It does seem very out of character. I actually thought it was a joke when it first came out. someone blew this up for clicks. If i was GM , i would have to make the call to the Steelers. for diligence sake. we may never know how the story become inflated. be quite starkly odd for McBeane to be chasing AB. especially after stating how they view WRs multiple times recently.

I am not sure about Beane yet. I could list quite a few negatives how has handled the Offense. As some mentioned, he has hung his hat on Allen's success. as he had to. How he maneuvered to get into position was pretty impressive. Respect that effort for sure Regardless of any actions he has flubbed. I have a great deal of faith in the FO these days. And this is quite an exciting off season to me. I feel as some others do. I need to see what they are lining up on Offense Day One before i praise McBeanes and Co. but for now. I approve of the direction Bills are headed long term Go Beane !

I think perhaps the point may be about the length of contracts. and securing a player who has potential upside and will play above his current pay grade. When i see a one year contract? i feel the Player is questionable at best for future or even long term potential for the Team. stopgap and or hope and wish player. I do hope and wish Phillips becomes and asset in the rotation : ) Reads like we may have had some competition fro him ? and reading his quotes maybe feels he will show he was underpaid but chose Bills because he fits here

Let us hope , if they make Big Time moves ? They make solid ones. No more Kelvin Benjamin BS. or injury risks. solid move and lots of them can be better than splash moves to fill seats ( see Antonio Brown ) ( Odell Beckham ) or Suh.

But if you do not have a solid starter, and are already hoping your Draft pick can be The Guy? Bills are taking too much risk. Get the Vet and then back him up with a develop. it is the way teams are built. Bills are not there yet. But I might guess that is the plan. The depth is actually the one who was brought in by drafting ,to succeed your 30 years old probowler on his most likely last contract

McD was spoiled the last two years. time for he and Leslie to build depth for years to come. Maybe dial in a couple moves. another young but solid 3 tech. and perhap a run strong MLB via FA so you can move Edmunds. But spoil the Offense and Brian Daboll a little. If they could fix the O line via free agency and top tier spending to and actually solidify that group for 3-4 years ? Do it and help the TE group immediately with FA and the draft. I think that makes you a contender and keeps Josh Allen on the Good Foot moving forward. It is exciting. I suspect Beanes wants to keep it boring though. just his nature ? Gimme two high level O linemen who will remain steady and solid from day one. and i will be pleased get 3 and i will dance the Cha Cha and video it . and we are in agreement. Improve the run game and O Line. Life becomes a bit more fun for Defense. win win win Go Bills

Including that particular starting TE earlier or even early , in the draft would be a serious game changer for the Bills Daboll Allen etc. I have mentioned before this is where I would spend my money. adding another steady TE in FA as well. get that running TE from ne. Get a Jesse James who can play steady in run or catch . That will help the short area passing game and option plays. Bills should consider drafting a that Hochenstein (sp ?) Kid who sounds like a a starter and then some ! get another body at WR via FA but not try to get your #1 there. Not this year for sure. Definitely draft a player at WR who can play sundays . and maybe another very late or udfa . I am not sure what they are doing with Allen this season. Imagine they do want to chunk yards to tire defenses and keep offense fresh. I hope Zay Jones takes another solid step and remains at slot WR for this season. If it was my money I would not be spending too much at WR this offseason unless it was Brown or Beckham. and i don't really care for either of them Process wise lol
