  1. I want Todd Bowles or Dan Quinn but would be perfectly happy with Rex. Gruden would be my dream HC but I just don't see him as a viable candidate. As I stated before, double down on defense and find a great OC and OL coach.
  2. Wow. Just wow. It takes one !@#$ed up organization to have two coaches resign in such short order.
  3. Mallett and Matt Moore would be reasonable choices. Draft a QB every year starting this year. Spend FA dollars on Hughes, guards, and extending Dareus and Glenn now. Let Spiller walk. Draft a RB in the fourth.
  4. I'm not saying CK should play just that other guys that are fairly close in talent - Richardson, Urbik, Pears, and Hairston could have gotten some reps. And the former 1st round RB who can't pass block at all is just as capable of getting the QB killed as any back-up guard.
  5. By all accounts he was and is still highly regarded. He was on the short list of HC's to at least interview when the Bills hired him. ESPN called him an offensive guru today. Has anybody watched the Bills games? If he is that good then the talent on offense must be worse than we think. If he is truly good, then it will take a supreme effort in FA and the draft to fix this offense and probably more than one year. I must admit I don't buy it. I thought his offensive attack was a joke. Was it dumbed down because of EJ? Hard to beleive that as it was not much different with Orton. I don't believe they can use the excuse of no trainging camp or OTA's for a multi-year vet who started for over ten weeks. Again what are we missing?
  6. Why is it WR's DB's, and LB's can all rotate in throughout the season to get some playing time and see how they do. Hogan, Duke Williams, and a host of LB's did that this year. Why can't the same thing be done at OL? Why do the same 5 have to play the whole game? Why not rotate the guards and tackles for a couple of series a game? I think continuity is overrated. Yes if all five are good then by all means play all five. But you can argue three of the five were below average to awful all year long. No reason why CK could not have dressed for a couple of games and played a few series. No reason Richardson could not have gotten a few plays at RG.
  7. Why do you think Kiko's return has an effect on Spikes? Kiko will not play MLB on run downs. If he returns to form he will be the nickel MLB and that was Brown most of the year. Kiko will be in a rotation with Brown and Bradham all year long. Bradham has a better chance of unseating Spikes at MLB than Kiko does. They may add two TE's in the off season, certainly at least one via the draft. Between Hairston, Henderson, and Kouandjio they have three players competing for the RT/RG spots before others are added to the roster. One can play the third TE. Whaley will make sure Lee Smith is gone. What purpose does a blocking TE serve on the worst rushing offense in decades? Lee Smith represents everything that is wrong with Marrone and his decisions for the offense. Really? Two organizations have said he is a run down only LB. I'm sure he sees the light. He has a good thing going in Buffalo. He can play a long time not being exposed in coverage. He signed in Buffalo because nobody else wanted him. What did he do here that he didn't do in New England? Nothing. I would not care much if he left but I would try hard to bring him back. One less hole to deal with in the off season.
  8. Hundley is awful. No thank you. Franchise or re-sign Hughes. Add two offensive lineman in FA. Go after Cutler or Bradford. Draft TE, RB, QB, DB.
  9. He will find a home in Arizona or Seattle. He may sign a one year deal somewhere and try to have a breakout season for a team with some hope of running a competent offense.
  10. Culture matters. Harbaugh's culture apparently creates unrest in the building and it finally has shown on the field. His personality is toxic. Might work in college where the players can't be around him as much. But not in the NFL.
  11. Nobody knows for sure because no one is sure who made the final call on Marrone and EJ. We know Spiller is a bust and TJ Graham is a bust and Troupe is a bust. Those were all on Nix. Whaley so far has a second round OL pick that didn't dress for a single game on a team with the worst OL in the league.
  12. Players played for Jauron and Gailey. Don't see that as an issue since Gregg Williams. Marrone crippled this offense with his mismanagement of EJ, the line, and letting Hackett call brutal games. But in the end, the QB position is still a disaster and M and K Williams are a year older. No playoffs and no EJ development. Marrone should be let go as the 9 wins are a mirage. They should have lost to Green Bay and Detroit. New England had nothing to play for. They could easily be a six win team with the only solid victories against the Jets and Dolphins at home.
  13. Defense is not the problem. As I said build on the strength of the team and start from scratch on offense. Marrone has proven he can pick good DC's and he gets his players to play hard. Other than that he has been a disaster with offensive personnel decisions, the QB position, and the OL. Wholesale changes are needed on that side of the ball. An offensive minded HC would be the obvious choice but I would prefer the offense be run by a top flight OC and the team run by a defensive guy. As for Cowher he was gifted a SB by the refs and his team is just as good without him. Dungy is just as bad. One SB win with all that talent in Tampa and Indianapolis.
  14. He should have been the hire instead of Marrone. He has been an elite DC for years. He will make this defense the best in the NFL. Build upon our strength and start over with the offense. For the record I don't want Cowher or Dungy.
  15. Another stupid article on the consistency of the Patriots' success. You can write the same article in Indianapolis pre Manning neck injury. It is all Brady. There defense is better this year but it has been average or below for most of the decade. The moment Brady retires Bill is going to go screaming into retirement too. He knows he is a lot closer to the failure in Cleveland version of Bill than the Peter King version.
  16. Erik Flowers Traveres Tillman Corey Moore Avion Black Sammy Morris Leif Larsen All taken before...
  17. Fred is done as a runner. He is a 3rd down blocker much like Thurman was his final season with the Bills. They should have him take a pay cut or release him. No one would pay him more than veteran minimum. Let Spiller walk. He is an athlete not a football player. Dixon, Brown, a draft pick, and a FA are good enough for next year +/- FJ at a lower cost.
  18. If you watched the games you would know this is not a playoff caliber team. Maybe in the NFC South. The offense is bottom 5. That is not going to get it done in the NFL. The defense has two years before FA, salary cap, and age starts to pick it apart. They need a wholesale upgrade of the offense. Cutler, two guards, a TE, and a RB might be enough to get to the playoffs next year.
