  1. damn Man ! way to see the connections. Taking James is a solid move for the Bills, if they pull it off. Give him a smart contract and Bill are still not limiting themselves. Imo they need at least two TEs and maybe 3. certainly drafting one or two could happen. But scoring a steady guy like James would be a huge improvement for the Offense. and I do like the Chandler references as a compliment to both players ! absolutely should look hard at drafting a viable (starting ) tight end via the draft and a perhaps an investment type who can plays Special Teams well enough to add value right away and Croom is still a project Bills are hoping upon !
  2. I do like your attitude sir ! even better drinking buddy : )
  3. as a receiver i think you look what the passing game last year. and the Offense as a whole. if i was Brown? i would pass. and if i was me ? i don't want him here. Develop via the draft and youth at Wr. and that is why Bills need to fix the O line and TEs. protect Josh and run the damned ball effectively : )
  4. I might imagine Bills could throw to Brown many many times and his percentage of catches would be nice. But teams will triple cover him lol. and the ball might be coming out in a hurry. and teams will nickel and dime us all Sunday .
  5. Brown coming to Buffalo would be stupid for him. he should go to the Packers. Rodgers can handle him and make better use. Bills still only have one TE signed. lets fix that first and an O line that , well , needs some work. long term sustainable winning. that means smart staggered contracts. Brown should go to a very solid SB contender. just my humble opinion. ( and i think his screws are too loose )
  6. I dig ya. Having faith in the FO with player acquisition is hard for longer term Bills Fans. McBeanes ? They seem to have some defining methods. Being able to move up and down the draft seems to be something Bills will do under Beane. Risner seems to be a good fit for every reason !
  7. it is a fine post. ignore the rabble find it quite fun when our folks who study college ball and consider what might work for the Bills. BPA is over rated until you are already stacking and shedding. What fits Bills method of operation is strong subject matter, and i always learn a great deal in this type of thread. I do not watch any football but Bills...and need all the help i can get this time of year. ( the offseason )
  8. like the Hughes reference. Honest question Do Bills trade out of nine with having a firm plan and nods and winks amongst other similar minded GM s. i think at that in the first round ? If they move, they know who they will get. Or willing to take one of two or three players of equal or better value. The missing out thing i sure hope ! does not apply to getting your first round pick (s) : ) everything about Risner say Bills. including Risner actually saying it too. lol ps nice thread topic : ) very Billsy. in the good way ! Thanks for the gem !
  9. I see you are from Philly : ) I respect both points of view. Going to roll with whatever McBeanes decide.
  10. Yes and thank you. when he gets some blocking he will make them miss. he still has that. But his game awareness cannot be quickly replaced by rookies. How very many time i saw him wide open and looking back to Josh for the ball. with room in zone or singled up. folks may not have noticed that he was a perfect check down that was barely used. and yes, that is the best way to use him these days . his smarts to pick blocks and be/get open in short areas or sliding outside of the hashes
  11. ouch. i would think differently if McBeanes had not already stated they have him in their plans moving forward. as some mentioned we need a younger infusion at RB. for sure ! But i feel he still has enough to offer to break some even when the defenses are respecting him on the field
  12. I respect Charles Clay and his effort and will not damn him. But his knees were gone when we got him and as mentioned he never got any rhythm with our QBs. Whaley thought he getting solid targets in Clay and Watkins. but that soup never came to fruition for multiple reasons. Move was expected and needed , as i think he is done and now Bills have 1 TE on the roster. Croom. who is more a receiver. get to work Beane !
  13. not sure i can agree with this. there are more players to add that list did not work out at all. and self induced Talent vacuum does not forgive Bills FO in trying to reset.
  14. this is where context comes into play. Star and Edmunds are directly linked. if they both do their job ? The A B gaps should be a no go zone. over simplified by me but true enough It needed to be done. The contract is in question , but if that is what it took to bring him here? so be it. eye test told me he was slow out of the gate but steadily improved.
  15. only if you can promise we are not doomed. signed Doomed it also may be a Mother Hen reaction. We might have the Franchise QB starting next season ! and i do not want any one putting hands on him or shoving him to the ground ! Protect Josh at any and all costs : )
  16. One of the questions i have. would he be more likely competing for Miller's spot ? Keep in mind there are rumors the Offense is going to shift scheme. I see Teller remaining a project near and dear for another year or two to Bills FO. and all the talk about moving Dawkins to guard too. too early to call. at worst he is swing guard and #2 center maybe he can play Teams too : )
  17. it did become about solving the issues on Offense, its a fair digression
  18. Ouch considering it Is a position of need. I would like them to focus on a couple youngsters who can run and catch via the draft. To grow with Allen side by side kind of ? Foster should be one of those guys who can get dialed in with Josh next couple years. Lets get some more. But Bills do need to bolster the WRs as well from FA or trade. give me 2a at least lol. cheers !
  19. put me in that bucket as well. Lets hope they are right about this Guy. and they better know more than most of us here ! lol feels like Bills have done this before with the Offense. Under Mcdermott. In my opinion , humble as it may be , Bills better get the O line right this year. even depth. I will trust the process and use patience with lack of Pass catchers and solid young RB for the future. But i will not be at all happy to only raise level of Offensive line to " just average but we're working on it !! " ! : )
  20. agreed : ) this year is the defining of McBeanes motif or MO. fun stuff for sure !
  21. If they are still pursuing one of those fellows? i am delighted and will consider this a very wise move if Long becomes center by default? i will be less pleased.
  22. this is how i see it. especially the College bit. Keep Teller at LG. and give him a chance at RG. He can back up center. They still need to upgrade Bodine imho. i would prefer a more solid signing for starting Center. what does this say about Dawkins moving to guard though : ) ? My wager is Dion stays at T and Bills look to add /replace RT. not thrilled. But don't hate it either. waiting and seeing is my approach for now. and yet two of them were starters... wasn't Bodine a vet ? Mills Ducasse ? Just not leaders perhaps .
