  1. Jonathan Martin, Stanford. Done deal. If Buddy gets these two FA's to sign he can rest until Martin at #10
  2. Dam Bills...5-1 and then crap the bed...I'm a 41 y/o cardioogist and my heart is racing thinking about Mario in Buffalo. WTF is wrong with me. How can growing up in Buffalo do this to a person for the rest of their life??? I haven't even lived there since 1988.... Please Nix get it done before Ralph wakes up from his nap!!!
  3. Maybe this makes the market for Bell a little softer...maybe he and the Bills find common ground on an incentive laden deal - ie. stay healthy and play a whole season and you will be rich
  4. Urbik, Rhinehart, Pears, Chandler, Morrison, Ruvell Martin, Merriman, Barnett, and Fitzpatrick...All were signed to FA deals, had contracts extended, or were offered tenders...none were drafted by the Bills The only players that apply to Nix's philosophy so far are Kyle Williams, Terrence McGee, and Stevie Johnson. If he signs Levitre, Byrd, Freddie, and David Nelson to extensions then maybe we can believe he will follow his very publicly stated philosophy
  5. Fair enough. Maybe I was a bit over dramatic saying he would lose the team...
  6. At some point tough decisions will need to be made. Nix should have extended Stevie or Jackson during the season so he couls have applied that money to 2011. Now he may be in a tight spot with Freddie especially if he breaks the bank on a FA. But as another poster stated, Nix basically promised it will get done and he will lose the team (fan base as well but we don't matter) if he stiffs Freddie. Of the three however Levitre is most important to the long term success of the team. Hard to tell if Byrd is special or not. Rookie year was a wet dream of overthrown passes. Last two years are the great unknown. The defense could not stop the run in 2010 so little reason for teams to pass and there was even less pass rush in 2011 than 2010. Tough call. Wouldn't shock me if Byrd is the odd man out maybe with Wilson moving to FS and Searcy to SS.
  7. I have nothing to prove this, but my gut tells me Peyton Manning and that system made Dallas Clark a superstar. I am not sure he is as talented as his numbers suggest. Add in his age and injury history, I don't think he fits in Buffalo. That being said I agree with other posters that the Bills still need to address the TE position. Perhaps in the third or fourth round.
  8. Not opposed to bringing back Scott but I believe the three safeties that will play are Wilson, Byrd and Searcy. Not sure if Searcy can push Wilson out of a job or if Searcy is so good that they let Wilson compete with Byrd for free safety spot. Maybe Searcy competes for SS starter in 2013. Regardless there are times when they have three safeties on the field and their will be packages/match ups where they will want Scott's and Searcy's size at SS.
  9. Look where they were those QB's were taken. Most of the recent QB busts have been in the top 3 picks so someone who was qualified to run their teams draft felt they would succeed in the NFL. Draft is total crap shoot...
  10. Great now if Miami can sign Peyton (one hit away from retirement) Manning to a huge cap killing contract it will set both of their franchises back 2-4 years...
  11. This is a salary dump by the Colts. A fourth round pick is all I would give up. Agree with others, I would use the money and cap space on Mario Williams or Vincent Jackson
  12. If they can somehow get Bell to sign a reasonable deal prior to FA this would be one hell of a week for Nix. It already is a dam good start to the off season. While others may want VJ or Mario Williams the first day of FA, I'm hoping they sneak into New Orleans get some red beans and rice while signing Marques Colston.
  13. What he said!!!!! Martin or DeCastro (with Levitre and his alligator arms moving to LT) at #10. He said in his press conference they are going to draft a tackle and Bell can't stay healthy... Martin at #10 done deal
  14. Martin at #10 is the best option, he may be BPA(other than DeCastro)at that spot and fills a need
  15. Not bad. You can forget the pencil, and use ink for Martin at #10.
  16. My bad. Was Farve cut or traded to the Jets? Johnny Unitas was cut by the Colts. Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith were both released. At the time they were (and still are) in the discussion for greatest of all time at their positions. Rice obvioulsy had a little left in the tank, Emmitt not so much.
  17. Joe Montana - He had won more SuperBowls and he proved he could still play when he went to KC. Young was the heir apparent just as Luck is now.
  18. Martin or DeCastro at #10, then a DE and OLB in second and third rounds, followed by a WR project, a center, a CB, and TE in no particular order... If they sign a pass rusher in FA then move WR to the second round.
  19. This is an interesting situation for Buddy. How can he offer more to VJ than what he just signed SJ? No room to neogtiate. Maybe that is a blessing. He can say here is the same contract take it or leave it. A WR corps of VJ, SJ, Easley, Nelson, and Jones would look pretty good - on paper.
  20. He is not but the franchise tag is to prevent player movement not to assign a value to a player
  21. Stevie is in the middle of the pack. He is worth the money if you have the cap room to spend. Losing him with Easley being a complete unknown means they would have to spend even more for Vincent Jackson or Colston, or trade for DeSean Jackson.
