  1. They will when the games count. Until then why play? They know who 4 of the five starting linemen on offense are. They know the top WR, RB, TE, and QB. What is the point? Dareus, Wood, Glenn, Richie, Clay, and TT should play the first half of the 3rd game and that is it. KW, Shady, and Watkins should never see the field.
  2. 1. Young 2. Vick 3. Cunningham 4. Tarkenton 5. TT 6. Newton 7. Montana 8. Romo 9. Staubach 10. Wilson/Culpepper/McNair/Rodgers/Kaepernick
  3. Change the thread title to "If they start 0-6" If they do start 0-6, have the same issues on defense, have the same issues with penalties, and look unprepared, then you fire Rex. That is a lot of assumptions but there is a scenario that Rex loses his job by mid-season. I predict 4-2 based on the schedule. But if they went 0-6 against that schedule then that only adds fuel to the fire Rex flames. I still predict 10-6 and in the WC hunt right up until the end
  4. IK was terrible anyways. The recent signings are probably no better or no worse. Z. Brown might be the best FA signing. And if Washington can play DE/DT well then they can limp by until S. Lawson returns mid-season. P. Brown was so bad last year. He has to play better or they are really in trouble in both the base and nickel defense.
  5. It is a passing league. Get rid of all the fullbacks. They are not needed. If they need a big body in the backfiled they can make Karlos Williams block, a TE, or any random spare OL/DL. FB is useless. Felton wasn't even any good last year. I would much rahter keep an extra - well pretty much any extra position except punter and long-snapper over a FB.
  6. Lots of players make plays in preseason games and still get cut and are never heard from again. I think the practice field is where these guys earn their jobs.
  7. Jones is less prepared to play QB than Tuel time was. EJ is not going anywhere until he packs his things in January I bet he will sign with someone next year but it will be league minimum money.
  8. Completely agree. McCoy should not get a single play all preseason. Treat him like the Bolts treated Tomlinson. Same goes for Sammy. Protect him at all costs. And I don't buy they need live game reps. Preseason games are nothing like real games. The speed is not the same.
  9. Bosa is going to be a bust. Said it before the draft. He knows and and so does his family/agent. They want all the money now becasue he will be out of the league before his contract is up.
  10. It is just one metric to judge QB play and an attempt to improve upon simple completion percentage. 6 of the 12 QB's in the playoffs were not in the top 10, and only 1 of 4 Conference championship QB's - Palmer who single handedly lost the game for the Cardinals. I think it fits what we saw last year. The ball seems to be placed in the right spot. TT throws a good deep ball. He increased the frequency of throws to the second and third option as the season went on. He threw more over the middle as he played more games. He doesn't turn the ball over much. I thought he held the ball too long trying to make the big play down field. I would rather he take off, get 7-8 yards, and slide instead of holding the ball. A nice mix of aggressive play and conservative play to get positive yards. The more he runs for those short gains the more the linebackers and safeties have to respect that and react. That will only open up more crossing patterns and broken coverages as he moves around.
  11. http://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/17245910/nfl-10-most-accurate-quarterbacks-seattle-seahawks-russell-wilson-pittsburgh-steelers-ben-roethlisberger It is an ESPN insider article. For those who do not have insider, it ranks TT 10th behind in order from 1-9, Wilson, Rapelisberger, Bridgewater, Palmer, Cousins, Dalton, Brees, Ryan, and Rivers. They state TT is the East coast version of Wilson. Note no Rodgers, Brady, or Newton in this list. I would take all three of those over this top 10.
  12. Jerry Jones Robert Kraft Terrell Owens Jim Marshall Don Coryell Tom Flores - a tragedy Dungy made it before Flores. Morton Anderson Not HOF - John Lynch, Terrell Davis, Kurt Warner, Randall Cunningham, Steve Tasker, Steve Atwater. All were very good but just not HOF material.
  13. It will be a torn meniscus. It is harder to see on MRI. Surgery and 4-8 weeks recovery is my best guess.
  14. Since I hated the Ragland pick anyways am I still allowed to be dismayed that he got hurt and the inside LB position is now as bad as DE???
  15. I reserve judgment until we see Bush in a few more practices. 30 year old knees don't respond well to the pounding. My hunch is he will break down and will look worse as camp continues. In the end they will choose youth at the RB spot unless someone tweaks an ankle or a hamstring.
  16. If Ragland isn't a star then it is going to be a long season. P. Brown was just awful last year. Z. Brown has a chance to get significant time.
  17. Nuts. He could be replaced with any number of FA's or draft picks. Must pay Gilmore or TT now or the price will be insane next year.
  18. Anyone that takes away power from Brandon is a good thing. He is the major constant player in the horrible decisions this team has made for nearly two decades. Yes training camp has been a success. Most everything else has been bad. With regard to Kim, most "active" owners do not fare well in the NFL with regard to player personnel. Assuming she is a bright business mind and sticks to the stadium and marketing side of the business, then by all means be as active as she wants.
  19. Gronk is a shooting star. He will fade fast as injuries mount. Greatest QB in NFL history will miss 1/4 of the season. The AFC East is wide open. Even Miami could win. If TT progresses the Bills have a great shot at 11-5. Need to go 5-1 in the division and the other three need to beat each other up.
  20. I agree with Denver. There is not much drop off from awful to dreadful. The opposite would be Carolina, San Diego and Pittsburgh. Without Cam, Rivers, or Big Ben those teams are done.
  21. Well said. The counter argument is they didn't need to install a whole new defense. They just needed the offense to play better. Rex brought in Roman and TT and the offense got better. He should have swallowed his pride and added some of his defensive principles to what Schwartz was already doing instead of a full scale change. He either could not teach the defense well enough or the players were too stupid to figure it out. Losing A. Williams was a serious blow. Thinking Duke Williams belonged on the field was bad judgement. I neither love or hate. In two years the D-line went from best in the NFL to having a gaping hole at DE and no place to play Kyle. But oddly the defense will not decide Rex's fate. It is all about TT. If TT can climb into the near elite - top 10 status (Rivers, Roethlisberger, Romo, Eli) Rex will stay and get to draft as many defenders as he wants next year.
  22. Such an interesting debate. Is Gilmore, Winfield or is he Byrd/Clements? For the people saying he is not worth top 5 money and not any more, you have no argument. He will get paid top 5 money by somebody. He knows it, his agent knows it, and so do the Bills. The Bills have no leverage unless they sign TT to a long term deal now. Otherwise one of them is gone and they can't risk letting TT walk if he is even above average. The only prudent thing to do is pay the man. As others have said a top 5 contract now will look like a bargain in 3 years. They need the cap relief of a large signing bonus spread over multiple years so they can save the tag for TT. Best hope is Gilmore holds out and Whaley caves and pays him. Just get it done and move on. EJ, Kyle, and a chunk of dead money come off the cap next year. Don't let your good plyers go.
  23. RG and RT. RG is Miller's job to lose but he was far from solid last year. I expect him to be better, stronger, and do a solid job this year. They should have shut him down after the high ankle. He couldn't finish any games down the stretch. RT is a disaster unless Henderson gets healthy and then it is still awful.
  24. Any street FA RB can get you 3.1 YPC. There is no upside to signing this guy. I don't believe people deserve second chances. It is an entertainment league trying to expand female viewership. Ban or black-ball for life - I don't care either way. It is time to go away and get a real job Mr. Rice. And then we will see how long his wife stays with him making $50K a year.
