  1. 1. Post June 1st salary cap cuts 2. Can Zerbie Sanders move to G? 3. What about Pears (played a few games at guard in Oakland)? 4. What about Hairston? My gut is they hope a veteran is cut and they can bring him in just before training camp or maybe even after week 1.
  2. He didn't really fall as much as EJ rose. Many people felt none of the QB's were first round caliber. I hope the off the field stuff matters as much as people think. But in the end all that matters is how fast the QB can process information in 2.5 sec and deliver an accurate ball. Johnson and Losman could not read defenses. Trent and Fitz could not hit a pass more than 12 yards downfield. I hope Geno is an absolute nightmare for the Jets and that EJ wins the job outright in camp.
  3. I'm sure there is more to it but if he thinks it is his agent's fault he fell out of the first round, who does he blame when the Jets go 2-14 next year????
  4. Agree right or wrong they decided not to pay Levitre top dollar. Bills have been on the right(Clements) and wrong(Winfield) side of that decision with prior regimes. I think Nix will pay Byrd top dollar. He paid Fred and Stevie and Byrd has much more talent than those two. I just hope it was Levitre and not Nix that didn't want a deal prior to the start of the 2012 season.
  5. I think a veteran guard will be added before or during training camp. Rogers will be cut and they will add another veteran DB to take his place in June. I don't think they carry a FB. They can line up Dareus or Williams in the backfield if needed. Dickerson over Lee Smith who will be cut the moment Chandler is cleared for contact. Somehow Moats' tenure with this team will be over. Does anyone know if Sanders can play guard????
  6. Hernandez was paid and Welker was replaced with his clone...
  7. Good teams pay their best players even the Patriots. Brady and Wilfork got paid. The Bills have so little money locked up at the QB position that they can more than afford to pay other players. Is he as good as Ed Reed is his prime. No but he is worth being paid.
  8. 1. Peters was and is a ProBowl LT that the Bills ahve still not replaced 2. Yes Peters has already signed a deal but he was still grossly underpaid for a starting LT. The two guards were making more money than he was. He deserved a raise. 3. Byrd is not the best FS in the league nor was Flacco anywhere near the best QB. However Byrd has all the leverage and the team has the cap space to play him and more holes on the OL and LB to deal with. Just make him the highest paid S in the league and in three months two or three other players will have higher contracts than him. There is pleny of money to be saved when Lindell and Brad Smith are cut. Stop giving away good-great players.
  9. 1. This puts Anderson and his ridiculous contract on the bubble 2. Looks like a bust for bust, change of scenery/schemes move for both teams 3. We now have gaping hole at MLB. Dansby or Urlacher woudl be next great move. 4. The first person that mentions Moats at MLB should be shot...
  10. I never bought Sheppard as a MLB in a 4-3. Can he thrive back in a base 3-4 as he flashed a little bit as a rookie next to Barnett? Maybe. I'd like to take a run at Urlacher on a one year deal with a team option for year number two. He has lost a step but I think he can still contribute some while bringing along Alonso. Flame away... Other FA ideas??? And just say now f'in way to Tebow.
  11. After all is said and done we are still 6-7 years behind the times. The NFL is now more like the NBA. It is less a team sport and more a coaching/star player/match-up/exploit weakness league than ever before. Credit the Bills for starting this trend with the K-gun. But now we have no players that are clear match-up problems for other teams. We do not have a 6-5 WR that can simply out-muscle two defenders. We do not have a dominant run or pass blocking OL. We have no TE that can beat a LB or a safety let alone force the defense to adjust. At best we have an olympic long jump guy to play the role of underneath WR. We have a RB that can split out of the back field but we have no idea if he can play the ball in the air well. And lastly we have a QB that may or may not be a read option or pocket passer. We have no freakish pass rusher and no overwhelming run stuffer. This is what happens when the franchise changes directions and philosophies every 2-4 years. We have all the supporting personnel you need to succeed but none of the true weapons. Maybe the UDFA WR from Tenn will be the weapon at WR. Look for 6-10 maybe 7-9 unless Kolb turns out to be some type of Drew Brees in the making under Marrone. Then next year they take a difference maker at DE/OLB or WR/TE.

  13. Guys with talent and character issues... EJ looks like the poster child for franchise QB. He appears to be about as well mannered a person as I have heard in quite some time. The defenders...not so much. Love me some nasty on the defensive side of the ball. And a crazy head case WR with ridiculous skills. I will take the HA if it comes with 1000 yards and 8 TD's. Now it is up to Marrone to be the disciplinarian and get these guys to keep moving their lives in the right direction. Love this draft!
  14. Would love him in 5th round andf then put him immediately on IR. Let him rehab all year long. Beyond the third round, if you are picking for needs it is jsut about hopeless. It's ok to take a chance in the late rounds.
  15. Yes, it is time to be smart. There may be three QB's that are in the top 10 guys left. A 4th round QB that lights it up in one half of a pre-season game could fetch a 2nd round pick next year especially if it is Barkley. Stay true to the board. Kolb and two rookies would be fine with me. Then draft two offensive lineman and a college basketball power forward in the 7th round to play TE.
  16. A- from NFL network, F from Prisco ...that about sums up what the Pro's think of the talking heads...
  17. Sad. Now all we are left with is Sullivan...
  18. Only one QB can play at a time. Only a handful of star players would want to be on a team together. It takes 50+ guys to make a roster. There are hundreds of very good players in the NFL. And Brady still went in the 7th round. What if the Pats paid millions for Tim Couch? Cap, human error, and reality argues against just a few teams having all the talent
  19. His 2013 salary is guarranteed. That doesn't stop them from taking a QB but if a QB isn't worth the 8th spot he likely isn't worth 9 either.
  20. Sheppard is awful. Would love to see this happen. If they trade out of 8 the draft sets up nicely for QB and WR in the late first round. If they stay at 8 then it will be Warmack or Cooper. Don't see MLB as an option at 8 and would hate to see MLB at 41 if they have not addressed OL, QB, WR by then. No good WR's on the FA market either.
  21. Who says the Bills have to take their QB at 8? They can draft OL or DL at 9 and give up next years first rounder and a second to move back into the first round and take a QB. If they fear their guy won't be there then go ahead and give up next year's number one. If no QB's is taken by pick twenty there will not be a first round QB chosen unless a trade occurs. Personally, I would draft OL or DL at 8 and simply wait until 41 if they don't move down from 8.
