Cookie Gilchrist Thank you for reminding people! I've long held that Daryl Talley is one of the most overrated Bills player of all time. That he is on the wall before Byrd, Gilchrist, or Saban is truly sad.

I juat don't see Marrone defending the guy if the injury was not legit. What is in it for Marrone to do that? If he though the guy could and should play he would call him out or make him dress. If they didn't think he could help the team they cold put him on IR and still franchise him again next year. I see little upside for Byrd not playing. If he wants out then he and his agent need to orchestrate a trade with a willing partner. No one will give up a high pick for a guy who isn't playing. The only upside is avoiding injury. There certainly is merit in that agruement if he could not be franchised again next year.

Exactly. People want Spiller to get a high number of carries but that is not the right way to use him. Probably not the right way to use any RB except Peterson.

Chan put up plenty of points last year with Fitz and company. He is right about Spiller. He is not a 25 carry per game back. If Chan hires even a competent DC he is still coaching this year. Pettine and the new faces on defense give this team a chance to be competitive while letting EJ learn. Chan was killed by Fitz's inability to throw deep accurately. Defenses squatted at 7 yards and dared us to throw deep. EJ needs to hit Graham over the top this week. Graham takes a beating on this board but he has been open. He only needs two catches and a PI to open things up underneath.

Perhaps you have heard it is a passing league...just about any stiff can pass block for 2.5 seconds with Wood and Glenn opposite them and a back to chip...the league only runs the ball as a tool to use play action...Minnesota could run for 3000 yards this year and finish last in their division..

Cam Newton is not Tom Brady. While I hope the line continues to produce I think the QB they were chasing has something to do with it. They should get to Geno Smith 7-8 times especially if we can get out to a lead and force them to throw. The only thing that will limit the sacks is if the D picks off Smith early in their drives...

NE has let tons of talent go and thought they could retool through the draft. Gronk, Hernandez, Mayo and Mankins are the only guys they have hit on in the draft. Well let's see they can look at their own playbook to see what we do on defense already - no need for a few more days. They will have to wait until Sunday to get another look at EJ and our offense. Their DT got hurt playing on a short week - he looked quite gimpy coming off the field but don't know extent of injury. Their QB got exposed. Some low-level assistant is already breaking down last nights film. Marrone has already coached against Geno. Pettine knows their system and players. Of any week where there may be an advantage this is not the one...

EJ hasn't played on the road yet either. Nor has EJ won a game yet. I don't recall Peyton Manning playing all that well at Foxboro. Maybe we should give them a while before passing judgement...
