  1. Keep grandpa away from the internet. No Steve Young? He is in the conversation for top 5 all time. Bo Jackson? Chris Johnson and Jamal Lewis each had a season over 2000 yards which is just shy of Jackson's career total. Someone has to explain to me Curtis Martin. I never once thought this guy was a HOF player when playing.
  2. Don't mistake intensity for competence. Just because he can throw around MBA buzz words like the process means nothing. There are many different coaching styles that work in the NFL. Let's see what happens on Sundays with clock management, coaches challenges, and game strategy. Those are independent of the talent on the field. Let's see if his style results in less penalties. That is probably a reflection of the coach. I just don't want to hear anything more about Whaley. EJ is gone. This draft and this team is all McDermott now. He has been running the show for FA and the draft from the day he got here. It is all on him. If Gilmore makes the ProBowl it is on McDermott. If White is a superstar DB, give McDermott the credit. If Dawkins wins the RT job then another win for McDermott. If CK is a starting OT for the Lions that is on McDermott as well.
  3. How the hell has it taken 6 pages and no one has pointed out that Sammy Watkins was drafted as a junior and never played his senior year???
  4. Did I miss something? Are passing touchdowns worth more points than rushing touchdowns? Do you get points for passing yards now? Is it like skeetball? Do you get more points for a TD throw over the middle? Bills lead by 11 points against Dolphins with a quarter to play. The defense gave up a 200 yard rusher. Again, even an average defense wins that game by double digits.
  5. Thank you Kirby. I have no idea why this board thinks the cap has had anything to do with any decision the Bills have made.
  6. Only one stat kept the Bills out of the playoffs last year. The number 2. As in two Ryans's screwed the defense up so bad they cost the Bills the post-season. The TT complainers will at least acknowledge he protects the ball and enhances the running game. The WR injuries hurt the attempts/game but again I don't even care. They were 10th in points. They had more than enough offense to make the playoffs. Ryan's defense lost no less than five games and probably more ( am not even counting the finale) - Jets, Seattle, Oakland, Miami x 2. The offense can solely be blamed for the Baltimore loss. Other than that the offense competed every game. I will give you TT and the offense crapped the bed in the second half at Oakland but it was the defense that was truly putrid. Right now the Bills are + 2 in all defensive categories simply by getting rid of the Ryans Agree but pretty sure that bullseye was there last year when Watkins and Woods were injured. Simply having Sammy and any viable #2 WR will make the offense more difficult to defend.
  7. I'm sorry what immature thing has Sammy done?
  8. Can we hate Gillislee now?
  9. He shouldn't do that either. But taking a hit in a meaningless preseason game just doesn't make any sense. Doing what though? He can't be doing more than just lining up and taking a few steps in pass protection.
  10. He is the foundation of the defense. Accept it and move on. He is a top 3 talent at DT. Please let me now what you would have done with Bruce Smith when he got suspended for four games for cocaine.
  11. I'm sorry what do you base this on? It really is an honest question as there is no contact in OTA's. They are glorified walk through practices.
  12. Lol...the board is great unless you are a player wanting a new contract
  13. I have a feeling Dareus is going to be a beast this year. Double digit sacks and a terror all year.
  14. In other news, Garoppolo has already been named to the ProBowl in 2018. "Based on his two games in the league, he has a 50% chance of making it to the HOF", stated Rob Johnson earlier in the day.
  15. Sammy should not play a single snap of preseason.
  16. Yes Elway. I was at the game. I'm fairly sure on Bennett's third snap they lined him up on the same side as Bruce and Elway looked over there and called time-out. Crowd went nuts.
  17. I've always felt Maclin was overrated even with the Eagles. He would be an upgrade at the #2 WR but I would not sign for more than a one year deal. I would give the Jets a 7th for Decker. He was more productive than I thought he was going to be. That said I would take A. Wiliiam or Revis instead.
  18. Which QB did Biscuit sack for his career first? What happened on Biscuit's third play of his career?
  19. Rather have Revis playing safety
  20. The entire premise is horse ****. It was the defense and the coach that kept them out of the playoffs last year. The offense will be better with a probable upgrade at RT, and a healthy #1 and #2 WR. A better question would be what does the defense still need to compliment the top 10 offense? I really like the signing of Hodges. If Lawson improves and Ragland is able to push P. Brown out of a starting job, that only leaves the defensive backfield as a unit still needing to be upgraded. I am not sold on Darby. I would bring back A. Williams to play safety and nickel CB. Maybe take a run at Revis making a transition to FS.
  21. In terms of immediate impact, Smerlas. In terms of HOF, potential, Gary Anderson. What hurt the most emotionally, Thurman Thomas.
  22. Come on it is not that simple. The only reason they have cap money is because there two best FA's left in Gilmore and Woods and they restructured TT. So you can say they did not cut Gilmore and Woods but they are gone just the same, replaced with two rookies. While I agree they have always been able to make moves and big contracts like Clay's have not killed them cap-wise, the cap is still an issue and likely was a factor(not the only) in letting Gilmore and Woods walk.
  23. Not sure how to answer this question, but losing to Pittsburgh's back-ups, starting 5-1 and not making the playoffs, McKelvin's fumble, Cowboy's MNF, and Stevie Johnson's OT drop are all recurring nightmares of the last 16 years
  24. Age and late career renaissance. With Lorax you can say he lost weight and changed positions. But linebackers having their best years in their 30's is just not natural. Harrison has already been implicated. Why wouldn't these guys take PEDs? Look at the money he just earned. Again I don't really care. I hope he can play SLB and Ragland can win the MLB job.
  25. Good story but just as I believe James Harrison is on a PED so do I believe Lorax is on something. Hope it is not true, but at this point if the NFL doesn't care, I really don't either.
