Released by Cleveland. Has always been a solid back-up. Was playing well in Oakland until he got hurt. He is better than Tuel or Lewis. I would take him at 1 million a year and release Lewis.

To be fair Hughes was obtained in a trade when the Bills gave up on yet another draft bust Sheppard(Nix 3rd round pick)and got a guy that can maybe rush the passer but can't defend the run nor drop in coverage.

Just stop. The Bills are by far the worst organization in the NFL. Oakland has actually won a SuperBowl. They have been to the playoffs much more recently than the Bills. Our FO decisions for the last 15 years are as bad as any including Oakland, Cleveland, Washington, and Detroit. So please don't throw stones. Oh yes Al Davis had a plan after he died to keep the team in the family and in Oakland. When RW dies the Bills will be gone... Look in the mirror, we would be lucky to have the Raiders history and their future...

The Bills are doing an excellent job in Free Agency

I could care less if the guy grew up in Buffalo or Thailand. The talent on this team is still not very good at MLB, TE, WR, RT, DE, SS, and QB. Translation we are screwed unless EJ develops and they hit on at least three draft picks. -
Bills sign CB Corey Graham--interview on BB.com
Dragonborn10 replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Already building the foundation of excuses to not re-sign Gilmore early... -
Unless you are a total homer, you can not see this as anything but total ineptitude on the Bills part. Anyone with a brain knew he was going to get paid top dollar. Nix decided two years ago he wasn't going to pay Byrd when he drafted those two safeties. And now his little disciple let the plan play out. If you are standing behind the Bills you are choosing Buddy Nix's judgment over Sean Payton's and Mickey Loomis'? I will trust the guys that have actually won in this league. Total bush league. Bills simply can not compete.

You mean because he actually had talent unlike the rest of the **** in Buffalo

I'm mad as hell & I'm not gonna take it any more!

And this has happened for about an eight year stretch in the Bills history under Polian/Butler. Other than that it has been a total cluster of FO mismanagement and bad decisions from coaches to players. No faith in Whaley or Marrone until they prove it. Last years draft brought an unproven answer at QB, an undersized MLB, and good dime UDFA CB. This same regime had Colin Brown at LG, Chandler et al at TE, and may have just let a ProBowl safety walk with no compensation. -
What free agent do you want ?

They can get depth and ST's with a late round draft pick or UDFA that will be cheaper and younger than Moats. Agree Bradham is awful and would not make the roster of 28 of the 32 NFL teams. -
It is a bit unfair to say that a name FA would not be of interest to the Bills when cut by another team. Of course injury status, age, recent production, and most importantly money all are factors. No doubt Peppers is not worth the contract he signed. Honestly though all of these contracts re back loaded with fake money that the player will never see. Flacco's deal is the same way. He will never see he money written into the last year of his contract. That is why it is all abut the signing bonus. Even productive players with bad contracts like Revis will be cut. Best hope is that if a player is still productive the salary for that year is renegotiated into a signing bonus to decrease the cap hit.

If they move Glenn to LG you might as well trade him now. He knows he can play LT in this league and LT's make a ton more money than guards. No way he just willingly accepts a move to LG when he is doing playing very well at LT. Barring injury he is going to get a huge pay raise as soon as the CBA allows. -

I'm sorry but what has Moats done to warrant a roster spot? I'm ok with the other names even Chandler if the price is right. -

Linebackers. Mack is likely going to be gone by #9 and Barr is Hughes 2.0. This teams needs bulk up the middle and on the edge to play the run. I think Spikes would be fine as a two down LB that pushes Kiko to WOLB on run downs. Kiko can move back to the MLB in the nickel and dime sets. -
LaMarr Woodley Released By Pitt- Does Whaley Go After Him?
Dragonborn10 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. Woodley is washed up and at best would shoudl get a veteran minimum contract perhaps with incentives 2. Pittsburgh does let their veterans walk. Like any team with a big contract at QB they have faced salary cap issues. They just however resigned Heath Miller and Polamalu for contract extensions that reduce their cap numbers. -

Everson Griffen & the rising cost of FAs
Dragonborn10 replied to thebandit27's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills FO is just bad. They undervalue Byrd and let him walk when he should have been paid him top dollar last year. All that wasted cap money last year is in RW's pocket now. Why was Fitz's dead money not put on last years cap? It is total BS. They will claim they can't spend money in FA due to dead money that they could have used last year. Watch them next extend Spiller and let Dareus walk. How bad do you have to be not to recognize the value of your own players? -
Why would you not want Whaley to talk to or evaluate a potential first round talent? Need to know his true value in case a trade presents itself or if he falls. If Williams is going to play FS then who is going to play DB when the let Gilmore walk?

If you Draft like **** what are the alternatives??? Bills are going to let their own Problem safety walk instead of overpaying. They finally hit on a high Draft pick and let him walk. Buffalo has to pay a premium to get guys to stay. Either sign them early thus losing the benefit of the rookie contract or overpay when they are a FA. Until they can prove they can Draft even decently they have no better option than to overpay for proven talent like Byrd and Mario. What do they do though? They bid against themselves for crap like Kelsay and Fitz. Both of which I was on record as wanting to sign but not at the price. -
Bills interest in Sanchez (possible starter)

I would take Vince Young over Sanchez but neither is any good. -
Who thinks the Bills will trade up?
Dragonborn10 replied to RunninRebel37's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Height without athleticism at WR means nothing. Yes Calvin Johnson is a beast but he truly is a once in a decade player. De shaun Jackson was one of the smallest WR's drafted his year. All the big WR'S were busts. I think it is quite fair and wise to look at how a WR was used. Woods played in a pro style offense. Many play in a spread offense and half their catches are behind the LOS. -
Has any player that left New England done that well? Welker maybe but he went from Brady to Manning. I would trust BB's evaluation of a NFL player over Whaley's.

Dragonborn10 replied to RunninRebel37's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you could guarantee Mack is the next LT then I would trade up. Otherwise you trade down at every opportunity. This Draft is deep and the Bills have needs everywhere. Trading down may allow an extra pick to be used on a project QB that falls.
