  1. 15 pages for a punter??? WTF I predicted Powell would win the job in camp but Moorman withstood the challenge until those shanks on Sunday. Gailey hinted at them in his press conference but still didn't expect it. For the record I also predicted Merriman would be a great situational pass rusher this year...
  2. I would rather see them cut Thigpen this week and add a WR or LB. Either bring Easley up and add a PS WR or sign a guy to play special teams. If Easley can't play special teams shame on him. I would be ok with adding another LB that can play ST's. It's time to end the 3 QB plus Smith nonsense. I think they will be ok at RB. Jackson will play and Spiller is still not ruled out. Choice and White are good enough for one week even if FJ can't go.
  3. I think Spiller may play this week. If he has full range of motion as has been reported and it is just a pain issue they can inject the shoulder to get him through the game. If it doesn't swell or get worse during the week I bet he plays.
  4. Peters was the best LT in football and the Bills didn't want to pay him. They argued they paid him more money than he would have made if he had been a high draft pick and stuck with the original rookie deal. He was able to renegotiate earlyh because he was an UDFA. He and his agent felt their was a market for him that ouwl pay top dollar. They were right. Let's just move on. The got Wood out of the deal and he is the anchor of the line. Now just don't repeat past mistakes. They have the best line in football and the right side is on the cheap. Pay Wood and Levitre now. Deal with Hairston and Glenn in a couple years.
  5. Because it was the right thing to do. The routine professional and respectful actions are rarely celebrated.
  6. He's 12th in the league in passer rating...pick your stat...since passer rating places a huge weight on TD's and INT's I would rather follow that
  7. The "empty hand" only makes sense if the ball goes forward after the QB or the ball is hit by a defender. In that case it is rather easy for the ball to move forward because the momentum (P=MV) of the defender enters into the equation.
  8. Not that I disagree, but honestly how much respect does a punter get in the locker room. I'm guessing not very much. If he keeps shanking his punts the defense won't care much about his civic duties. And yes those two punts were shanks even though he was kicking away from Cribbs.
  9. I think Spiller's size and upper body strength gets overshadowed by his breakaway speed. I've seen him break several tackles of lineman and LB's not just DB's. Maybe Cookie is the better comparison. I never saw him play but from what I have read he had power and speed just a notch below Simpson.
  10. From a different perspective, can you really fault guys for holding out and wanting to get their contracts redone? What if FJ hadn't redone his deal prior to the season and goes down in week 1 with a season ending knee injury. I know Revis already cashed in to some degree but even the Jets have stated his deal was meant to be reworked early. Now he will be renegotiating not as the best CB in the league but as a guy coming off an ACL tear. Yes surgery has gotten better and recovery is expected but still there are cases like LeCharles Bentley and others. Only the signing bonus is guaranteed in the NFL. I'm not saying the players are always right but you can see why they want to redo their deals before something catastrophic happens. It seems lately the guys that show up for OTA's and camp get rewarded and the one's like Jones-Drew and Deshaun Jackson don't. Of course Revis held out and got his contract a couple years ago.
  11. The Patriots defense is awful. The offensive line is in shambles. They just need to find a way to stop Welker. We won't get to Brady often. They won't let him take 7 step drops or stand in the pocket waiting for deep patterns to develop. The DB's need to hit Welker at the LOS and sit in short zones just like opposing defenses do to Fitz. Gronk will get his yards because it has been pre-ordained that Buffalo can not cover TE's. Someone needs to light Welker up on a crossing route. I would line up A. Williams across from Welker. He is strong enough to reroute Welker and quick enough to stay with him. Double him up with a MLB - Sheppard in the base or Barnett in the nickel. And then hope the refs call it fair and we get our share of holding calls. There is no way that O-line can stop our front four.
  12. It's the Patriots. The Ravens player will get fined for the bruise he gave Solder's foot when it glanced off his helmet.
  13. That comment is old school. Even Gailey has moved away from the idea you can't run the ball effectively out of the shotgun. I have heard many others say RB's prefer that they have a step or two head start before getting the ball. That is what the Pistol allows. Bills have run that formation, QB about 3-4 yards behind center and RB 2-3 yards direclty behind QB. Lastly it isn't even accurate. Bills run plenty standard offensive sets even with a FB. Spiller is running hard inside and is a complete back. He isn't the waterbug Gailey talked about. He is the total package.
  14. Happens all the time. People walk around with torn ACL's that never even get fixed. The Spurs have apower forward from Pitt I think that is missing both his ACL's. Didn't Tiger win the US Open with a torn ACL?
  15. they beat Arizona on the road with me and my two boys at the game!
  16. He had better be fined. Fox got $20,000 just for verbal abuse. If Godell had any backbone he would suspend him for next weeks game. Total deuchbaggery...
  17. Yes but don't let that stop people from blaming the refs...Collinsworth was right it should have been holding not illegal contact. So what, it is still a 5 yard automatic first down.
  18. If I were his agent I would talk him into signing with any team that will switch him to free safety. He simply can not locate the ball when he has to turn. I don't think this is something that can be fixed with coaching. At safety he never has to turn away from the QB. The action is always in front of him. I really don't think it is his intelligence. He doesn't seem to be out of position. He just can't keep his feet/hands in the right spot with respect to the WR and the ball at the last moment. Maybe because they as players know he has the skills and if he can overcome the mental part he can be a great player. I don't agree that he will ever make it in this league at DB but as above I think he would be crazy good at FS.
  19. Horrible call. But still Fitz can't let that happen. If he completes that pass it could have been a 21-0 lead. That would have forced the Browns to pass more. In the end it didn't matter as the D stepped up against the run and rushed the passer well late.
  20. Tampon Two is hard to throw deep against. It is designed to give up the underneath stuff and wait for the offense to make a mistake. Bills attacked it well. If they play two deep that means there are only 7 in the box and that is a win for our offensive line and run game.
  21. Agree with DC Grid, pretend to call the time out and then rush like usual.
  22. Jamaal Charles ran for 233 today against the Saints and was held to 3 yards by the Bills - Hillis did rush 11 for 66 that day. Trent Richardson held to less than three yards a carry. Looks like great team defense. Barnett looks great against the run. The D-line is dominating the LOS. Any thougth on Sheppard and Moats in run support?
  23. Clavicle fracture would have been easily picked up on x-ray. Probably doesn't need an MRI as any decent ortho-pod that does an exam should be able to tell if it is a sprain or a disclocation. Doesn't matter though as they will throw him in the scanner as soon as he wakes up Monday.
