1993 Houston Wildcard Comeback- Where were you guys
3rdand12 replied to Ice bowl 67's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was sitting with quite a few of my young and a bit wild friends from Rochester. We had a whole floor of a motel by chance to ourselves. we nearly were kicked out for playing tackle football in the halls for a couple hours. i add this for context ^ We were endzone seats opposite the tunnel and saw some great plays. I lost my voice for couple days. I will never remember the details, but i will never forget the emotions of staying till the end am now reminded how cold it was. and how my sunday morning hangover was going. -

I felt the same. Imagine how McD felt ? But this is a good and wise business decision. They are pros and know the game is about production. Sounds overstated, but true so much so in the NFL. They need some one who can coordinate the run game. Not just develop players. i thought gee whiz maybe they could offer him an assistant o line Coach position after he sees what his worth is on the market after reading the article and quotes but thats just me being weak Bring back the Deck Chair Tossing Guy !! -
What a cool move by Bills Org to make this happen. What a send off !!! I have never seen so much respect traded shown so brazenly over a player. But if you are going send your 13 year Pro Bowl vet off with a bang, this was another fine gift for/from him . Kudos and thanks a ton for the link. i am saving this one : )

I considered the source : )

Woah Nelly ! Thats some damning praise. Yikes !!

Oh it has been much longer than that ! Never been a fan. But McD needed to get something up and running when he took the reigns. same with Castillo. he knew what he was going to get from the baseline and also both guys are Pros. But the sign of of winning organization is to continually define and refine. lets see who they bring in,as they surely have someone on speed dial already : ) Hate to see guys lose jobs , but if you can upgrade for the long term. Do it ! I approve of the releases.

I watched the same play from O side of the line during the game. could not figure out if Allen was confused about protection. He sure looked surprised when he turn to face the field> i have to admit i do like to beat that Dog Jordan Mills. but that gotta be a wrong call. and perhaps Josh made it -
you are onto something. it is a great example of how to win each week. able to play to your opponent's weaknesses. Multi faceted skill players does that for you. such as when Bill B ran all day against us. and then can turn around and throw 45 times the next week. and what type of receivers might you wish for ? well. it should not be too hard to do. but i feel it will be a composition of things. O Line. Coaching, and some guys Allen can trust. Foster is likely one and Zay is the other. beyond that..

seems blatantly obvious. doesn't it ?? for me ? they waited to get a QB to let Beane get in the building. even though they missed on some opportunity some will still harp upon : ) I think they brought in Brian Daboll with the same thinking. come in, see the lay of the land.that was last year. present his vision and how to get there. That is this year. give him the players and start with O line -

as do I. be smarter about contracts on fringe veterans like Ducasse and Mills. and at some point Bills need to trust the OC to build the Offense. McD and Frazier have made their statement on defense. Hope Brian D has some prospects in mind from his recent stint with Alabama and it's competition : ) -
I do respect your opinion , but i did read that his hit would be spread over two years . and someone picking up the contract left might be reasonable considering his skill set ( elite ) who has managed Diva players well? hence the title : ) we let Dareus go for a much bigger hit. This affects Tomlin greatly how it is resolved. IMO he has to go. i do not wager. and it is only my opinion : )

Clay told he will be released this offseason?

knee(s) -
AB asked for a trade. and he was called out by Ryan Clark. "time to go " will anyone pick up that Contract? thats the question and how did that work out for the Steelers ? peeing in a pot and throwing it out the window kind of fun ? Steelers and Brown need to figure this out, because it has been ugly over there.

Bills Should Be Judicious in Free Agency
3rdand12 replied to racketmaster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yes.Got injured and replaced by Ryan Groy ,who is really a guard , and potential swing guard. Bodine was improving. But being the heart and soul of the Line? i would love to see that position dialed in a bit better. But if Bodine plays out his second year , i can deal with it. -

to jump in here with you MRE, OT are not falling from trees in FA. Beane and Daboll need to focus on what and how they build this line to protect Allen Now , and long term. no small feat as i see it. as you mentioned , it is difficult as heck to drop a rookie Lineman into battle and get him stable. and that is multiplied exponentially when you need to replace 2 or 3 to upgrade. I would overpay a solid Veteran ( if one or 3 ) can be found. And draft some ideally. More likely to get day one impact players on D line. Bills have needs that FA must resolve I hope not. But the whole line should be starkly reviewed and open to upgrades
