  1. Put Urbik in! Posted yesterday that Miller should not be starting.
  2. Why do people hate on McKelvin? He is solid. The NFL is built for offense. The DB barely have a chance. Give the guy a break. He is not great but he is better than most.
  3. They have been playing extra o-lineman a lot today. He'll they lined up #60 at TE off the line once. Roman, doing good today. One INT now!!!
  4. This seems odd. To me I saw no appreciable difference with Urbik. If anything I thought Urbik was a better pass blocker. Why put Miller on a bum ankle out there when his back-up is healthy, a veteran, and is nearly if not as good? Makes no sense. Stick with Urbik for this game.
  5. Nice comparison. Vick probably had more straight line speed than any QB before, then, and now. Also Vick had a much stronger arm - perhaps the best in the game at the time. TT has a solid arm but nearly what Vick had. Lets hope the hits don't rob TT of his elusiveness and he continues to run mostly to look for downfield throws. Robert Woods - stay on your dam feet when TT scrambles!
  6. Interesting comment. Because I saw quite a bit of this alignment especially with Mario Sunday. While Schwartz used this to free up Kyle and Dareus, Rex uses it to blitz safeties. It worked fairly well against the Texans. Especially late when they had to throw. OP, did you watch the Oakland game? While still in the playoff hunt the offense played as bad a game as they did in a decade. The offense is far far better this year. I don't even think it is because Hackett is gone. His schemes seem to get guys open. EJ and Orton just sucked at QB. I was an EJ guy but it is clear now that he may not even be a below average backup. TT is just a few half seconds, an extra pump, and an inch or two off target from being truly great. Even the line is better than last year. As bad as RG has been this year LG was much worse.
  7. Ok maybe not top 5 but probably top 10 if you ask the question is the player doing his job and how does he rank with others. Colton Schmidt ranks 6th in net punt average at 43 yards/punt. he has been very good to great.
  8. It can't be "gassed issue". It was the first play of the drive after a punt and TV timeout. I saw the same thing with Dareus in the KC game. It seems like they give the second string guys opportunities outside of the red zone. But a three and out late in the game on their side of the field is just as critical. Scwartz did the same thing last year, I know.
  9. I would like to see some science on the laces forward. It is probably all BS. Certainly is not going to affect a 35 yard kick.
  10. Easley has a body closer to an OLB than a safety. To me he looks more like a TE that should split out 80% of the time.
  11. How the hell is Hughes not on the field at the start of the Texans TD, game tying drive? He isn't on the field until the fifth play when they are already in the red zone. It is after a punt and TV timeout. And why is Mario on the field during garbage time (after the lead was 9) with a bum foot? They weren't going to run the ball there. They could have put anyone out there to rush the passer - hell even a pissed off Carpenter would have been a better choice...
  12. Very impressed with the gates, ticket check, and grounds. Clean! Well done Buffalo. The stadium has such great sight lines. With all the new boxes and this remodel they should be good until 2025 or so. Food and beer options are still pretty average/weak. I live in Pacific NW. Seattle and Arizona have better food and beer. Denver was kind of crappy too. KC has some crazy good barbecue.
  13. I was at the game and the one replay they showed it didn't look like he stepped OOB at the 43. There was 2:08 on the clock. Unless it was obvious I think Rex should challnege there. If I remember he ran it insdie the thirty. Not that many yards but Rex can't challenge anything after 2 minute warning, clock was already stopped, and they didn't need to conserve TO's. Also was the holding penalty on the big punt return a good call? They never showed a replay in the stadium.
  14. 1. Clay is the best TE they have had in two decades 2. Why would you restrucutre? They overpaid in year 1 so Miami couldn't match and sign Suh. He is a relative bargain the rest of his contract. 3. He made a crazy good catch along the sidelines on a horrible TT throw. He didn't get his head around fast enough for the dropped ball over the middle. He was late on the route. TT throw was a little wide of target but certainly good enough had Clay turned his head a half second faster.
  15. The offseason will be about the offensive and defensive lines. Who stays? Who goes? FA or draft? Add another OLB, maybe a hybrid type, and upgrade the backup TE.
  16. Top HC candidates next season 1. Adam Gase 2. Hue Jackson 3. Sean Payton 4. Brian Kelly 5. David Shaw
