As others have pointed out, it is an away non-conference game. Possibly the least important game on the schedule. But they need to show they can stop the run. They need to show they can run the ball against the Bears defense. And just a competent game from EJ. 65% completion, no INT's, and around 225 yards.

Bills-Chargers is much more important. Chargers may contend for their division and certainly will be in the WC hunt. A head to head victory will be crucial in tie breakers and overall WC standings. Barring a Brady injury the Pats will run away with this division. I don't think Bills make a WC spot without a win against Chargers and Chiefs.

Agreed. Fitz would have been the perfect back-up. Makes no sense. You can argue they didn't spend up to the cap anyways even with the dead money. But Fitz was better than Tuel and Lewis. If anyone disagrees they just hate Fitz and won't see him for what he is - a reasonably good playmaker who makes too many costly mistakes. Agree. They should beat on the Bears defensive line with the running game and keep Cutler off the field. Take a few shots on second and short if you want. This game will be a win as Cutler gets sacked five times and EJ plays a clean unspectacular game.

Agree but after the Bears game. I would keep Hairston and get rid of Legusky. Hairston can play guard in a pinch if needed. There will be another guard on the scrap heep to sign if needed.

Palmer is of no use for week one - if he had to play they would lose anyways. They should go with Tuel and EJ and keep an extra lineman, WR, or DB. They can find another QB after week one.
