  1. 1 Billion with a "B" for a stadium in Minnesota. In the end they will not have the money for a new stadium. No new stadium and the owners vote to move.
  2. Wrong. Peters was woefully underpaid. The market said he was a top 3 LT and he wasn't a top 3 lineman on the Bills. A. Williams had better be our FS because he is not a good SS if used in the box. If they play cover two it doesn't really matter.
  3. Bradham is high on the list to not make the team. I would give him about a 20% chance of making it. I think one UDFA LB that flashes on special teams and Bradham is done. He won't see the field in the nickel and dime defenses. His only shot is OLB and maube back-up MLB. Highly doubt he makes the team.
  4. It is not non-sense. It is classic futures and commodities trading. You have to know the value of anything you trade. The OP has assigned the wrong value to next years picks thus the analysis of an unequal trade is wrong.
  5. Actually it is a time value of money calculation. If you knew thew interest rate(discount rate) that draft picks earned from year to year you could more accurately determine the true present value of next years first and fourth round picks. So since the OP valued the 2015 1st round pick the same as a 2014 pick (1350 points for a #9 in both years) his/her analysis is wrong. Now you can close the thread.
  6. It is all on the new ownership. They could fire everyone even if they make the playoffs. It doesn't mean it would be the right thing to do but do you think Donald Trump or any other billionaire is going to listen to anything Brandon has to say. Whaley has some credibility from the Steelers and it is unlikely he would get fired. Add the racial factor of firing one of the few African-American GM's in the NFL before he was really given a chance to fail or succeed and I don't see it happening. And if Whaley is in charge I can't see Marrone getting fired. Could a Wade Phillips scenario occur over the OC? Perhaps. If the offense tanks and Marrone is unwilling to remove Hackett then Whaley could have no choice but to start over from the top.
  7. I would take Romo. He has never had an offensive line in big D. And the coaching is suspect. Rivers would be a good fit in Buffalo too. Eli throws a lot of picks but is still near very good to great. I would pass on all the rest for age and production concerns.
  8. Watkins is a rookie WR and will not see double coverage early. Watkins will get the bulk of his receptions in the first 8 games behind or along the line of scrimmage. I hope he is a willing blocker as well.
  9. Exactly. Spiller just is not that good of a running back. He has killer speed but does not read the play or the blocks well. Two coaching staffs have chosen an UDFA RB from nowhere college to be the guy to get the carries when it matters most.
  10. Hmmm I don't seem to recall the media bias against Buffalo when they made the playoffs regularly... The Bills have sucked for a decade and a half. What do you expect? Win some games and they will get some respect.
  11. BP is the best thing to ever happen to the Bills but he left the cupboard so bare that one injury to his team's QB and they went from SB contender to 2-14.
  12. On paper the run defense may be worse than last year. All teams will need to do is use three and four wide reciever sets and force the Bills to choose between Spikes and Kiko at MLB and Hughes or Lawson at DE. Then you motiion a TE and run right at Kiko or Hughes or throw crossing routes against Spikes. Obvioulsy a gross oversimplification but DE could be a huge problem.
  13. Only two of the Bills UDFA signees were listed by Gil Brandt as top players still available after the draft... Personally I will take the buzz surrounding Sammy Watkins over an UDFA WR with issues...
  14. My guess is the average draft grade for the Bills the last decade and a half has been a C or so by the media. On here probably a B+ or better. Judging by the results on the field perhaps we are not the best judges of talent either...
  15. At least Kiper owns up to his misses. McShay never does. Kiper added the loss of a future 1 and 4 into the grade. Let's face it if Watkins is a bust this draft will set the franchise back three years. If EJ and Watkins are legit Whaley is 2014 executive of the year.
  16. B- There are real concerns about Kouandjio's ability to handle the pass rush. WR's can take time to develop though with all the bubble screens that teams run now they can get the ball to Watkins in creative easy ways. I am not very concerned about the lost 2015 draft pick. Love the move to add another RB via trade. I am still concerned about the DE position. I don't see how Lawson as the answer there. Looks like the draft was weakest in DE and RB. Maybe they still make a move to bring in a veteran to help shore up that spot.
  17. ESPN has been unwatchable for years. Can't stand Berman. Tom Jackson has always been a lightweight in terms of analysis. The whole Rush Limbaugh experiment was just as bad as Donald Sterling. McShay is horrible. Worst of all is a death battle between the "factor back" Merrill Hoge and Herm Edwards. The only guy I think makes any sense in a volume that is reasonable is Mark Schlereth. I have not watched the program in years but do read and watch video from the website as well as listen to Mike and Mike and the Herd on my drive to work on the west coast.
  18. They are going to need new helmets to accommodate the hair on these new guys...
  19. Savage in the fourth is a better idea... Use the fifth for a RB and a DB.
  20. Whaley didn't pick Marrone to be HC so I would not be so quick to think this is Marrone's plan or culture. Whaley knows this is likely his only shot (black men rarely get second chances in the NFL) and he is not going to let anyone else have an impact on his success.
  21. They are not developing Thad Lewis or Tuel time. Taking another QB does not mean they are not committed to EJ this year. If Savage or Murray lights it up in pre-season against a bunch of soon to be out of work training camp fodder then maybe he nets you a higher pick next year. What if they hit on something magical with a mid round QB? I would rather they draft a guy in the fourth than wait until the 7th or free agency. They are not going to find their starting DE in round four. Best they can hope for now is special teams, an interior lineman to develop, and a flier on a QB that could be special.
  22. I'm curious did SJ have more dropped passes or more trade threads???
