orton makes it to the end of the game. I fear a lack of a running game and some ill timed sacks will put the offense in bad situations. As I posted elsewhere I would spread them out and go four and five wide with Chandler. Lee Smith should never see the field unless the Bills are up by three scores. I don't think the Bills can pass protect even if they go max protect. Therefore I think the best way to beat the rush is a very quick passing game. Let Orton do what he does best, make decent decisions pre-snap and find their weakness. Rex will counter with exotic blitzes. Lastly run no-huddle. Best way to beat a d-line is tire them out. They can't pass rush when they are breathing hard.
  6. Or EJ tosses an 80 yard TD pass but I do agree with those who say Orton has involved the WR's more.
  7. My god I forgot just how bad they have been. How would you attack them and keep Orton upright? Agree they went for broke and are only a couple weeks away from letting Rex go. Don't see Harvin changing that but I could be wrong.
  8. Someone please call Chan Gailey. They need to go four and five wide all game and throw it quick. Their D-line will sack Orton 8 times if they call a traditional game. They need multiple WR and TE screens to the wide side of the field. Don't let their D-line get back in the play. I think this is the week a reverse or two should be called. Even a WR sweep to get outside the d-line quickly. On defense, status quo. Geno will beat himself. Rush three and four. They don't have any weapons even with Harvin. Geno can move and if they lose contain could hurt you. Drop 7 or 8. A well timed nickel DB blitz from the blindside with a LB or DE dropping into zone could cause some havoc. Otherwise just keep everything in front of you and wait for the Geno mistake.
  9. Graham gets his fair share of snaps and has been just as good/bad as the other two. I don't understand why the board frets so much about the DB play. First of all A. Williams is the most important secondary player. Second the D-line has not looked good two games in a row. But I would worry most about a general lack of aggression from Schwartz.
  10. The OP conveniently forgot the 13 sacks and two lost fumbles. If Sammy doesn't make an amazing catch on a horribly thrown ball they are 1-2 with Orton. I think EJ gives them a better chance to win against the Jets with this dumpster fire of an offensive line. If the line plays better and gives Orton time to throw, I agree he probably gives the Bills a better chance to win consistently this year. But to say the QB play is much better with Orton is simply not true. Accuracy much better. Completion percentage better. YPA a little better. Sacks much worse. Turnovers worse.
  11. I will say Orton sucks. He has cost the team more points than he has produced. If the Jets game was a home game I would start EJ. I think it is very likely EJ plays next week either due to injury or bad play. It is not all Orton's fault. A better offensive line would let him use his experience and better overall accuracy. But with this line he is a tragedy. With this line they need athleticism from the QB spot.
  12. If your arm is smaller than Jeff Tuel's you are not a NFL QB...
  13. http://www.si.com/nfl/2014/10/19/ray-rice-suspension-appeal-nfl-status
  14. Why not keep him on the roster? They have carried four RB's all year and just sat one. If there is any chance he could be back it doesn't hurt to keep him on roster. Now if I were CJ I wouldn't take another snap this year. I would go sign a one year deal to play in San Diego or Seattle. Then try to get one last big signing bonus.
  15. Enough. Put EJ in. Or better yet just lose the next two and end the Marrone/Hackett era.
  16. Gilmore is fine. Every DB gets beat in this league. The long pass was Graham's fault not Gilmore's. Graham got sucked up and Brady beat him over the top on a post. Not sure why this board has been crazy about the DB play. It has not been outstanding but it has been fine. The D-line and lack of blitzing cost them the Pats game. The QB, guard, RB, and TE play is far worse.
  17. If Harvin is worth a mid-round pick, maybe Spiller can net the Bills a middle of the road guard
  18. No it wouldn't. Just cap the number of challenges no matter if they are won or lost. Coaches won't be challenging five yard offsides penalties in the first quarter, but a 45 yard BS PI call in the second quarter could be challenged, or a drive killing holding penalty.
