  1. Ask yourself, is there any person in the country not born in Buffalo or Cleveland that would want to watch Bills-Browns? College has many horrible games too it is just that every week there is at least one and usually as many as three or four can't miss games.
  2. Now that Miller has been healthy all year it seems fair to assess his play. I would grade him B-. I have not seen the great push that Richie has gotten. Pass protection has been ok - probably better than average but not stellar. Quick search says he has had only 1 penalty assessed for 10 yards. What does the board think?
  3. How many times do announcers have to say X years old and in the best shape of his life??? 38 year old linebackers are very rare. This guy washed out three years ago and now is back bigger and stronger. He is obviously on something that they can not detect. And maybe Collinsworth can't openly question whether a guy is juicing or not, but I will be happy to do so for them.
  4. I agree with the loss to Oakland. But they will win the rest. 10-6. But probably no playoffs still.... Yes but their defense is not as good as in past years
  5. That was a great pick, but every arm-chair GM had the Cowboys taking Elliot. So hard to know but how much of Elliot's success is the line??? Could another RB produce the same and could they have added defensive help with a top 5 pick? Doesn't matter. Jones should get credit to adding to his team's strength regardless of who the QB was supposed to be.
  6. I really don't understand this thread. It has been well documented his son had to talk him out of Manziel to draft O-line. He historically has not been good. He fired the best coach the team ever had who built the team that won three SuperBowls. He didn't want Dak anymore then the Patriots wanted Brady. He wanted to trade up with Buffalo for Paxton Lynch. The only solid decision he has made was not signing Demarco Murray to a big contract. As for Whaley, lets be honest his tenure has been a mixed bag. He has had some very nice moments and he has crapped the bed on some other decisions. His legacy will be defined by TT and Watkins. If Watkins can stay healthy and becomes as dominant as his peer WRs then he will get a pass on giving up so much for him. I still regard it as a dumb move to move up in the draft and give up a #1 for any WR. I hate that Whaley moves up in the draft to target players. It is a stupid waste of precious resources.
  7. Why isn't JT Barrett on the list? He is the QB that Cardale Jones could not beat out for the starting job in college after winning the national championship. In a very small body of work, Jones showed he has size, toughness, and a cannon for an arm. I just don't believe he is anywhere close to being able to play against a NFL defense. But who honestly knows. That said it is TT to the playoffs and this discussion will be done.
  8. Explain how the coaches are responsible for the penalties? The players know the rules. What would any of us do with Hughes? The players can't be fined for penalties. They can't be suspended. You can sit them but they still get paid. It is easy to blame the coaches. Why not assign blame where it belongs? Hughes is a stupid player but on a short list of best defender on the team. What do you think this board would do if Lawson started and Hughes sat the first quarter against the Jags? He looks fat and slow. He looks like an average to bad 4-3 DE. No way he can play 3-4 OLB or even a 3-4 DE. No burst off the ball. Haven't seen enough against the run to see if he can hold the edge and point of attack.
  9. They gave up 12 points. Ok so maybe it should have been 14 but still. Hard to nit-pick the defense. Great tackles in-bounds on the last drive. If Clay hauls in the TD pass this board would have a whole different mind-set. The throw to Harvin was a play to win the game. TT blew it. He makes that throw and the worst is they punt the ball with 15 seconds on the clock. The smarter call was to run. But TT has to make that throw. The modern NFL uses the pass to kill the clock as much as it does the run. Why so silent on the first round pick barely playing this game? Dareus is ripped for being injured. He played a solid game today. Looked like Lawson was pretty much a healthy scratch all day. Who do you blame for the penalties? Should Rex sit Hughes for a quarter like it is HS? Should he cut Blanton? I would cut Blanton based on performance alone.
  10. KW Carpenter OL All the RBs And Marcell played well. Not dominant but ok. Hopefully the groin is ok.
  11. I think you are right. Hopefully AFC West devours their own down the stretch
  12. Are you watching the same game as the rest of us? TT played bad today but it has nothing to do with going into scramble mode too early. His accuracy was awful today. No excuses. Just horrible especially on throw to Clay. But he holds onto the ball in and out of the pocket looking to make plays downfield. He threw over the middle today and stepped up in the pocket today a few times nicely. If you are going to criticize his bad play at least know what he did wrong.
  13. MAJBOBBY- TT was mostly terrible today. No excuses for some of those throws.
  14. Kyle Williams is having his best year in three years. Kyle is healthy. At times and in particular in some long stretches of games, the defense has been able to get off the field on third down thus Kyle gets more rest. The offense has been better on third down as the year has gone on keeping the defense fresh. Washington has played well at times. It's all good. If Dareus is healthy Worthy might only see 15 snaps unless Washington is hitting the rookie wall.
  15. Good take. We here criticize the ones we know best. Football is not baseball though. Jeter did not earn a third of his all-star appearances. Brown earned most of those 9 ProBowls. He was never as dominant and the fans would have wanted but he was a technician, efficient, and incredibly consistent.
  16. I think it would be easier to double any WR if you start the game plan with man coverage with your top CB. I understand Gilmore is not Revis but I am curios how much keeping his CBs on their respective sides of the field has affected his defensI've style and play calling.
  17. I wonder if Rex's defense is held back from the fact he can not or will not play Gilmore like he did with Revis. I understand Sherman plays only one side too but I thought Rex had his best success with Revis on the opposing top WR. I have not seen many other DCs move the DB's from side to side or man up on the opposing top WR. Just curious what the board thinks about this strategy.
  18. Hey all you guys that knew Dareus was going to get suspended can you tell me the lottery numbers for the PowerBar this week?
  19. They picked the wrong year to go 0-16. No QB that I have seen looks like a first round pick let alone the first overall. That is not to say a QB or more that one will not be drafted in the first round. I just don't see any good ones entering the draft this year.
  20. You are correct they need to use two hands. But I think they have time to move their torso up in order to make it impossible to be jumped over. Now they just stay bent over knowing they can't be hit. Before when they could be hit they would snap and block like any other lineman.
  21. I have to agree even thoug I think they only lose two more games this year. The Miami loss coupled with the Raven and Jets losses are inexcusable. I like TT and he has 5 or 6 games left when they are still mathematically in the race to shows us what he can be. This year was doomed with injuries from the start. Whaley needs to avoid giving up more draft picks, sign a solid RT and veteran CB in FA, let Gilmore walk, draft a couple safeties, and another TE.
