  1. Fitz threw it to the goal line...If Graham cuts underneath he walks in to the end-zone... Dam...
  2. 1. McKelvin is assigned Welker in man coverage and follows him all over the field. He and maybe Brooks are the only guys quick enough to stay with Welker. 2. The Spiller/Jackson ratio is 3:1. Spiller is dynamic. Jackson is plodding. What Gailey said years ago is true. The team needs dynamic players. What is so frustrating is that he has one that he drafted and refuses to use him. 3. The Bills odd man blitz from multiple angles using DB's and LB's. Effective pass rush is the only way to beat Marcia. He and Montana are the best QB's of all time. He must be blitzed mercilessly and just take your chances the coverage can hold up. If you give him time he will dissect even eight men in coverage. Pass rush and ball control offense is the only way
  3. This team needs more than one LB but Teo is not top 10 quality. If the team does not sweep Miami and Indy they will be drafting around 8-11. If they go 5-3 down the stretch they wil be drafitn arounf 15-18 and Teo may be decent value there.
  4. Mike Leach is an f'in !@#$. This guy has routinely ripped hi splayers in public and god knows what he has said at practice. He is quoted as saying their play was bordering on cowardice. He is a fat piece of **** that couldn't run 100 yards without passing out. He makes hundreds of thousands of dollars and seems to forget these are student athletes. He went to Washington St. to rehab his image, now he wil be lucky to get an OC job with a division III school.
  5. Young started for two years for the Bucs before ever coming to the 49ers via trade...but your point is well taken. If you currently have one of the 5 best QB's in the history of the NFL and not quite sure about their longevity be it from age or injury then go ahead and try to find a successor. But for every Steve Young and Aaron Rodgers there are many Todd Collin's, Mark Malone's, and Tommy Maddux's.
  6. Dumbest thing I've seen in a while...Besides Aaron Rogers name another QB that waited 3-5 years to start. And the only reason it took Rogers so long is Favre had a rebirth for a couple years.
  7. There is a massive difference between fourth and inches and fourth and 2. I can not recall a QB sneak for fourth and inches failing. I'm sure it has but I can not remember a single attempt failing. Fourth and two is much different. That is not a QB sneak play. If it is a run it involves a hand off in the backfield. Not infrequently DB's and safeties are coming off the edge and disrupting the play in the backfield as the defense play man with no safety over the top figuring it will be a run. That being said 4th and 2 on the opponents 37 early in the game I say go for it. How often do you see a punt for a ttouch-backand all you net is 17 yards. If you are playing with a lead sure maybe you try to pin them deep. But a missed FG is worse than failing to get the first down. The best idea is to know ahead of time that if they are facing a fourth and short the QB can go no huddle and try to get the defense to at least burn a time-out or catch them unprepared. Oregon does that very very well.
  8. Double TE sets and Spiller rushes for 175...Bills 31-17.... Season hopes alive!!!
  9. The team needs at least two if not three LB's and a WR. Go ahead and draft a QB but this team is losing because the LB's can't tackle anyone and the DC is outclassed. Didn't Fitz look better with TO and Evans??? Just saying... This team needs Graham to develop more quickly or they need to sign a very good #2 WR. LB's can play immediately. Draft at least two if not three next year. WR's take time to develop and a FA signing would be much more valuable. Will need to draft at least another DB unless they sign Routt(sp?) and he plays decent.
  10. Someone can correct me on this but I think the Bills are only on the hook for the balance of DJ's salary minus whatever he earns for his salary as DC for the Browns. Still a chunk of money but not the whole paycheck. Pretty sure about this...
  11. Resign/franchise Levitre. Byrd will walk and be an All-Pro in Baltimore for years. Bring back McKelvin if possible. Move A. Williams to FS and let McKelvin and Brooks battle for starting time. Draft WR and LB. There are no franchise QB's in the upcoming draft besides Smith and he will probably be gone. Barkely will be no better than Leinart. In fact I would rather take a flyer on Sanchez if he gets cut instead of wasting a first round pick on Barkely.
