Here are some "analytics" for the FO...

Your FO is working tirelessly to find ways to improve the team...just stop worrying. All is fine with the line. These are not the LG's you are looking for... -
Cordy Glenn turning into a stud LT...
Dragonborn10 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LT's can play for 8-10 yrs. This organization drafted three RB's in the first round - one with a shattered knee - compared to only two offensive lineman. That is how you miss the playoffs for 13 years. -
Glimmer of hope; I swear. I never lie either

Kansas City has won the World Series Keeping it close to home. The Chiefs had the first overall pick and are now 3-0 and solidly in the playoff hunt. The difference between winning and losing in the NFL is very small. All it takes is an owner who consistently chooses they wrong people to run the organization and chase away those that actually have talent(Polian and Butler) to have this level of sustained failure. Short of Polian's run the Bills are a case study in organizational dysfunction and failure. -
Two tackles in three games. 1 snap against Carolina. 3 against the Jets. Who is getting those snaps? Hughes? Lawson? Moats? Is it truly just scheme? Hard to call a 4th round pick a bust but it looks like another Nix draft pick is washing out.

Simpson busted again.

National Enquirer broke the John Edwards scandal. Every once in a while they report real news. What are the odds that even 1 in 10 people on this board have any idea what I'm writing about??? -
The error was not signing a veteran when Gilmore went down. He will miss a third of the season. I understand the veteran guarnateed contract issue but we are 3-0 with just a bit better DB play. There is no excuse being this thin at CB. If Leodis can't play this week the loss is on the FO. Give the FO credit for resigning Leonhard . He appears to be playing better than I thought he would.

Maybe defenses are just doing a better job at defending the RO? Is anyone running it well this year? Eagles maybe with perhaps the best running QB of all time. NFL DC's figured out the wildcat and it is now extinct. The RO will likely be extinct soon as well. Harbaugh probably hinted at the reason. The NFL rules do not prohibit defenders from hitting the QB if he is running OR still in the process of carrying out a fake. The QB is only protected in the pocket during the act of throwing the ball. I think DC's are telling guys to hit the QB after the fake. It would be worth giving up a couple runs early in the game to take a few very legal shots at the QB. I like my QB to be able to read defenses before the snap and make decisions a half a second faster than the average QB. You see Manning, Brees, or Brady running? Agree with other poster - ability to avoid a sack is all the mobility I want. That is a combination of knowing when to move up or slide in the pocket and having the bulk to break a tackle.

I agree with you in spirit but I think you miss my point. I have no choice but to hope that EJ is the future. I am greatly encouraged by his low interception rate. But should you not also be discouraged by his inaccuracy on deep balls? I would argue a high interception rate can be improved with experience while inaccuracy may never be improved. Next, if he takes three years to be a winning QB, that will be two years after Spiller has signed with another team in FA(he is a FA after 2014) and perhaps two years after his prime. How do you fix the holes at LG, TE x 2, DE, DB, and SS. That assumes you are willing to live with SJ as a #1 WR, an aging KW at DT, and great uncertainty at FS. I was impressed Mike Lombardi had the stones to make the move he did. He was lampooned for days. Next year he has two number 1's and I'm certain Willis can get 3.5 yards per carry this year. In the end however I am just trying to stimulate conversation.

What message did the FO send when they became the first franchise ever to have only two rookie QB's on the roster? You are delusional if you think this team can make the playoffs. A loss to Baltimore and a division loss to Miami and it is over. Second best running back in the NFL - six wins. The NFL of just a decade ago is gone forever and you all need to wake up to that fact. It is safer and more productive to throw it 45 times a game. The run exists only to keep teams honest, make 3rd downs managable, and burn clock in the fourth quarter. Teams that rush the ball more than 20 times a game do so because they convert third downs and sustain drives. The NFL you want is gone forever unless they change the rules for DB's. I hope Whaley understands this. My hunch is he does not coming from Pittsburgh.

I have to say I would trade Spiller. Cleveland took a lot of heat for trading Trent Richardson but they got good value for him. Spiller and RB's are not the answer in the NFL. They aren't even in the question anymore. As many on here point out, their ability to pass block is probably more important than their ability to run. This team has only one asset of any value - Spiller. Go ahead and accuse me of trading away the good players. I ask you what is the chance he resigns with the team? At 6 yards a carry last year how many wins did that translate into? This team needs multiple OL, multiple TE's, a gamebreaking WR, two DB's, and now a DE. It is time to make up for yet another bad decsion by Nix and build this team around the o-line, EJ, and the passing game like every other succesful team is doing.

Let me explain how the NFL works
Dragonborn10 replied to KikO M G's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"The Bills are, only three games in to a completely new system, with one of the youngest teams in the league" How many times did you have that thought the last 13 years? While of course it is too soon to give up on EJ or Marrone, but it is certianly reasonable to expect this to be another lost season in terms of the playoffs. They are 0-2 in the division. Miami is 3-0 and has a better defense than the Jets. It is not even the end of September and there is no hope this team makes the playoffs. The best we can hope for is the EJ improves over the season, there are no more catastrophic injuries that will affect next year, and that Whaley does something extraordinary this off-season. -
Potential good news for defense
Dragonborn10 replied to wnysteel's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Gilmore is not hurt in pre-season this team is 3-0. -
I truly do not understand the love for Talley. He was awful in the most important game of his career. He was not even a top ten player on that team - Kelly, Thomas, Reed, Lofton, Wolford, Smith, Bennett, Ritcher, and Hull were all better - Tasker, Norwood, Odomes were probably better too. Bryce Paup made it to more Pro-Bowls, has twice as many career sacks, and was a league MVP. Yeah I'm still bitter One day I will get over it when they win it all

DraftTek Positional Needs --- Any Changes Needed?
Dragonborn10 replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Best available OL. If it is a OT then fine. Move Glenn to LG. If it is a guard then take him if they draft outside of the top 10. If they draft in the top 10 they should take the best available WR. Every guy we have that is any good is a possession or slot guy. As always if they can trade down and get BA TE followed by a OL in the mid to late first round may be the best option. -
You don't pay him LT money if he is signed before the 2012 season. That is how you get these guys at a discount. Redo their rookie deals early. Use the worry of injury to get them at a small discount. Maybe they tried. I'm guessing they didn't because they blew their wad on Mario and Anderson. RW then said no more signing bonus money between his tablespoons of baby food. Nix was wrong when he said you can't sign them all. He knew they were both up for new deals. All he needed was one of them to sign early and the core of the team is intact.

I'm afraid Chan was right about Spiller
Dragonborn10 replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seriously? What the hell was he thinking? Gailey, Pettine, and Fitz and we are 3-0. I liek EJ as the future but if we had Fitz and Gailey no doubt we are 3-0. -
Why are we talking about a RB in 2013?
