  1. Zimmer looks like a disaster already. His press conference was a joke. He came off as Mr. tough guy. People and players respected Leslie Fraizer. It is not his fault the QB's in Minnesota suck. Zimmer is going to flame out like Gregg Williams did in Buffalo and Schiano did in Tampa.
  2. In other more important news, three of the five starting offensive lineman suck and so do most of the tight ends...
  3. Analytics don't block anyone. I'm sure the analytics on CJ Spiller are off the charts but he has no vision. The scale says Kiko is too small but he made a lot of plays. If the analytics department show Lee Smith deserves to wear an NFL uniform I will take gut instinct or fan message board suggestions over the Bills analytics department any day.
  4. As much as I dislike CJ as a RB the Bills need him next year. In fact he is the perfect player to franchise down the road. Get one or two more years out of him then get rid of him a few years from now. Or just use him the next year or two and let him walk. No reason to make a long term commitment to a RB. Look at the NFL. QB's and offensive lineman are the key. DB's and pass rushers or pass rushers and DB's whichever you prefer are the next most important.
  5. Only 4 of the top 10 WR's made playoffs, 8 of the top 20...Not saying Bills don't need an upgrade at WR but first work on the offensive line...
  6. If Belichick was so dam smart and great at player evaluation then why do his drafts suck so bad. It is almost all Brady. I will give the hoodie credit this year though. What he has done with all the injuries and with the bums at WR is amazing. But it still all begins and ends with Brady. Teams are still afraid of him even with the scrubs at wide out and TE now. Plus the offensive line seems to have gotten much better the last two years. They beat Denver easily but they will be no match for Seattle.
  7. Kid played every snap and for that he deserves high praise. I hope he is able to get bigger. I hope he is part of the solution and not part of the problem stopping the run. I still have my doubts. I look at the Seahawks and 49er's LB's and every one of them is bigger than Kiko - inside and out. Perhaps a major upgrade playing next to him will help him as well. Moats and/or Bradham might be the two worst starting line backers in the league.
  8. Dale Hallestrae, Guard Drafted 1985 4th round; 3 SuperBowls as long snapper with Cowboys. Currently college FB radio analyst
  9. Funny how an offensive line is needed for both a running game and a good passing game... Not saying the line needs to be great at both but it would be nice to be dominant in one phase and at least competent in the other. Bills have the young QB, they have the two B's, they have speed at WR, build the line and get the kid a TE. How would EJ look behind San Francisco's wall of first rounders throwing to Vernon Davis....
  10. Pats rush for over 200 yards in playoffs with no outside or inside receiving threats on the field, intercept Luck four times with a defense missing their two best players for most of the season, and our board has 26 pages on the special teams coach... pretty much sums up the difference between the two franchises.
  11. The problem is CJ, LG, RG and the lack of a TE. EJ and Hackett will be fine.
  12. I am hoping the Bills - Bears game is in Sept while the Cubs are in town. If so I will fly in from Portand OR, for a Bills-Chicago sports weekend. I was hoping they would be in Green Bay. My boys are 11 and 12 and I'm not taking them to Oakland. Denver maybe. Not sure which home-game it will be. Maybe the Jets again...
  13. 1. Can we all agree special teams are important 2. Can we all agree special teams are not as important as the offensive line 3. Can we all agree that core special team players are back up DB's (decimated by injuries this year) and back up LB's ( the starters aren't that good and the group is the second worst unit on the team) 4. Can we all agree Lee Smith sucks and having a player of his caliber on the team is emblematic of why this team sucks and why they have not been in the playoffs in a decade and a half
  14. Walter Jones was one of the three best LT's of all time. He is the only lock though Brooks is pretty close to a lock as well. I don't know why I can't stand Tony Dungy so much. Well actually I do. Mostly a loser on the big stage and religion in your face all the time. How in the hell does he make the cut and not Jimmy Johnson? That is crazy. And pardon if I go all minority report but Tom Flores has two Super Bowl wins and did it first. I think Reed has a real good shot. Killing a guy is reason enough for waiting a year or two for Harrison to get in. That cheesy mustache may be enough to keep him out forever.
  15. HIs true market value is not top 5. It's 5-10 % more than the top guy right now. That is the point you are obviously missing.
  16. Crossman is the OP. He is asking because he doesn't know the rules. Didn't you read the other 23 page thread?
  17. If this is true, it sure makes the Matt Barkley pick look like a waste even if it was a late round pick...
  18. Richardson was the more dominant and consistent player the second half of the season. Kiko made game changing not just highlight reel plays for the first half. But he really played poorly down the stretch. Lacy got better during the season and probably would have had even better numbers if Rodgers doesn't get hurt.
  19. Took Raiders from 31st in special teams in 2012 to 31st in 2013!!! While in Philadelphia his units went from 12 to 17 to 23... So now we have a dilemma... He is either not a great coach or the coach doesn't matter as much as 95% of the Crossman retained posters would lead you to believe... A true quandary... Hope this doesn't get closed because I really would like to see how this line of thought plays out... As I posted, special teams is about the players not the coach. Few agree.
  20. San Francisco's defense is elite. Kansas City's defense is a joke. Rodgers played in misery. Luck played in 70 degree temperature controlled bliss. Harbaugh seems to know what he is doing. Reid ***** himself in the playoffs. Can't believe Cowherd made that remark. Moronic statement to make at that moment. Yes seven years is a long time and Rodgers sat a long time to start his career. But there is no guarantee Luck doesn't get a concussion next week or get the Belichick young QB knee treatment.
  21. Right...It was awesome how the FSU ST's coach designed the Auburn's players hamstring to tear to shreads. Very timely play calling. I was puzzled why he drew up three fumbles by the Auburn players but decided not to recover any of them. I see he was just building drama.
  22. It's the players not the coach. The punters may have been the two worst in the league last year. Multiple missed tackles. How hard is it to coach stay in your lanes. There is no schemes in special teams anymore. The rules have taken them away. There is no overloads allowed. It is all on the players. Again the board is missing the point. Moorman sucks. Powell sucked. Most of the offensive line sucks. The linebackers suck. Graham sucks. Marrone's in game decisions suck. Kyle Williams' run defense sucks. Spiller's vision and durability suck. EJ's knees suck. Stevie's hands suck. Every TE on the roster sucks. And most of all the owner sucks. But instead focus the attention on a special teams coach...
  23. The drafting of Mike Williams has scarred them for a decade. The Byrd/Levitre failure was not resigning these guys early. They earned new contracts. If you resign them early you get them at a discount. Whaley did not repeat that mistake with Wood. They had the money even after they paid Anderson, Mario, and Fred. They could have signed Byrd or Levitre during camp before the season started. Assuming they wanted to sign. We have seen nothing to suggest any contract offers were made by the Bills. Who knows maybe they tried and Levitre and Byrd said no.
  24. The QB slide feet versus head first is pretty straight forward as noted above. He slid head first to continue to get yardage until he was touched. Once you slide feet first the ball is dead even if you slide for twenty feet on a sheet of ice untouched. The catch stuff is really difficult. Did anyone see the Ohio State Clemson game? No way that was a catch by the LB at the end of the game. He did not complete the catch. Even dumb ass Matt Millen picked up that one. The referee consultant said it would not have been overturned after the refs did not give them enough time to review it - but he was protecting his own. And today that was a classic Calvin Johnson rule violation. Who cares if his forward progress was stopped. He still needs to complete the catch and he didn't as defined currently. For the record I disagree with the Calvin Johnson rule but it is the rule and in both of these cases it was not interpreted correctly.