  12. BPA I agree nothing new will happen w/o new ownership. I have been to many stadiums. The Seahawks and Arizona being the two most recent. I've been to Oakland and I can't argue with you there - the place is a dump. Kansas City is no better/no worse than RW. Lambeau has history and I hope to make it there soon. I've also been to Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Detroit, Dallas, and Indianaoplis - all before the new stadiums were built however. All those stadiums were no better or worse than RW. Now all those new stadiums are better than RW. I'd say Candlestick is worse but they are getting a new stadium soon. The Meadowlands is no better no worse. So if it will make you happy the RW is 30th out of 32. Add in the Roger's Centre and the Bills are 31st out of 32. The league has long ago moved away from 80K seat beer/piss/smoke nightmares. Now the stadiums are complexes with shopping, high quality food and drink, less drunks, satellite TV, pre-game fan activities (Bills do better than anyone BTW), wide concourses, and clean bathrroms... Wax nostalgic all you want but the RW is an awful place to spend hundreds of dollars... And that isn't even with considering the product on the field....
  13. BPA are you defending that concrete disaster of a stadium that is as old and broken down as the steel industry is in Buffalo?
  14. And good bye to many drunk and rude fans...less seats, better amenities, and higher prices make for a way better experience...
  15. First that never happens. Second even if they try to win they can still get a high draft pick. If they lose to New England, Indy, and split or worse with Miami this coaching staff is done.
  16. When has Ralph not been willing to fire guys? In the recent past only Modrak seems to have outlasted his usefulness. He got rid of Donahoe. I'm sure he helped Marv see the exit sign. He went after Shanahan and Cowher. For God's sake, Schottenhiemer's kid turned us down. What a joke... The players are still willing to sign because Ralph has paid plenty in FA contracts. Why they didn't just give in to Peters I have no idea - but other owners get pissed when guys look for extra money after just signing a deal a few years earlier. Out best shot is to get an up and coming DC. I am fine with Chan for one more year. You can't blame the offense. Yes I would like to see more Spiller and less Fitz. But I would much rather see a defense that can get turnovers and get the offense a short field to work with.
  17. I love Spiller but why run him on 3rd and 1? That should have been FJ's run. The drops killed them today. The offense never was explosive but without the drops everything was clicking. Huge momentum killers. The missed FG was brutal too. A third down slant pattern hit and Fitz put it exactly where it was supposed to be. It hit him in hans/shoulders. Great route that would have been a first down catch. They need to fake that slant and have Stevie break back up the sideline. He will have 5 steps on the DB if Fitz makes a good hard fake.
  18. Outside of Graham none of our WR's can get deep on a regular basis. And yes Fitz has horrible accuracy issues going deep. So wouldn't you say Gailey is coaching to the team's strength and away from it's weaknesses??? The only problem I have is that if you don't call some long passes and at least try a few the defense just squats at ten yards. There has to be a way to get over the top of them. Not knowing a dam thing, I would line up Graham in the slot or as part of a bunch formation so he has less of a chance to get jammed at the LOS. I would attack the deep middle. If Fitz has had any success on 20 + yard passes it has been down the seams as opposed to outside.
  19. Everyone pencilled this game as a loss at the beginning of the season. The killer was Tenn. Now New England becomes a make or break game. They pull off the upset on the road and the playoffs are a real possibility. They could run the table after New England. Don't give up hope just yet.
  20. Defense did fine for a half. Hmmm what could have been the difference??? We blitzed some in the first half and we didn't at all in the second. Another weak effort by Wanny. There is absolutely no energy on our defense. No one delivers crushing blows. It is more passive than DJ's. Absolutely pitiful. There was not one legit chance at a turnover the entire game.
  21. Wrong game to criticize Fitz. He played great. There were at least three passes dropped that would have went for first downs and they were all easy catches to make. Schaub threw one pass over thirty yards. Fitz played well enough to win. Not to mention he took some vicious shots and kept getting back up.
  22. As someone else mentioned, Chandler dropped a pass for a first down. That was one of three drops that would have went for first downs.
