  1. The anti-Yankees with a goatee ... The Yankees have been for the most part dominant their entire existence and won championships during every era except the late sixties and the late eighties - early nineties. The Bills for the most part have sucked their entire existence except for brief stretches of the late sixties and late eighties - early nineties.
  2. You nailed it on Kiko. I think this is where he fits best in the 4-3 which is the defense they will be in less than half of the time. The defense they will be in most of the time is the nickel where he can still excel at one of the two LB spots.
  3. Imagine how people in Miami, Seattle, San Diego, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York City, and pretty much everywhere else on the planet felt in 1994...Buffalo Dallas The Sequel As for the weather issue...I think the only issue that the media has brought up is Peyton and the fans travelling to the game. These are in fact real issues. Peyton has played the a small number of games in sub 32 degree weather but has a losing record in those games. The vast majority of his career has been in a dome. The AFC championship game was 60-65 degrees in Denver. As for the travel, the ticket prices dropped by 50% in some sections on the uncertainty of being able to get to the game. That is a real weather issue. As you pointed out for the rest of the players the weather is likely to be a non-issue.
  4. Have a winning record once in a decade and some of this stuff might go away
  5. Guy broke more tackles in that run against the Saints than Spiller has in his entire career... He is in the SuperBowl. He made one of the three biggest plays in the NFC championship game. Spiller still can't find the right hole nor beat out a 32 year old Fred Jackson... Whatever keep piling on Lynch as the Seahawks ride him to the SuperBowl. It will be the fourth quarter the Seahawks will be up by 6 or 7 points with about 7 or 8 minutes to go and Lynch will drive them the length of the field and keep Manning off the field. Seahawks kick late FG to seal the victory.
  6. Hmmm...Maybe Pettine couldn't find anybody better at this late point in the off season... At least O'neil gets a coordinator job. For Weaver it is a lateral move. Don't see any of this being a big deal if they do not fix the offensive line and address the linebackers. Pettine couldn't stop the run last year with the guys he had and neither will Schwartz.
  7. In both the Finley and Hernandez negotiation their agents used this argument. In both cases their clients were able to avoid the tag and signed long term deals. I should have said "used" not "won" the argument but regardless it worked.
  8. You are wrong. Hernandez won used this argument before and Graham will win use this argument as well. It worked for Hernandez and Finley as others have pointed out. He may not get the full WR tag but he won't get the TE tag. ***Fixed***
  9. Is that true of second round players as well? Thought that was just first rounders. Regardless it is too soon to extend him. Play another year and then extend him prior to training camp 2015. And don't mess around trying to move him to RT. He has proven he can play LT. He will not stay in Buffalo at RT. Someone will pay and play him at LT.
  10. I'm sure Schwartz can find a LB coach. I would just let the Browns wait a week to piss them off before giving them an answer.
  11. Well we can't stop the run because we do not have a NT to play the 3-4. So I don't see an issue with a 4-3. But as most people have pointed out I think everyone's base defense is a four down lineman nickel. That is used over 50% of the time. That is what Schwartz said. That is what Pettine said. It honestly doesn't matter what the Bills do on the line or in the secondary. This teams still needs to upgrade the LB's.
  12. The way I see it, anyone could have done better than Wannstedt. Another draft and free agency period will bring more line backers. If they resign Byrd the new DC will be in a great position to excel.
  13. Yeah! Future HOFer and another star TE have never "won a SB"--busts!! Yet look at all of those top ten drafted Tackles who have won a SB. Why there's........Jonathan Ogden Round 1 Pick # 4 1996. Superbowl XXXV. Ok, how about all of those top 10 drafted tackles who have played in a SB......hmmm. Walter Jones Round 1 Pick # 6 1997 SuperBowl XL How many top 10 drafted tackles over the past 10 years have even played in a playoff game? D'Brickashaw Ferguson Round 1 Pick #4 2006, multiple playoff games including two AF championship games Those are just a few off the top of my head. If you want to argue skill position over linemen at least check your facts.
  14. I don't know what the hell you people are talking about. Nix was horrible. Not Marv Levy horrible but almost. Spiller has no vision. Troupe, Graham...oh my god. Three years to get a QB. I hope Whaley is listening and just does the opposite of what Nix thinks. Sheppard horrible. A Williams one of the worst CB's in the league. Jury still out on Gilmore and Glenn. I mean this team is so bad that even mediocre talent in the draft would be an upgrade. You actually have to try really hard to draft as poorly as Nix did.
  15. Pettine had better set a deadline on these guys or he is starting to look the part of a fool. If he interviews three times and then patiently waits until after the SuperBowl to not get the job that is weak. He needs to force their hand.
  16. Looks like the Browns are willing to wait for Quinn. The only risk is that Pete Carrol would retire if the Seahawks win the SuperBowl and Quinn would be the HC. That seems unlikley. Quinn probably would have withdrawn his name by now. I suspect after Case withdrew Quinn was they guy they wanted. I think the Bills dodged a bullet for a year. Next year the Jets will suck again and Rex will get canned. Pettine will get the Raiders or Cowboys job and we can bring in Rex to run the defense.
  17. If Pettine leaves, who should they target? Horton is already signed. Go after the Seahawks secondary coach? Cardinals LB coach? !@#$ing Christ Schwartz or Mangini... Good god kill me...
  18. Bills need another truly solid draft and EJ to develop. Again I would trade down and take Ebron if possible or stay put and take an OT. I would not take a first round WR. This team needs to address the OL, TE, and LB before WR early in the draft. Of course all of this depends on what they do in free agency....
  19. How would you look if you just got drafted by a team that had not made the playoffs in 12 years with Dave Wannstedt as the DC?
  20. Matt Smith has Ebron going to Bills at 9. I was going to start another post asking if 9 was too high for Ebron. I don't know anything about Matt Smith. I would love Ebron at 15 and an extra second round pick. I probably still lean OT at 9 but it sure would be nice to have a playmaker at TE. http://www.nfl.com/d...tt-smith/175604
  21. The league has figured Wilson out. He doesn't have the vision or arm strength of Brees. Maybe with experience he gets better. I will not say he can't but right now all he throws are WR screens and 12 yard curls. He is high on a lot of sideline throws. He does not throw over the middle at all. Kaepernick is still an athlete playing QB. He too may improve. He can be wildly inaccurate. Threw some really bad passes today but also had at least three drops. He had three crazy good throws that are jaw dropping. The jump pass TD to Bouldin was ridiculous.
  22. He didn't play well today. Had a 15 yard penalty against him on a shot to the head. Was caught out of position on Lynch TD run. He can't cover anyone. Peyton and Julius Thomas would have eaten him alive.
