  1. DT and WR are the hardest positions in the NFL to learn and play well. A little time is all he needed.
  2. Tuel has a high school level arm. He short hopped half of his throws. He is a joke as is this franchise. His WR's were open and he missed them. They were not even 10 yard passes. Is it really that hard to tell this guy has no business being on an NFL roster???
  3. I apologize as I don't remember the year but it was a Monday night game in Cleveland. I drove up from Columbus with a couple friends. We won. As I was walking to our car I ran in to Senator Al D'amato. I shook his hand and he chatted with us for quite a while. Good times.
  4. While I wouldn't bench him I am pretty sure he is no longer the number one WR on this team. Maybe he is injured. I don't know. But he and EJ are not in sync and he drops at least one catchable ball a game.
  5. What is worse the Bills failure to have a productive TE on the roster or their perennial inability to defend other team's TE? This has got to be the biggest positional point differential in the NFL. Out TE's are horrible and no matter the DC they can not stop anyone's even decent TE's. Hope Pettine is different. I know Chandler isn't.
  6. He looks like an All-Pro. How would you defend him? I think I let Lawson play him with Searcy/Leonhard/Byrd over the top. Lawson is supposed to be good in coverage and has the height to match up. If they line him up in the backfield and motion him out, I am ok with Alonso trailing him. He needs double coverage. They have no one outside that can beat Williams or McKelvin consistently. Hell even Rogers may look capable against their WR's. Anyone know how Pettine defended Gronk last year?
  7. My prediction - Williams and McKelvin start at CB. Leonhard at FS. Searcy at SS. Byrd plays in sub-package with three safeties over Duke Williams. Rogers sits. Browns best player may be there TE. It will be very interesting to see who covers him.
  8. It was Spiller with a bum shoulder who Gailey had run straight into Wilfork. Gailey should have been fired at the half.
  9. Trade stuff with Byrd needs to stop. Jacksonville just gave up on a 26 year old franchise LT and in return got a couple of mid-round draft picks. There is no value unless he was already signed to a long term contract. I am fairly certain they can not trade him and have him sign a long term deal with new team at the same time. If Byrd plays this week it is in three safety packages with Searcy and Leonhard. A. Williams plays CB even if McKelvin is back. If McKelvin is healthy Rogers sits thank god. The big dilemma is what happens when Byrd, Gilmore, Williams, and McKelvin are all healthy. Who plays SS? Who plays FS? Who is the nickel/slot DB?
  10. My kids heard me screaing for the sneak on both 3rd and 1's. As someone else stated he is 6'5 and over 230lbs diving behind Wood. It's a no-brainer. Yes the DT were lined up inside and both MLB's run blitzed the A gaps. I still say a QB sneak works over 90% of the time. Could have been a run play between guard and tackle. Those are the plays that can go the distance if the defense sells out for the A gaps. How about an option play. Lynch scored on the mini-option last weekend and Buffalo has run it well in the past. Anything but a 22 dive.
  11. Talented NT's and DT's can play late into their thirties. I would be shocked if the Patriots do not try to get him to sign a long term deal that cuts his cap number. I would not count him out just yet.
  12. Williams plays FS not SS. In passing situations I can see Williams and Byrd both out there together. But I am not sure I see Williams playing the SS(Searcy) role.
  13. How about a shout out to Lawson and Dareus??? They played great. KW was good too. Didn't see much from Hughes. Mario saw double teams today. Great run defense. And you know what Colin Brown was servicable today. EJ should have bowled over that DB on third down instead of sliding and coming up short. Ok to slide against DL and LB's but EJ outweighed that guy by 50 lbs. It's first down (and goal I think) if he just takes one more step forward and leads with his shoulder into the guy.
  14. Cute title no?? If Byrd/Gilmore are healthy does Williams start over McKelvin? Is the nickel pacakge Williams at DB and Byrd at safety? Wow if they can just get healthy back there this defense will be crazy good.
  15. My guess is they get Gilmore and Goodwin back after the Cleveland game. Cleveland has no WR's to scare even Justin Rogers. Get McKelvin healthy and then watch that defense become crazy good. Put Byrd at safety and line up McKelvin, Williams, and Gilmore at CB. Holy crap does that sound good.
  16. Best way to do that is to make the playoffs so he has a hard time finding time to interview. If he leaves Rex will be available.
  17. They let EJ run more which was good. Just a guess but I think EJ audibled out of a pass on first down on their last drive. I wanted to see play action there. He definatley changed the play but it could have been a different run he changed out of. The Lee Smith fall down play was so sweet. Again why is Lee Smith on this team?
  18. It's the Megatron rule. He has to control the ball through the end of the play. He didn't.
  19. Calls were correct. I thought they may have said Chandler's calf hit the ground before he was out. Definately did not get second foot down. If Woods holds onto ball instead of dropping it at the wall maybe they give it to him. Phantom holding call on Wood was really bad. Personal foul on Leonhard was questionable though they let Seacy get away with a defenseless reciver call. He hit with his shoulder but my hunch is he gets a small fine. The rest of the calls were correct. Including Kiko's second INT.
  20. I don't recall that. I think everyone wanted to see how he would do at safety including the current coaching staff.
  21. 1. Win turn over battle 2. Pass protect 3. Pass rush Rinse and repeat Contrary to popular belief it is not hard to win in the NFL. Get a QB and a handful of elite offensive lineman and it is hard to lose in today's NFL.
  22. Why do you accept not making the playoffs? Why do you accept $20 million in unused salary cap? Why do you accept the TE's on this roster? Why do you accept signing one LB in FA? Why do you accept being the only team in league history to start a season with only two rookie QB's? Why do you accept being irrelevant before the end of September? And if it is not ok to freak out now, at what point do we get the board's collective permission to freak out? When EJ gets slammed to the turf by Ngata after beating Colin Brown? When Torrey Smith runs past Justin Rogers? When a Willis McGahee led Browns team beats the Bills. When they go 0-3 in the division after a loss to Miami? Please let us all know when it is appropriate to be pissed off that another year is wasted...
  23. Dude the 1990's is calling. It is not asinine to make great stides in one off-season any longer. Seattle, Kansas City, and Miami all are or did turn things around immediately. Perspective is not settling for the same **** results from this **** FO and demented absentee owner. It is fine to develop a rookie QB. It is not fine to start Colin Brown at LG and to not sign a veteran DB to help now. If they lose to Baltimore they are 1-3, 0-3 in the AFC, 0-2 in the division, and will have a tie breaker disadvantage with Baltimore. Season over before October 1st. That is why people are so upset. We see Miami getting better. We see winnable games lost. We see bad clock management from the new regime. We see $20 million in cap money not being used. Yet you ask for patience????
  24. He is the last of the ridiculous rookie number one overall contracts that hamstring teams for years.
