  1. Strange things always happen in the draft. Floyd could easily go to St. Louis and Blackmon could fall. There could be a run on CB's early. Tannehill could fall to ten and we could auction him to the highest bidder. If they can get an extra third round pick by dropping back 10 spots and still get a LT they should do it. Then they can either use that extra third round pick along with their second to go back into the first round and get Coby Fleener, a CB, or a WR. And while mocing down and picking up an extra second next year would not be the worst outcome I think most of us would prefer a player now as opposed to an extra pick next year.
  2. Personally I liked spending most of my Saturday watching the draft and/or texting my brothers who got drafted where. I hate the overnight wait to get to round two.
  3. What is wrong with playing a Winter game indoors instead of at the Ralph? Much better than playing in Toronto in October. Everyone knows December games in Buffalo are difficult to sell out. Seattle made as much sense as any other team to play in Toronto. I like it. I am not saying it will determine if the Bills stay or go, but would you rather have 7 games at the Ralph or none in Western NY??? Eight on the waterfront in Buffalo should be the city's goal...
  4. I'm not an Oregon fan but live here and wathced him. He is simply too small to play the game. He is significantly thinner than RG3 and nowhere near the athlete Vick or Newton is. I'm not trying to compare him only to black QB's and ironically he looks like Tommy Maddux did when Denver drafted him. He has decent arm strength but has had a number of injuries. He is too small to take a beating. All that being said, had he not blown out his ACL, he would have won the Heisman and Oregon would have played in the national championship game his senior year. He was having a magical senior year.
  5. Isn't anyone concerned about the crap level of competition Kuechly played against?
  6. Not even close. I would let Bledose and Kurt Warner get to the final 15 before McNabb and still not vote for any of them. Well said. And why Lynn Swann is in the HOF with ridiculously low career numbers.
  7. In retrospect they had no idea what talent they had. Would they have drafted Spiller knowing how good Freddie was going to be? I doubt it. They started Trent Edwards over Fitz again. But again Nix and Gailey tell it like they see it. They said before that draft that they did not have enough playmakers on the field. They drafted Spiller because he was a playmaker. One could argue he may have been more of a need pick, at least in Nix's eyes, than a BPA. This year Nix has said repeatledy they are going to draft tackles. Still a very good chance it is Reiff or Matin at #10. Kiper's wet dream draft of getting Floyd at #10 and Martin in the second round is very unlikley to happen.
  8. Didn't Nix also say drafting at #10 the guy should be a starter right away. While that does not rule out Floyd - even though few rookie WR's contribute significantly let alone start - I don't think Kuechly starts right away. Merriman and Morrison have experience and I doubt he beats out Sheppard. He likely only gets time as a situational pass rusher for the first half of the season. A LT drafted at #10 would be an immediate starter with Hairston being the swing tackle. I'm not saying that is what is going to happen, just saying you can rationalize anything you want out of any comments, smirks, winks, head bobs, or slips of the tounge they make...
  9. LOL....Guy 5-25 are all the same...there is no BPA at #10 in this draft
  10. Agreed. If great workouts inflate average players, a bad workout may undervalue great players. He can get stromger and he has the size and feet to play LT. Hairston is the swing tackle or competes fot the starting RT job. If you can't beatem joinem... Coby Fleener
  11. You think Rams take Blackmon over Kalil? Maybe... I suppose they could still get a LT later in the first round
  12. I was more thinking one of those players would be available at #6. Unless Floyd is taken over Blackmon he will be gone by #10. However Tannehill need only be bypassed by Miami at #8 and he will be there at #10 - just don't see the Browns taking him unless they move down a few spots and pick up an extra pick along the way. Tannehill available at #10 would be a great scenario for the Bills to get a shot to trade down a few spots.
  13. This could easily happen. They play against Aaron Rodgers, Calvin Johnson, and Jay Cutler six times a year. They have a need at CB just as much as LT. With Joe Thomas in Cleveland the Browns coudl auction that pick to the highest bidder, either St. Louis or the Bills, and probably still get Tannehill, Blackmon, or possibly even Richardson. Anyone think this could happen? If you were the Vikings would you take Kalil, Claiborne, or trade back a few spots and hope Claiborne is still there???
  14. Or Evans was signed to help teach Floyd...But I seriously doubt Evans signing a one year deal changes a draft board
  15. Kalil in a trade up, Floyd if they stay at #10, Martin if they can trade down
  16. Throwing, running, and cathcing all start with blocking up front...
  17. This team needs to make the playoffs this year. I think they should make a power move for Kalil. Minnesota is years away from being a contender in that division and they need multiple picks. They have too many holes to fill. I would do whatever it takes to move to #3 and get Kalil. I would give up next years number one and this years second to move up those 7 spots. With Easley coming back and perhaps a healthy Merriman they may not have as many holes as we think. LT is a gaping hole that could take down the entire offense. Shock the world like they did with Super Mario and go get the LT this team has needed since Wolford was stolen from us. Then use the rest of the draft on depth at LB, CB, and WR. A stud LT completes the entire O-line. Hairston is the swing back-up. By not moving Levitre out to LT they have three interior lineman in that can all play LG, C, and RG while Wood is on PUP list until about week 8. This team doesn't need Floyd or Ingram, it needs a LT that does not need RB help. That allows Spiller and Freddie to motion out of the backfield and create nightmare match up problems against LB's. The pass rush will be better than last year no matter who plays at LB. There is no tomorrow. There is no tomorrow. There is no tomorrow...
  18. Last year they took Johnny White and Michael Jasper. They contributed zero to the team and will likely never be contributors. The whole draft is a crap shoot and the odds get only worse later in the draft. The only arguement not to take a QB is that they can't contribute on special teams. Well if they are on the PS they can't play special teams either. I would have no issue with them taking a QB on day 3, especially if it is Cousins(though he may be gone in round 2) or Kellen Moore. Could those two be any worse than Levi Brown???
  19. I'm hoping he has a breakout year too but he is as good as gone after this year. If he has a breakout year he will command a big slary as a FA. If the best he can do is nickel back he won't be resigned unless he comes on the cheap. They will draft at least one and probably two CB's this draft and sign two more college FA's.
  20. Character with no talent gets you 12 years with no playoffs
  21. Long allows your QB time to find the open WR. Put enough WR's in the spread and protect the QB and there is always one open. Willis is great but he doesn't rush the passer. Protect the passer and rush the passer. That is the formula for success. And possibly for a lesser reason, which position is likely to have a star last longer. I would argue LT>WR>LB.
  22. Exactly...It is the money that would be needed to sign him that is the roadblock not the draft pick.
  23. WR and LT and even CB are much higher need than MLB. Need to add a couple of LB's later in the draft but not at #10. Would rather have Decastro if going to go with BPA at #10 if people feel the LT's are reaches at #10.
