  1. I know your trade (Abraham to Houston) seems logical as he is a very good player but everyone in the "business" knows that the Jets have no choice but to let Abraham walk - they are 30 mil over the cap not counting the huge money Abraham will insist upon. Thus, your trade is way over-valueing Abe. I see no way that the Texans trade the rights to Bush away unless the deal is INCREDIBLE. Trading for a very high (and IMO over) priced DE for ONLY 1 pick would be great for the Jets and terrible for the texans. The Jets will not get Bush
  2. Five teams have a chance to finish the season with the worst record and get the first pick in the 2006 NFL draft. Ties are broken by measuring the strength of schedule. The team with the weakest schedule get the best draft pick (note that SOS is based on games through week 16) Team Next Opponent SOS Houston(2-13) @ San Francisco(3-12) .556 New Orleans(3-12) @ Tampa(10-5) .507 Green Bay(3-12) vs Seattle(13-2) .520 Jetssuckssuckssucks(3-12) vs Buffalo(5-10) .547 San Francisco(3-12) vs Houston(2-13) .573 Soooo, for the Jets to win the BushBowl, they must lose to Buffalo (doable) and Houston must beat San Francisco. Also, New Orleans must beat Tampa (very unlikely) and green Bay must beat Seattle (certainly possible since Seattle is sitting everyone this Sunday) The most likely scenario, IMO, is Houston "wins" the Bushbowl by losing to San Franciso, New orleans comes in second by losing to Tampa. I still think Green Bay loses against Seattle's third string. Under this scenario, Jets get the fourth pick in this April's draft. Bills will draft around 10-12 I think. That Tennesee third round pick is looking awfully "tasty" these days! It should be around 68-70 so Bills will pick at ~ 12, 44, 69, 76 (Howsabout 3 offensive linemen and 1 defensive tackle??). Keep Gandy, Peters and release Williams, Anderson, let Teague walk. And STILL sign one free agent offensive tackle at least.
  3. If you are interested - aa small contingent of CNJBBBers will be tailgating. I guess I can vouch for them when it comes to your daughter Let me know and I will provide you with email addresess etc. My wife and I are hosting at the club site (Bills Central) Our next planned visit to WNY won't be until next August (boo!)
  4. I knew some people would take offense at the ad I loved it - yes, the Bills lost (and the implication was AGAIN!!) but I loved how they "ACCURATELY" showed how the city itself (and the very world around us!) lived and died Bills red, white and blue. The depressed are healed and the lame walk. (I particularly LOVED the wheelchair bound octegenarian who started gyrating on top of her chair after the "score" Yep, pretty accurate. To each their own, my Buffalo Bills friend.
  5. I liked how the old woman in the wheelchair jumps up miraculously and starts gyrating!
  6. Bill - are you really this savvy? If so, kudos to you. This would mean, however, that you were critical of the pick when it was made and objected at that time to what he was paid. Is that the case?
