  1. Nix just called them and offered a firth round pick
  2. Agreethat an improved overall talnet level means less draft picks will make the team. But a fifth round LB that can't make this team with these LB's is horrible talent assessment. I'm sorry but nix is just not goodat evaluating college players. His first two drafts are awful. Dareus was a no brainer. Only one QB taken in three drafts. wasted picks on trades. I'm not sold on A. Williams. All of thr low roundcontributors on this team were from previous regimes. Nix seems much better at FA assessment than college players.
  3. I can't place Manning at the top. Best regular season QB of all time? Maybe. He has been average at best in the post-season.
  4. 1. Brady 2. Montana 3. Graham 4. Manning 5. Unitas 6. Youngh 7. Marino 8. Elway 9. Favre 10. Tarkenton, Stauhbach, Aikman, Kelly, Starr, Bradshaw, Namath, Stabler,
  5. Count me skeptical it will work as well as advertised. If it allosw movement of the chest to run and pass how is it going to prevent a dislocated rib..Sure it may lessen the direct impact but will it lessen the abnormal motion of the chest/ribs when he is getting hit by a 285 lb lineman and driven into the ground? And it was his shoulder and hand that cost him games last year wasn't it?
  6. only one reply maybe a more titilating title would have worked better Ahhhh, it's a Tit mouse!
  7. Edwards is a moron. He is annoying as hell. Gailey's decision making leaves much to be desired both in personnel choices, both players and coaches, and play calling. In my mind three years is plenty of time to get this team to the playoffs. You can't use the excuse that Fitz isn't good enough. Gailey chose to go with him so if Fitz craps the bed this year it is just as much on him and NIx as it is on Fitz.
  8. What early evidence? The fact that Seattle's FO is more inept than ours and paid millions and gave up draft picks for Charie Whitehurst and Matt Flynn. Now they have a 5'10" QB and millions of dollars in salary cap space wasted on another back-up QB. For 2012 I will take a burner at WR who can hopefully stretch the field just enough to open up the passing game, keep the SS from crowding the LOS, and maybe hit a long TD a few times. That may be all this offense needs to get us to the playoffs.
  9. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000055554/article/darrelle-revis-jason-pierrepaul-among-bluered-chips-on-defense Some of his picks seem more like cow chips than blue chips... Hutchison and Lynch picks are laughable. Hutchison is a first ballot HOF guard who has been awful for two years. If he wants to leave Freddie off because of injury he could have at least noted that. He was leading the league in rushing when he got hurt. Lynch blue chip??? I could list 15 RB's better than him and I really like Lynch as a player. That he has Polamalu listed at all seems nuts to me. He has lost a step and simply can not cover in zone or man to man (unless competing against back-ups and VY). His run support is still quite good but he can not stay healthy and takes too many chances/bad angles to try to make up for his lost speed. I am honestly surprised how high he has Byrd listed. I hope he is right and he plays himself into a franchise player tag. I guess I just don't see the game breaking plays. What was it game 10 or 11 before his first INT last year? I truly hope the total inability to stop the run, rush the paspassernd the incompetence of George Edwards were holding him back. If he really is as good as Lombardi thinks then Nix would be wise to get him signed this week. Lastly I know I am a Bills homer, but I would list Levitre over all the other guards except Nicks, Evans, and grudgingly Mankins just for his guard play alone. That he can play LT in a pinch makes him invaluable. I don't think any of the others have played LT before. And how awesome is it to see Oher, Ngata, Gronkowski, Mangold, Lynch, Revis, and Orapko on the list and not Wood, Whitner, McKelvin, Spiller, Maybin, and Troup??? Your thoughts....
  10. If Fitz flames out, Buddy and Chan will be long gone by the time the draft rolls around I do not disagree at all with drafting a QB on the first or second day of the new draft. However if you think the LB's, WR's and TE's do not need an upgrade I have a waterbug RB I would like to sell you... And that is hoping the RG we have playing LT pans out while wincing everytime Wood falls to the ground...A great QB and awesome DL can overcome the crap we have for WR's and LB's. By week 14 we will know if Fitz was good enough...
  11. That seem like a lot of cap money on the QB and pass catchers. I'm sure they will do the opposite of the Bills and keep their RB salaries in the low rent district and just find any guy that can block in the passing game and not fumble. Hopefully this limits their ability to build a veteran defense. The Patriots have drafted poorly on that side of the ball and rookie d-lineman and DB's don't develop that fast.
  12. Smith went second overall. Is he as big a bust as Mike Williams? Seems like the Jets got the better end of the trade, Smith is still young and Hunter is done.
  13. What amazing analysis...Just about every arm chair QB saw that last year. No team bothered to even play defense 10-12 yards beyond the line of scrimmage. Even in the Giants game, if Fitz hits that long pass we win. They take their chances that the CB's can stay with our WR's which they usually do and that our beat up offensive line couldn't block long enough which is probably not entirely true nor false.
  14. The pre-season has not changed my opinion that our WR's and LB's are horrible. As groups they are bottom feedersin the NFL. Add in the TE's and it only gets worse. If I had confidence Fitz or Gailey could make a difference I wouldn't worry so much but I do not. Gailey has not shown the ability to stop throwing and just run the ball. What has not changed is my opinion of the very workable schedule. If they can steam roll the Jets opening week, get on a roll, and keep the O-line healthy they can make the playoffs.
  15. You think...He has the best QB in the history of the game(I just vomitted in my mouth) throwing to him. You think mastermind Gailey and Fitz would get the same production out of Gronkowski. Gailey probably would still start Campbell.
  16. Bills need them to beat up Cincinnatti and Baltimore. If those teams sweep the Steelers it will make the wild-card race even tighter and more likely to come down to a bunch of tie breakers...
  17. Which means what? Nothing that's right. Whether he succeeds or fails has nothing to do with how fast he runs the 40. He might run it a full second faster than Tom Brady and a Peyton may never have run 40 yards in his life, but I will take them as my QB.
  18. Easley is gone next week. Carrington as well if the insist he play DT. He is a DE just as Moats is an OLB. If I were Carrington I would ask for a trade to a 3-4 team.
  19. I think with McKelvin's play and the fact McGee is starting to get healthy, they only keep 3 true safeties - Wilson, Byrd, and Searcy - and 6 CB's - Gilmore, Williams, Brooks, McGee, Rogers, and McKelvin. Scott is the third option at SS and A. Williams is the third option at FS with Wilson mocing to FS and Searcy starting at SS if something happens to Byrd. That frees up an extra spot for 3 kickers or an extra offensive lineman.
  20. Is there any chance they keep a punter on a PS? I'm surprised they would keep two punters at this point. I have posted I thought Moorman would be the surprise cut of camp and I wonder if they have not made a choice yet. If they have not maybe they are holding onto Powell until the end so he doesn't get a chance to try out for other teams. Still seems crazy to have a punter on the PS and I doubt it will happen.
  21. He tore his ACL in an off-season workout I thought... He's better than any of the supposed #2 WR's on the squad now but that still doesn't make him good and worth the headache. It is just an indictment on the WR's on the team now.
  22. They were taken seriously last year after their fast start. Don Banks had them in the playoffs. Then they fell apart. Over a decade of no playoffs means that until they lock up a playoff spot they shouldn't be taken seriously...
  23. Now they are saying a second and another conditional 2013 pick. Good trade for the Fish if Davis' skills has eroded and he was truly no better than a nickel DB. Either way they are in full-on rebuilding mode. Just hope Tannehill flames out...
