  1. He is on top 5 list of most overrated Bills of all time. No thanks.
  2. Whaley forced Rex out. That is the most important off-season move.
  3. I would take Mario Williams back as a reserve DE before Byrd or Stevie
  4. Why is this so hard? Bench TT to avoid injury in meaningless game. Hire new coach and staff. Take time evaluating TT and other FA quarterbacks. Make decision after long discussion. That is not dysfunction. That is how a new team works.
  5. Bennett is gone Go get Hightower or explain to me why they did not tag Gilmore
  6. They just freed up even more money. They can get a top WR at #10. Get Hightower and the front 7 will be great
  7. Sign either of these two and then wait for the draft Let everyone else walk
  8. I have said it before in other threads but you can not underestimate how bad Rex was for this team. His defense just doesn't work in the NFL any longer. It is too complicated. You can't trick even a decent QB. NFL offenses are not even that sophisticated any longer. All they do is put 5 guys out in the pattern and find the weakest spot in the defense. That could be as simple as a 6-5 TE on a tiny CB or a RB on a LB. Rex took a simple team defense that worked and destroyed it. It really should not be a surprise. When they ran the same defense with Pettine they were historically bad at stopping the run. I admit I had hope that Rex would keep Schwartz and just be the HC. Maybe add in a few DB blitzes or other wrinkles. But know he had to prove he was smarter than Belichick and Brady. And of course he is not. Whaley said it in the PC. "Rex's defense wasn't good enough". Yes I would rather have Gilmore on the tag and a rookie safety. But I can live with Hyde, another FA DB, and a second round rookie CB. I want Glenn at RT and Kujo at LT, but if they want Glenn at LT, they will find someone that is as bad or better than Mills. Nearly impossible to get worse. WR and LB are the scary spots at this point. Davis and Williams probably will both be there at #10. I would be happy with either. But I see a trade down and taking BPA 8-15 spots later. There is depth at WR and DB in this draft. Move down, get extra picks, and draft a TE, WR, LB, DB. AND Make sure they sign less FA's than they lose. let Lorax and Z. Brown walk.
  9. New coach, new scheme, new safeties, and more talent coming. 10 wins easy. You can not underestimate how bad Rex was
  10. Bring him in as a scout. According to what I read, he is a good talent evaluator.
  11. Agreed. Worst case scenario TT is great and we have a backup with trade value
  12. Whaley still sucks right? See what happens when Russ no longer has his hand in the organization. Russ is the one constant in the last decade of failure.
  13. Go after a RT and a Safety. There are no good OT options in the draft and they need two safeties.
  14. He should have come back last year. He could have played. Maybe the Bills were afraid and wanted him to heal another year. Regardless, he is a top 15 safety and they need him back. It allows them to be extremely flexible in the draft especially in the first round.
  15. The main point is there is no such things as a sure thing or even any organization that drafts better than any other. It is a numbers and luck game. Organizations can develop talent better than others, manage their cap and free agency better than others, but the draft is entirely speculation. You can not explain away Jamarcus Russel and Tom Brady with any rational argument other than pure luck. Yes in general the bust rate is less the higher you pick but there is no pattern. No team is better. No position is more likely to succeed. OTs picked in the top of the draft were felt to be 10 year plug and play guys. For every Joe Thomas there are five other busts. For every Matt Ryan and Alex Smith there is a Wilson, Prescott, or Romo. Thus the only answer is to have more lottery tickets. Trade down or just don't waste picks trading up is enough to improve your odds. There was no reason to trade up for Ragland. He likely won't be any better than 10 other guys they could have drafted later.
  16. No QB is worth a first round pick. Unfortunately that means more real talent will be off the board by pick 10. Hopefully the teams ahead of the Bills panic and push the WR, safeties, and corners down.
  17. Even tanking for Luck didn't work out that well. It turns out the other 21 starters on offense and defense have an impact on the game. As for the next great USC QB, please refer to Kessler, Barkley, Leinart, Booty, Sanchez, Palmer, Johnson, Marinovich, Peete, Salisbury. Not one of these guys is worth tanking a season. Luck and Elway were the closest ever to sure things and they both struggled early. Manning had question marks. Could you imagine tanking and getting Ricke Mirer or worse Jamarcus Russell? Don't tank. Try to win now. Trade down in the draft and add picks. Replace expensive corners with cheaper zone scheme guys. Absolutely no need to tank for a guy who has a better chance of being a fourth round bust than the first overall pick in the draft.
  18. Completely agree. If he can beat out P. Brown then it is like getting an extra draft pick this year. If not, it will take two off-seasons to rebuild the linebackers.
  19. I would rather see Washington at DE in the base 4-3 along with Lawson, KW, and MD. Let Hughes play OLB in the base 4-3 and DE in the nickel. Washington and KW can rotate at DT in the nickel four down lineman group.
  20. Remember when OBD had more leaks than the Trump Whitehouse. Russ has been marginalized quite nicely by Doug and Pegs.
  21. Which year? Because it won't be in 2017.
  22. I disagree with this move but at the same time am ok with it. Hope they use the savings on Z. Brown. If they lose Woods, Lorax, and and Brown too they might get 3 picks next year. Of those four Brown is the most valuable.