  7. The Mike Williams bust has been devastating. One change I hope that is in order is for the new collective baragining agreement to limit rookie salary and bonuses. Rookie busts ALWAYS hurt the teams that draft highest due to the incredible bonues being paid to top 5 - to - top 10 picks. Busts are happenign all the time (or injuries) and then you have gobs of wasted money on your cap. Williams was as guaranteed a pick as you could have chosen at the point he was taken and still he ended up a bust (by the way, I wish we could avoid the christmas rush and release him now). Having said this - I agree with JfH - build the meat of the line and give JP some time to throw. PLUS, train him and the receivers for the blitz response throws. If Ralph wants to win "now" he has to force his GM to draft linemen and sign FA linemen. I don't know who will be available yet but that has to be the focus this offseason. With his injury, Edwards should be relatively cheap. Should we resign him? -RichNJoisy
  8. Bruschi can play center AND DB while still playing LB. HE IS A GOLDEN GOD
  9. I heard that Bruschi set the leg - I know he was playing in Miami at the same time. God's can ANYTHING I wonder why he didn't simply heal it? hmmmmm
  10. There were so many moments! First was when the Bills finally scored a TD (Davis around the left end) you could ALMOST audibly hear everyone in the crowd giving a collective (sarcastic) "yaaaaaaaaaaay" (with circling finger over their heads.....get it?) On the highlite reels - you can see one guy dumping TONS of confetti up in the air after this score - probably because, like everyone else - he was trying to be funny amd thought, "might as well get it out now, I won't be needing it again" Then the shock of the Oilers NOT expecting an onside kick after the score. Didn't everyone expect it? Guess not. Then, the idiots thought we would do one again after we scored right away after the onside kick (score was then 35-17..... Beebe's I think) Hello? Duh? We wree almost in the game then. An onside would have been STUPID. Then it became the Reich to Reed show. The biggest moment the 4th down TD from about the 18 yard line to make it 35-31. I was SHOCKED we didn't kick the FG. When Reed caught the TD I almost jumped through my ceiling. -RichNJoisy
  11. My two cents: My wife (RevNJoisy) and I attended the last two games before heading back to wet NJ. Both games were close and both games had opposing fans seated near us. Both games had drunks all around - a few more in the Jet game by a samll margin There WAS a lot more "banter" but IMO the Jet fans were insane - unless they wanted to fight. They were CONSTANTLY chiding the fans around them, shout JETSjetjetsjets after any positive jet play and calling for penalties on the Bills after every play. None of them near me were beat up but halfway through the second quarter I turned to my wife and told her to be ready for a brawl. Even my wife and another female fan in front of her finally got exasperated and it was THEY who started the JETSsuckssuckssucks over and over. Rude? Yeah. Called for. Wellllllllll......... I'd have to say, Yes! In conclusion, the Jet game was drunker, ruder by Bills fans but the Jet fans insisted on coming into the Ralph and thought they could chant their "slogan" and insult eevryone around them in Bills colors. Not in our House. -RnJ www.cnjbbb.org

  13. Update: - Cox Won't Play this Week -- Thu Sep 15, 2005 --from FFMastermind.com # The Tampa Tribune reports CB/KR Torrie Cox practiced with the Bucs on Wednesday, a day after he was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence -- his second such arrest in nine months. But HC Jon Gruden said Cox would not play in Sunday's home opener against Buffalo. "His future status will be decided upon later, but he ain't playing in this game," Gruden said. As for Cox's replacement, Gruden said WR/PR Mark Jones and RB Michael Pittman are the top two candidates for the kickoff return job.
  14. On the other hand, at bb.com, here is last week's injury report. http://www.buffalobills.com/team/injury.jsp Parrish is listed as OUT Could be that either ESPN page is not accurate OR that the report that Parrish was listed as questionable last week was inaccurate OR that the bb.com page was updated and change after the questionable report was first issued Anyway, I will watch the bb.com page for an update. -RnJ
  15. he is listed as questionable for this week (same as Parrish)
  16. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/injuries I would have expected OUT or DOUBTFUL The last I read, he still had a cast on.
  17. An Update: Buccaneers | Pittman Could Handle Kickoff Returns in Week 2 Wed, 14 Sep 2005 09:14:44 -0700 Shannon Colavecchio-Vansickler and Rick Stroud, of the St. Petersburg Times, report the Tampa Bay Buccaneers may employ RB Michael Pittman to handle kickoff return duties in Week 2 if CB Torrie Cox (personal) is unable to play due to a DUI arrest earlier this week.
  18. -- Torrie Cox Arrested for DUI -- Tue Sep 13, 2005 --from FFMastermind.com # AP reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB/KR Torrie Cox was jailed early Tuesday after being charged with driving under the influence, his second drunken driving arrest in nine months. Cox was arrested by Tampa police at 3:19 a.m. after he refused a blood alcohol test. The third-year player also was arrested on a DUI charge last Dec. 4, and he was held out of a game against Atlanta the following day. It could not immediately be determined if that case is still pending. Cox is a reserve cornerback and one of the team's primary kick returners. He returned four kickoffs for 83 yards in Sunday's 24-13 season-opening victory over the Minnesota Vikings. He also made one tackle. ******************************************************************** WTF? Does he think he plays for Miami?
