Say what you will about DJ but his players always seem to play hard and were ready to play. While it was frustrating to lose 10-6 with no offense to speak of, at least the defense kept things close. These last few years of defense have been histroically bad.

Chan said it was Neslon's fault in the post game interview. He read it wrong and turend the wrong way. You don't think every defense knows what the other team's offense is going to do. Do you think the Patriots are going to line up with a FB and run up the middle? Kelly and Thurman ran the counter -tre for years and everyonw knew it was coming and they couldn't stop it. It comes down to execution. Nelson turned the wrong way and the ball was already out of Fitz's hand. Pick six. I think it is fair to say they shouldn't be drawing up plays with three yard pass patterns but how many of those same plays does Welker run.

It is one of the hardest positions to learn as a rookie and play early. QB, DT, and WR usually take the longest to develop. RB, LB, and o-lineman tend to be able to start right away. Still it owuld have been nice to see him out there running some deep routes at least as a decoy.

First let Graham play. If your third round pick that you had to trade up to get can't get playing time with this bunch of WR's then the entire FO needs to go. Explore trade with Indianapolis for Reggie Wayne. I can't think of any other decent WR on a team going nowhere...oh wait can we give up a second round pick to trade Stevie back to ourselves??? Bring in Branch, TO, and Plax and let them try out with broken pool cues... In all seriousness, what about Parrish in the slot? He should know the offense and he might last two or three weeks before getting hurt again. That would give a little more time for Graham to develop or a trade opportunity to materialize...

I just watched Chan and Fitz's post game interviews. Looks like it was on Nelson making the wring read on the coverage and they were trying not to blame it on him. It would explain why in the hell he threw it there. It wouldn't explain why they keep running three yard pass patterns. Fitz had time to see the other guy - I think Jones - open to the same side running a corner route. With the DB sitting in the short zone area the corner route should be there as even in a two deep safety look it will be hard for the safety to get to the sideline. Bad read by Nelson, horrible decision by Fitz, bad play design by Gailey, or all of the above...

If your owner's life span is measured in days and not years then yes your situation is unsettled/tenuous/troubled/on the brink/potentially devastating...you choose the right words. If the late Art Modell can move the Browns out of Cleveland then whoever owns the Bills can move them to LA in a heartbeat...

Agreed...The WR's are awful unless Jones has more talent than we have seen due to his injuries. I'm not counting on anything from Graham. I hope they line up Stevie, double TE, and two RB's and then motion Spiller out against a LB. If a safety goes with him then Stevie will be on Revis Island or one of the TE's will have a LB on him. Spiller can beat any player in their back 7 including Revis.

Have to agree with Nix and Gailey that there is no one on the roster then and now that has that kind of speed and explosiveness... Certainly no one on offense. Hopefully Graham can put his straight line speed to work. Maybe McKelvin has that speed on defense and it would be a huge boost to the defense if he figures it out this year... Good God Sunday can't get here fast enough!!! You sure he isn't the best WR?

It is more than one game in 16 when you consider the tie breaker issues. It is obvioulsy not a must win but it is very important. A road division win is critical. They can lose at San Francisco and even drop the Toronto game, but they need the Tenn, Indy, and Jax game.

Love your enthusiasm and optimism but to me it means the starting LB's are awful. I'm really worried about a falloff in Barnett's play and have never been sold on Sheppard. Hope I am wrong.

I hope he stays on the PS all year and never sees the field. I hope Jones, Nelson, and Graham stay relatively healthy all year and Easley has to fight for a roster spot next year. I hope our running game is so effective that all we need is 4 WR's. I hope we see more tight end and less 5 WR. I hope to see Spiller mathced up against a LB. I hope Jasper has something else in life besides football becasue his career is over.

Run, eat clock, touchback on kickoffs, force Sanchez to throw, let the DL loose, and if he is going to take a chance don't throw a fly pattern on 4-1 in Jets territory

He was outcoached in the most important game in modern Buffalo history. He was abysmal as a GM. Please don't go there with the figure head arguement. He was the GM and if he was not ultimately responsible for the decisions made then that is his problem. His best skill seems to have been ego management. Maybe this was him or it was others in the locker room. We may never know. But while he was HC they went from the Bickering Bills to four SuperBowls. In my mind those teams were Bill Polian's teams not Marv Levy's teams. When RW dies, the team is moved, and the history of the Bills is written, the most important figures will be RW, Bill Polian, OJ Simpson, and Lou Saban.

I applaud Nix/Gailey for giving up on VY. I will admit I thought it was a good signing. What is unforgivable is only draftng one QB in three years when your starter is at best mediocre, and the back-up situation is now a mess. They wasted late round draft picks on trading up to get a WR that they likely could have gotten anyways and a LB that gets cut and not even signed to the PS. I have no faith in Nix and his draft acumen. I suspect any success he was associated with was Butler and AJ Smith. However to not even take a chance on a mid to late round QB other than Levi Brown is shameful.
