  1. He is in the NFC Championship game. We started talking about the offseason and the draft before Thanksgiving.
  2. Why does everyone forget about Carrington? I think he could be a legit 4-3 DE when lined up next to Darreus and an edge rusher outside of him at OLB. He seems big enough to hold the edge against the run and quick enough to get some pass rush. He can not play OLB in a 3-4. The front 7 with with a healthy Williams and Dareus playing DT's in a 4-3 is not that far away. I believe it is easier to draft impact LB's then DL. Moats and Batten are as good as gone. Moats is halfway to being a footnote in the NFL history books. Maybe he can give some pass rush as a 4-3 OLB. Batten is special teams caliber at best.
  3. I like Sheppard I really do, but in the end I think he is going to be too small to play a 4-3 middle LB and not fast enough to be the edge rusher we need. My bet is he could be a very good MLB in a 3-4 with a capable NT in front of him. I could be wrong. I know he played MLB at LSU but even the SEC is a far cry from the interior lineman he will face in the NFL. The rest of the draft looks good. Dareus looks like a star. Williams, Hairston, and Searcy are all players.
  4. Brian Brohm would disagree with you
  5. If they pay a 28 million dollar roster bonus they will not have the money to bring back Wayne and Garcon. Then they probably go with Wayne on a three year deal. If they let Peyton go, my bet is they let Wayne walk too and sign Garcon to a 7 year deal. Pair him with Luck, sign a FA tackle and, then draft three more offensive lineman and a TE.
  6. Totally agree about the NCAA. The NCAA is the South circa 1859.
  7. Do you think Jets fans were saying the same thing about the Bills in 1989?
  8. How the hell does Mularkey get another gig at HC? Brian Schottenheimer gets to interview for HC job while at the same time being fired by the Jets. Perry Fewell and the NY Giants D overwhelm Mularkey's offense and he gets no shot. Gailey keeps his job despite 8 and 7 game losing streaks. Raheem Morris is one year removed from a 10-6 season and he gets fired. Buffalo would kill for a ten win season. The Raiders and especially Al Davis deserve special credit for giving minority coaches a chance and even they let go of Hue Jackson after just missing out on the playoffs(yes I know new GM). Wade Phillips has proven he can coach one hell of a defense but does he deserve yet another HC job? The Steelers chose Tomlin over Whisenhunt and Grimm. Are there no other Tomlin's out there that teams would be willing to give a shot?
  9. He's not even that great of a OC
  10. The ciy of Buffalo should pray they move to LA. The NFL would love to get Oakland back to LA. Would that be enough? Probably not. Moving out of Buffalo and Jacksonville would be next on the list of to do items. That being said I just can't see Toronto as a permanent destination. The tax situation makes competing in free agency very difficult. The Bills best hope is that the NFL never says yes to Vegas and Oklahoma City becomes a basketball and college football town.
  11. Well said. They have a lot of pieces already and I think they can be a FA draw once again. If the new GM can find the right balance between the Raider mystique of old and running a modern front office they can do very well.
  12. That means at least two of the 5 CB's left will be gone. Williams and Rogers stay. I think Corner is gone. Do Florence and McElvin fight to the death to see who stays? Can't see them taking a safety if they even draft one CB - they wouldn't would they???
  13. Dumervil didn't play last year and they added a star OLB in Von Miller. I think that has more to do with their turnaround than Fox does.
  14. This may be Reed's best and last shot. This list has no slam dunks. Remember the committee doesn't like coaches that might go back and coach someday. They may make Parcells wait anohter year to make sure he doesn't go back to being a GM. Bettis probably makes it along with Dawson. The rest are toss up like Reed.
  15. I hate the WR corp full of undrafted FA's and practice squad guys...Not to mention the complete lack of athleticism at the TE position
  16. Standard negotiating in the NFL. As you correctly pointed out he would have been the third highest paid o-lineman on the team when arguably he should have been top 3 paid LT in the entire game.
  17. Blackmon will be a top 5 pick. SJ will be playing in San Fran, San Diego, or Oakland. B. Smith can't catch. Easley might be a surprise. Parrish will sign a one year deal with a contender for the veteran minimum - hoping that he can shine and get one last big signing bonus. Aiken, Nelson, and all the rest wouldn't make half the other team's practice squads let alone the 53 man roster. What was once a strength is now an unmitigated disaster heading into FA. Once SJ walks they will be in panic mode. Hopefully they sit tight and try to pick up a veteran WR in exchange for a draft pick and draft a WR in the second round. If Easley can play it would be like Santa leaving an extra present...
  18. Winfield, Pat Williams, Clements, Greer, hell even go back to Will Wolford. They all had good teammates, were familiar with the region, and none of them chose to stay. You think Stevie is going to give the Bills a home town discount because of their rich tradition of going to the playoffs year after year, being a contender for the SB, with a top notch coaching staff, well run organization, and top tier QB????
  19. If Evans is cut then he is a FA. Why the hell would he want to come back? Branch went back to play for the best organization in the game with the arguably the best QB of all time. He is better off going to Arizona, New England, Houston, or San Francisco to play opposite other great pass cathcers. Hell even Indianapolis wouldn't be bad with a healthy Manning/Luck and Wayne/Clark.
  20. If they switch to a 4-3 virtually every player is a better fit with the exception of Sheppard. No way he can play MLB. Does anyone know if he played outside at anytime at LSU? Maybe he can be the MLB on passing downs but his coverage was not good. Is that skill or experience? Love our current DL in a 4-3. Hate our OLB's.
  21. San Diego and a reunion with Dungy?
  22. He sucks. I love how in Buffalo we talk about practice squad guys like him and Jasper. New England gets to discuss if Brady is the best of all time... Sheer madness
  23. Until his WR's and anchor of the line and MVP of the team landed on IR...
  24. Besides Houston and Andre Johnson what other teams resign their top WR's. Pittsburgh let Holmes walk, Denver traded Marshall, Pats traded Branch, Saints may let Colston go, Boldin is out in Arozona....the list goes on....Now usually the team gets some compensation but at times it is minimal. I would franchise him and make him earn his money one more year. Why give him a huge signing bonus? Give him the high salary and make him show the league he is a true #1. No way he sits out ten games with the franchise tag. He couldn't afford it - literally.
