  1. There are no guaranteed contracts in the NFL and the full amount of the contract is almost never actually paid out. The only guaranteed money is the signing bonus which at times is paid out in two installments. Long term is only as good as your last game in the NFL. The Bills are not tied to any players contract especially with as far below the salary cap as they are. In the past when they had many good players the cap had to be managed. Now managing the cap just means more money for Wilson's family and not putting a competitive product on the field.
  2. Go back to a 4-3. Let Barnett play middle and Sheppard weak OLB. Draft the best OLB available in the first round followed by two WR's, a CB, two more LB's, and a couple OT's(+/- a devlopmental QB). That is 8 picks which I think is how many they have with Baltimore's 4th. This of course is predicated on them doing nothing in FA to help - which may or may not be true.
  3. Too many injuries and they have no speed at WR. They can't rush the passer and Edwards is out coached every game. The players know when they have no shot at winning...
  4. They are millions under the cap...who cares how much they pay Fitz...
  5. Marv Levy was quoted saying even if Willis was available he wasn't going to take him...
  6. Every time he missed a tackle on Anderson or a WR in the flat...He missed at least three easy tackles that kept drives alive for the Giants and our offense off the field. He even admitted it was the worst game of his career at the worst possible time.
  7. Agree winning is a cycle but the cycles don't have to last for decades. The Steelers sucked post-Bradshaw and Steel Curtain but not for that long and were at least in the playoffs with crappy QB's. Denver made it to the playoffs after Elway. Green Bay was down for the 70's and early 80's but were at least relevant with Lynn Dickey and Sharpe. The Bills were irrelevant from the mid 1960's to about 1988 with the exception of 1980-1981. They were truly awesome for about 6 years and have been irrelevant ever since the Music City Miracle. Buffalo's only saving grace is that it was a team that helped define the AFL and thus give the league enough credibility to force the merger with the NFL.
  8. No thank you, he practically single handedly lost the first Super Bowl game. Sam Cowart was a better LB pre-injury. Conlan and Talley were the most overrated players in Bills history.
  9. Because if Luck is the greatest college QB and sucks in the NFL, it will set the Colts back 3-5 yrs.
  10. Did anyone actually watch the play? Jones was the only truly open WR at the time of the throw. He ran a great pattern for three yards and then for some reason stopped running and jumped for the ball. If he just keeps running to the back of the end-zone it is an easy catch and TD. Horrible play by Jones.
  11. Johnson just isn't that good. If he were on an opposing team would anyone in this forum fear him?
  12. 52 yards off carpet without wind in the NFL is within every kickers range that is invited to a training camp
  13. You can't be serious??? Patrick and his little troop of misfits is unbearable. If you took a preseason poll on TBD, I would bet 90% of us would have been happy to have the Bills called average in November. This team was out of the playoffs before October started last year. I will take average right now thank you very much.
  14. Shouldn't have been used as an in the box safety? WTF! That is because he can't cover anyone.
  15. Word is there is something physically wrong with him this year. His numbers this year are terrible. He is an arrogant SOB but up until this year he was a great QB. Ten to one he needs off season elbow or shoulder surgery.
  16. We don't have a number one WR. Johnson is far from elite though his route running may be top 5. Jones is cheaper than Evans and that is his only good quality. OLB and WR have to be at top of needs list, along with another offensive tackle(even if Pears is resigned) and a DB. I think McKelvin is playing ok but Florence and McGee aren't young and we just don't know about Williams yet.
  17. When I posted that Gailey twice has responded in press conference to Johnson's seemingly innocent fooling around, "he has too much time on his hans," I feared there may be more to the story. Again may be making a mountain out of mole hill and there is nothing to see here but.... Flat tire? Seriously that is the best he could come up with... wonder if the wife will buy that story....me thinks something is rotten in Buffalo
  18. Losman hands off to Lynch and runs behind a block from Williams breaking a tackle and getting a block downfield from Hardy.... McCargo gets no pressure up the middle, while the opposing team's TE runs free with Poz and Whitner out of position...
  19. Really thought this would be his breakout game with Revis on Stevie and the rest of team focusing on Freddie....Chan thinks otherwise
  20. We all loved to blame DJ and drafting small players. Then we all said it was a lack of two a day practices. What the hell is it? Is there any common thread? They happen in cold and warm weather, to big and small players. I just wonder if they need an outside consultant to look at what the hell is happening to tis team. I know all teams have injuries but the Bills have lost a starting LT, CB, OLB, DT, and number 2 WR. What other team survives that, let alone the DT is the heart and soul of the defense? Add in the loss of the backup LT, the kicker, and nickel CB and the season rapidly spirals out of control. Anyone have any rational thoughts?
  21. Because he is playing DE 80% or more of the time. He was a capable DE. Why they thought he could play OLB is anybody's guess...
  22. Call me crazy but I say go double tight and run it up there arss. Do what they want to do to us. Make Revis who may just be the best player in NFL (I would choose Calvin Johnson) tackle. Block him into the stands with a pulling guard or FB. Bring the pain to Revis island then when they least expect try to hit just one over the top.
