  1. Bills would be alive playing in week 17 for the first time in a decade
  2. McLovin Cockrell Rambo Others? The Bills seem to cut a bunch of guys that are able to play on other teams and yet the Bills are still lacking talent in the defensive backfield.
  3. Exactly. Keep drafting until you find a great one. I've never said they shouldn't draft a QB to compete with TT. My point is a 3rd round rookie plus TT's contract plus Jones is still not an excessive amount of money on the QB position. But this team needs a star safety. I would prefer via the draft as it would cost less. The other option is to get a great FA safety, let Gilmore walk and draft another CB along with a middle of the road veteran CB.
  4. Be honest, you really think Dak is that good? Best OL and second or third best RB with a HOF TE and great WR. Give the kid credit for not screwing it up. I really don't think any staff can scout a QB. It is all luck. Honestly how could 32 teams miss on Brady and most teams have Jamarcus Russell a top 3 pick. These guys know nothing more than the average Joe. It is luck and probabilities. Keep drafting one until they find one. Move down in the draft and get more picks. Agree on all points but he still has played terribly and has been healthy for 8 weeks He needs to talk to Bruce Smith and figure out how to add mass to his upper body and stay lean in the middle. A full year of conditioning should help. But not nearly as much as a new defense
  5. He looks awful and it would be reasonable to panic. He looks like Erik Flowers. He looks s o s l o w. His best hope is a switch to a 4-3. Lawson, KW, Dareus, and Washington in a rotation with Hughes as OLB/DE and Douzable.
  6. Not technically two wins. How about truthfully two wins.
  7. Ahh memories.... The Bills were never that good on defense in the SuperBowl years. They feasted on a weak AFC and got pushed around in every SuperBowl. The Bills do not embrace the cold like the Packers do. The cold is as much a disadvantage to the Bills as the away team. Not sure why but I can't remember the last great cold weather game they played. The two Bills-Raiders playoff games perhaps? Our identity is we have not have a great QB since Kelly got knocked out against the jags. I like TT but our run of mediocre to bad QB's is almost as bad as Cleveland's and compares just as badly as Miami's effort to replace Marino. Keep drafting a QB until you find the one
  8. MAJ, you really think TT's play is based on money and contract? Don't see that from him at all. Gilmore maybe but not the character of TT. The kid is all heart and plays to win.
  9. Again I agree the defense is easy to fix. I disagree the offense needs to be fixed. Improved sure. But the offense has scored enough to win and be in the playoffs. You can not equate what happened to the Bills WRs this year to losing one WR. I don't know what the issue was with Clay and TT. Open on All-22 doesn't equate to where the ball should go on any given play. We don't know what the play design dictates. But in general I agree, Clay should have been targeted far more. In the end my opinion has not changed. I would pick-up the extension as is. Two weeks ago I would have tried to get TT to renegotiate the deal. Maybe Whaley still tries that. But the Bills would still be in the playoff race today with the way the QB played yesterday and through the totality of the season. The defense is the reason the team will miss the playoffs. Did you ever imagine that would be the case 24 months ago? Even if Marrone had not left, no one would have foreseen the total collapse on that side of the ball.
  10. At least we agree it is scheme not the players on defense. Even a healthy secondary and Rex's antiquated defense would get torched. And I want a QB that can throw for 300 a game too. I like modern NFL passing games. I like watching the best athletes make incredible plays downfield. But there is more than one way to win in this league. If Seattle had handed the ball to Lynch they would have two SuperBowl wins with some of the worst passing attacks in a decade. The offense was good enough to beat Miami twice and the Bills would be locked into a playoff spot already. Perhaps it would be easier to want TT gone if he wasn't so likeable. He seems like a perfect Buffalo guy. Plays hard every snap. Never quits. Always nice. I get your points about his play. He simply does not pull the trigger when guys are just getting open. This leads to guys catching the ball at the boundaries and without a chance to get more yards. Case in point the OOB throw to Clay in the back of the end-one. He could have made that throw a second earlier and Clay is catching the ball wide open with four yards to spare to the endline. Or worse he doesn't pull the trigger at all. Watkins is a highlight reel waiting to happen. Regressed or not progressed. Matter of opinion I guess. But, even if TT regressed, the offense progressed. And if TT regressed it is with a huge injury asterisk for the WRs.
  11. MAJ - You have no credibility if you think the biggest issue with this team is the offense and the QB. As many as three DB positions need to be replaced if they let Gilmore walk. The defense is worse than last year and is the reason this team is not in the playoffs. The offense crapped the bed against Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and the second half of Oakland. The defense lost the Jets, Pittsburgh, Miami x 2, Seattle, Oakland, and Patriots. I will agree I have seen little development in TT's game this year. Perhaps a little more awareness and throws over the middle. But little if any awareness and ability to figure out the risk/no risk ratio on when to throw the ball. He gets a bit of a pass for several games playing with JV level WR's. But as others have pointed out, what is your alternative? Jones is years away if ever. No rookie worth a first round grade. I have no issue drafting a rookie QB and if he wins the job like Wilson did with a new coach I could care less if TT is being paid or not. The total money spent on starter/back-up would still be very acceptable. 2018? Come on. You don't even know what the cap will be then. With your plan of drafting a rookie and he beats out TT for the job, the starting QB would be among the least paid starting QB's in the league just like it was for Seattle. 2018 KW, Hughes, and maybe even Shady would be coming off the books. The only player worth keeping not under contract is Watkins. There will be plenty of money to pay him.
  12. Did anyone see him starting for Ohio State last year?
  13. This really isn't a hard decision. Mills is awful. Put best 5 out there.
  14. There is no QB worthy of a first round pick. I agree they should draft a QB later though. Cardale is going to be a bust.
  15. If they go for it and don't make it, he doesn't get the same degree of heat he is getting for this gutless move. As for the time-out he blew it both ways. First they shouldn't have tried to call a time out. They were rushing to get on the field. But if he did want to call the time out to get his kick block team on the field then there was no reason to wait. He is lying. The TV showed he screwed up what he wanted to do. He is just making things up now. He tried to ice the kicker in a panic situation. That was a dumb idea and he executed it horribly. Bye Bye
  16. If rex is gone by Monday then Whaley is keeping his job. Pegs won't let Whaley fire Rex on his own. Whaley will do the right thing and protect the long term health of the best players.
  17. I'm fine with BPA as well. They could use a player at almost every spot on defense. If they bring back Groy the interior line is set. I read somewhere that OT's are more difficult to grade because of all the spread offenses. There have been several misses on high OT draft picks. I like CK at LT and Glenn at RT.
  18. I would sit TT, Shady, KW, and Sammy. Glenn to IR. Maybe even sit Clay. Nothing to be gained putting those guys at risk.
  19. I take best safety on the board. Second option is a WR.
  20. CK looked good again. Glenn at RT and CK at LT puts the best 5 on the field. Opens up a spot in the 2017 draft for PK or another safety. I would draft safety in first round or perhaps WR.
  21. Yup. I posted that before the KO. Huge mistake. He caught the ball already running forward.
  22. Darby has been much worse than Gilmore all year. There are major holes at RT(though my plan woudl be Glenn at Rt and CK at LT), #2 WR, both safety positions, kicker and maybe even punter. Franchise him for the year. Figure out the long term contract later.
