  1. I like the WR's individually but I am not sold on Woods in the slot. I would rather see Woods outside with Watkins. Let Goodwin play the slot WR. Who says Williams will be any better than Woods on the outside?
  2. Josh Reed could not be stopped by anyone - not even Sherman!!! He caught everything that came his way and since he was a former RB he had great after the catch skills.
  3. From today, he will get to 2000 in 2015. But it will be for a different team. After another let down year, the Bills pass on his option and he walks.
  4. I was going to pick Glenn but with Joe Thomas and Ryan Clady coming back it will be hard for him to be all-pro. I think he makes the pro-bowl though.
  5. Just like we had to wait to see if Levitre and Byrd were going to be good players.
  6. Whaley would be smart to sign this kid now. He is going to be a 5 time Pro Bowl player. A. Williams and McKelvin are locked up. Wood is paid. Use the money to extend Glenn and Dareus now. Then either franchise Spiller if he has a great year or let him walk.
  7. I did not like Kiko at MLB in the base defense. I thought he was going to play really well at OLB. If Spikes can't play the nickel MLB the whole defense is screwed. Opponents will spread us out, force Spikes to the bench and run right over K. Williams and whatever bum they have at MLB. If Spikes is still on the field then it will be one crossing route after another to the slot WR or TE. This is awful. It is all on EJ now. He has to be Ben Roethlisberger this year.
  8. 30+ year old running backs fall off the cliff all the time. Hit the ceiling. Whatever cliché you want to use. FJ could be awful this year and/or CJ can get hurt again. Whaley stocked the cupboard for a minimal price. Truly hope CJ is all world and we franchise him for one more year.
  9. Agree that his special teams play and overall contribution to the team is overrated. No way is he a HOF player unless they have a special year and create a special section for kickers/punters/return players and gunners. There are far better kickers and punters that meant more to their team than Tasker did for the Bills. My point of this thread was that Tasker was never given much of a chance to play WR. But with the increased passing now, the four and five wide sets, all the underneath routes, I think he would have been a far greater WR threat than he ever was in the past.
  10. What if Tasker played today? Is there a chance he is as good as Wes Welker? I don't think he was ever as quick as Welker. I don't recall him dropping any of the few balls thrown his way though. Does he start in a three WR set in the slot? Kelly always said he couldn't be covered in practice.
  11. 1. Cookie Gilchrist - until he is on the wall he is underrated 2. Aaron Schobel 3. Joe Cribbs
  12. His ranking against the run is inflated because he makes many plays behind the line of scrimmage. That is great except when that doesn't happen, the whole defense is gashed up the middle. He was out of position as a NT and the run defense was historically bad. I want nothing more than a Williams, Dareus, and Branch dominant rotation at DT. If they play well and keep Spikes clean, the run defense may be almost adequate for the first time in a decade.
  13. Aaron Schobel never gets any credit. 78 sacks. Second all time. If Phil Hansen goes on the wall then Schobel deserves a spot too.
  14. 1. Kyle Williams - he makes plays DT's shouldn't and doesn't make a ton of plays DT's should. He is a liability in any base defense against the run. Great penetration in the pass rush. 2. CJ Spiller - two coaching staffs gave the ball to a 30 year old RB on 3rd and 2 and in the fourth quarter. Enough said. And he can't pass block anybody. Now enough said... 3. Kiko Alonso - at MLB. I think he will truly be special at OLB. He is too small to play the base MLB. It will be a huge decision to keep Spikes on the field in the nickel. If Spikes can hold his own in the nickel, I think Kiko gets 14 sacks and 3 INT's this year. 4. Brian Moorman - he is just bad. I add him to the list because some people still think he is adequate. I hope he gets beat out. 5. Dan Carpenter - Made some clutch kicks for a journeyman. That shows some guts under pressure. His kickoffs are not good. Despite the contract I think he gets beat out in camp.
  15. I agree both Lynch and Wilson will be there given there are only 20 spots left and the remaining possibilities. I just don't agree they are top 20 players.
  16. Assuming you are right, are Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch really top 20 players? Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas are top 10. I would put Wilson around 30 or 40. He is very very good but I would still take Luck, Brady, Rodgers, Brees, and Manning over him - excluding the age factor. I like Lynch a lot but top 20? In today's NFL I probably would put only Peterson in the top 30 or 40 players. There are 7-10 QB's, 5-8 CB's, 7-10 WR's, 5-6 TE's, 8-10 OL, and 10-15 DL/LB's better and more important than any other RB in the league besides Peterson. The only other guy that is close is McCoy.
  17. We don't need a LB who misses multiple tackles in the SuperBowl
  18. I'm not saying Hackett's or Chip Kelly's philosophy is correct. BUT fast paced and running the football are not mutually exclusive.
  19. Who says FJ and CJ both make it to opening day???
  20. He was never as funny as he thought he was. But good for him that he can reboot at age 56.
  21. Except the whole premise of this thread is they could have drafted Brady. Eli and Roethlisberger were gone by the time the Bills drafted.
