  1. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this but the 2000 draft also produced a certain QB named Tom Brady. Taken that selection byt the Patriots and what he has nearly single handedly done to this team, cements 2000 as the worst draft in Bills history. But just to make you feel better/worse the rest of the Patriots draft sucked that year. Round Overall Player Position College 2 46 Adrian Klemm Offensive tackle Hawaii 3 76 J. R. Redmond Running back Arizona State 4 127 Greg Robinson-Randall Offensive tackle Michigan State 5 141 Dave Stachelski Tight end Boise State 5[7] 161 Jeff Marriott Defensive tackle Missouri 6 187 Antwan Harris Safety Virginia 6 199 Tom Brady Quarterback Michigan 6 201 David Nugent Defensive end Purdue 7 226 Casey Tisdale Linebacker New Mexico 7 239 Patrick Pass Fullback Georgia If just by luck the Bills happened on this kid from Michigan instead of the cheater one has to wonder how different it all could have been...
  2. Evans and Parrich were the only good players. That is 2 out 22. Denney and Wire were too small and too slow to play in the NFL Reed was just awful. Never made one signature play/catch his entire NFL career and guys around here think he was great Losman was just dumb. Honestly how can they talk to him for more than 30 minutes and not realize he is mentally inadequate to play QB
  3. I totally agree with another poster. Raise the ticket prices at RW and make more money that way. This might clean up fan beahoir a little bit as well. Southern Ontario fans will come to the RW or better yet a stadium on the lakefront. This deal is not needed and supports the notion the area can't support a team. It will ultimately be used against the public when it is time to negotiate a new stadium.
  4. Delusions of grandeur...He is an average safety at best. He is borderline awful in coverage and is no where near the hitter that Pollard is.
  5. They are all wrong some of the time. Trade down and increase your chances of being right. This team needs three LB's, a WR, a TE, a back-up DB, and a franchise QB. All that assumes Byrd and Levitre are resigned. It would take the draft of a century to pull that off. The Bills need to make a move or two in FA. If they resign Levitre and Byrd then look for them to get a couple of middle tier LB's and maybe a veteran QB like Hasselbeck. Then look to the draft to get an impact LB, a QB prosepct and a WR. I don't see them getting Bowe, Byrd and Levitre but one can always hope...
  6. Holy hell it sucks to be from Buffalo. I mean this blows. The highlight of the enitre year is the NFL draft daft. After those three days of hope it is all downhill.
  7. 11 interceptions more in 3 years is a big deal - turnovers are everything in the NFL Josh Reed sucked The offensive line for Fitz has only been good for one year
  8. Why would either Levitre or Byrd stay? They served their time on a dysfunctional franchise. If given the chance to play for a winner for the same money wouldn't you leave? There was no market for Stevie. He is a #2 playing as a number 1 making middle tier number 1 money. Byrd may be the best safety in the league and will be paid so. The time to sign them was last year when the potential for injury or a bad year could be used against them. Signing them early was the best chance to keep them. Likely their agents said unless it is a ridiculouly good offer it is best to wait. Neither has an injury history and both had very good seasons. They will franchise one, most likely Byrd and hope they can resign Levitre. It will be his choice to stay or leave. The only way I think they let Byrd walk is if they think A. Williams can play FS. Since it is a new coaching staff they will have no way of knowing that. Also franchising a safety is less money than franchising a guard by a few million dollars. Therefore I think Byrd gets the tag and they take their chances with Levitre.
  9. 1. His wife is likely worth twice what he is and has many more years of earning potential 2. His house and probably more speicifically the location is an investment just like it is for us 3. Time to stop hating and hope we draft a QB half as good
  10. would you stop with that arguement...the bills have sucked for 13 years and we still but the tickets...
  11. Need new QB, new #1 WR, three LB's, and a TE. And that is if they resign Levitre and Byrd. That can not be done in one off-season. Can they make the playoffs with a rookie QB, two veteran LB's and a rookie LB...very unlikley. Can they make the playoffs with Fitz, a vetaran WR like Bowe, a veteran LB, and a bad-ass first round rookie LB. Yes they can. Fitz will never be good enough to win the whole think but he might be good enough for 9-10 wins and a WC spot with a better surrounding cast. Next years success is all based on the new LB's. The teams long term success is based on Fitz's replacement.
  12. In all seriousness, his biggest flaw is down the field accuracy. Can this be coached? Can this improve? I don't think it can. He has toughness, leadership, and smarts. I don't think it is arm strength unless his lack of it is affecting his accuracy. Can improved mechanics/footwork improve his deep ball? I don't now for sure one way or the other but I really doubt it at this point. Guys like Lombardi talk about accuracy or lack of while in college as one of the most predictive traits for drafting a QB. How do you measure accuracy for a guy who throws 5 bubble screens a game in college? There is no way throwing in shorts at the combine or their pro day can mean anything.
  13. Why not draft the guys that are big and fast. I don't care about character and intangibles in a LB. I want a guy that can tackle. Ball skills? Who the hell cares about his INT's. The Baltimore LB caught a tipped pass with a cast. Draft size and speed. Te'o has neither.
  14. Nix was right when he said they need a guy who is open when he is not open. Why he said that and then drafted Graham I am not sure. Stevie is a lovely #2 but that is all he will ever be. Graham stays on potential but with a new staff he probably needs to have a breakout year to make it to year three. The rest can go and that includes Nelson. We need a dominant TE not a slow plodding possession WR. I would break the bank and go after Greg Jennings.
  15. Somehow I think she will find God and a new husband when Welker gets released and no team pays him the millions he thinks he is worth...
  16. Harbaugh was caught complaining to the ref it should have been a personal foul. It might have made the FG attempt a little more difficult. On the 4th and 4 play I agree with throwing it. Ngata was going to tackle him short of the first down line. Brady's awareness/movement may be secondary to none within the pocket but he has to be the slowest QB in the league outside of the pocket.
  17. Agree on the impact of Brady. Give Lewis two weeks to heal, get a few B12 shots, and play indoors where it is a nice 72 degrees and he will be moving better.
  18. I respect Brady but I have no use for Belichick. He is a cheater the same as Lance was. But you have sycophants like Peter King that drool on his every word and are amazed at his copy of Art of War on his library shelf. He sucked in Cleveland and he hasn't won anything without cheating. Yes they are still a very good team but you can't change the fact they have zero championships w/o knowing what the defense was going to do pre-snap.
  19. I would but I don't know what was wrong with my subject line...
  20. Amen brother...I was just commenting that other people thought he was a good coach and he still got fired.
  21. On Patrick's radio show he said a member of the Falcon's organization told him. So I guess that is reporting it though he said he wasn't asking the questi Tony Dungy was by all accounts a fantastic coach as well.... Losing a 17 pt lead and a home championship game can make an owner quite unhappy. I'm not even arguing that Smith should be fired but I think he will.
  22. Inexcusable loss at home with a 17 point lead. Dungy couldn't get his team to the top of the mountain and Gruden came in and did with virtually the same players. If Arthur Blank is assured either Gruden or maybe Cowher will take the job I think Smith is gone. They were lucky to win last week and Dan Patrick reported that Smith was coaching for his job last week.
  23. Great game.... I think Ryan had Gonzalez in the end zone on that last play. There is a shot of Gonzalez on the sideline saying he was wide open. HOw about them announcers missing the Ryan shoulder injury. The cameras and replay guys only showed him holding his left shoulder four times. Joe Buck is awful. Can't stand Jim Harbaugh but what a gutsy call to switch QB's. Wonder if he woudl have done it had Smith not gotten hurt. Mega balls.
