  1. Orton is crap. If Watkins doesn't make a miracle catch against Detroit he may have lost his job after the Patriots game. He is what we knew he was - a capable backup. One more loss and there is no reason not to go back to EJ.
  2. Lee Smith gets a game day roster spot over Mike Williams. Marrone and Hackett going with three TE sets. That is great if it is 1970 or two of the TE's could pass for decent WR's. All three of the TE's block for **** and there is no other team in the league that Lee Smith would make.
  3. Well I was going to say when was the lsat time the Patriots lost 3 out of six games. Turns out it has happened three times since 2009. In the early or mid part of the season. Not when it starts to turn cold. I don't think it happens and I don't think the Bills win at NE with the division on the line. But that would be one hell of a way to break the playoff drought.
  4. He had one good game. Otherwise he hasn't even been average.
  5. Analytics says do what the Patriots do. They run a QB sneak in almost every third or fourth and inches. Brady converts almost every time. A quick snap there and Orton gets the first down. Bad choice by Marrone. Orton blew it on the last drive. He missed a wide open Hogan and predetermined he was throwing to Watkins on the fourth down when he had Chandler open for a first down. Hard to fault Hackett if on two of the four plays all his QB needs to do is deliver an accurate ball. That is what Orton is supposed to be able to do. But he because he is an above average back-up QB he wet himself when it mattered most.
  6. That's the point. It's a crap shoot. You increase your odds with more picks.
  7. There are some rules to live by in life. One is don't trade up. You shoudl only move down and get more draft picks. Nothing wrong with taking a WR high or any position in my opinion. Talented players are needed everywhere. That is the my point though. The Bills need more talented players in lots of places. Never trade up. The draft is a total crap shoot and then add the injury issue. Draft more guys and then maybe you don't have the worst collection of TE's and guards in the NFL. They finally improved the overall LB play but half of those guys are/were FA's. Brown and Bradham are great examples of getting a quality contributors later in the draft. Trade down. Don't give up multiple picks for a single guy.
  8. The sanity is realizing Orton is not any good. The defense is good enough to make a deep playoff run. It is now going on a full decade with no answer at QB or even to play offense of any kind at a high level for more than a few games. This team is deeply flawed from the top down. Watch Seattle. They ran read option all day against the Giants and Russel Wilson ran to keep the defense honest. Ej should have ran more but everyone beat him up for getting hit too much. Now we switch to Orton and throw fourty times a game with a line that can't pass block. They finally break thorugh with a very good rushing game and then throw the ball four times inside the 20. How sane is it to think the Bills could win on the road at New England if the division were up for grabs? The season is over. There only shot was to win four in a row. There is a good chance we watch Cleveland in the playoffs while scouting second round talent in the Bowl games.
  9. Chandler was in a tough spot because if he falls on it he probably lands out of the endzone. I hate defending such a mediocre player but not much he could do. Plus the ball would have gone back to the three yard line as I don't think a different player can recover a ball fumbled forward. Is it really only those situations? i thought it was all the time that a fumble that goes forward must be recovered by the fumbling player or it goes back to the spot of the fumble?
  10. He was terrible against Detroit and New England as well. He played great against the Jets and mediocre against Minnesota.
  11. DB's get beat in this league. Why is that such a difficult concept for this board to grasp? Lee Smith is awful in every way. He is only frustrating because he is on the field in a uniform and not carrying water. How Marrone can have three TE's and not Mike Williams on game day is another in a long list of mistakes. But to answer your question, it is Spiller. He has all the talent except he can't run the ball. It's kind of a necessary skill to be a RB. He can run but he can't run the ball. He does not see the hole. Dixon and Brown found the holes today and ran well. Spiller doesn't read blocks, doesn't know when and when not to accelerate, and I think he has asthma - because Chan was right he gets tired way to quickly. And of course he actually does something worse than Lee Smith - block. He appears to be the worst pass blocking RB in the league. Oh and the Bills used a first round pick on him when they had Lynch(four TD's today) and Jackson(heart and soul of the team for years).
  12. Make him highest paid defensive player right now. He has earned it. Franchise Hughes. And extend Glenn at the same time. They have virtually no money spent on the QB and WR position. They have the cap room. Mario's contract will be able to be jettisoned in a couple years when hopefully they have a QB worthy of big dollars.
  13. Favorite over who? Oakland might be a pick-em game. And if the Jets win next week and Bills lose to Miami the Jets might be favored in that game as well.
  14. Ha ha ha ha ... Spiller doesn't see half the holes that were there today. Most of the good solid runs were inside.
  15. Today's game was winnable. Why should the outcome be any different the next three weeks. Orton sucks. He is a 0.500 QB and that is what this team will be lucky to be at the end of the season. Lose to Miami and it should be EJ the rest of the way.
  16. The season is over - don't bother arguing that it is not. Extend Dareus now and make him highest paid defensive player in the league. Franchise Hughes. Put Goodwin on IR. Start EJ the rest of the way. Say good-bye to CJ. Bench Pears for Richardson or Kouandjio Give Whaley one more off-season. Fire everyone else starting with Marrone. Let the new HC decide if Schwartz stays or goes.
  17. The season is over. They are all but mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. And that will happen on Thursday.
  18. Why didn't they just run the dam play. The ran well most of the day. Just quick snap it for a first down. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
  19. Totally agree. For once they control their own fate. But fate is what you make and they need to make it the next four weeks.
  20. Browns win tonight. Bills are the only AFC contender with a losing conference record. They already have losses to the Patriots, Texans, and Chargers. A loss to any of the next four teams is absolutely crippling in terms of both conference record and another head to head tiebreaker. The Bills have not been to the playoffs in 14 seasons, but they are already playing playoff football now.
  21. You are right. The season is probably over with a loss to the Chiefs given the conference record and head to head losses to KC, Houston, and San Diego. In this case the coaches are right. There is no reason to look beyond this weekend because there is no tomorrow with a loss on Sunday.
  22. Glenn. There is nobody on the roster capable of playing LT and the repercussions to the rest of the line are devastating. Henderson moves to LT, Pears or Hairston to RT, and Richardson/Hairston would be RG. This would make the line the worst in the NFL if they are not already. After that who plays QB is irrelevant.
