  1. he won't be there at 28. he blocks, he catches, he thinks it is a huge need - the hell with the "Reach" issue. Take him at 11 and know you have put a very good player on your team. and who knows, Ayers may fall to 28. if not him, then Britton will be there.
  2. Maybe I missed it in this rather long thread - but didn't the trade of McGahee also result in an extra pick we used to select Trent Edwards? As to the list above (Pat Williams, Antoine Winfield, Jason Peters, and even Nate Clements) - Williams not being resigned WAS a mistake. No doubt. AT THE TIME, I wanted him resigned but I was concerned about his age. In retrospect, it was not an issue. Winfield and Clements were WAY overpaid by their respective teams. I don't agree with you premise that the Bills should have paid their asking prices. As to peters, we shall eventually know who "won" this trade but my take is that he wanted too much money since his play has regressed for two years straight plus he was disloyal, disruptive and uncommunicative. After he opened his mouth this past Sunday, I can now understand why he did not talk much. It brought to mind his Wonderlic score. It was a 9 (which approximates an IQ of 78). my 2 cents
  3. I would think this reduces the chance of the Jags taking Maclin now at pick 8.
  4. I absolutely love the excitement of having Roscoe back there with the possibility - every time - of a game changing return. Having said that, I am still FOR a trade since he is almost (I said ALMOST) worthless outside of punt returns. I do remember his great series of catches last year against Oakland - with a wrist/finger injury too as I recall. My huge problem with him is his consistent inconsistency when playing regularly at WR. When Reed went down, instead of taking this opportunity it was like he was not on the field. I started watching him and Trent and I noticed time and again that Trent would throw and Parrish would be in the wrong place (my take IS that Trent threw correctly and Roscoe botched the pattern). If I am correct, Roscoe will never be much more than an occasionally brilliant playmaker but otherwise unreliable WR. With the addition of TO and Johnson coming on plus the return of Hardy, the Bills simply cannot afford to waste the roster spot on Parrish. I hope they use the trade value wisely but who knows.....
  5. What an interesting draft for Bills fans next Saturday. Most pundits have the first four off the board as Stafford - J smith - Curry - Monroe. But Curry MAY not go at #3. I doubt this but it is a possibility. Also, after the small chance of KC not taking Curry comes Seattle who might forgo taking Monroe and, instead, go for Sanchez or Crabtree. As a Bills fan, I will be thrilled if either a run on QB's emerges early or if Crabtree goes early and then (hopefully) Maclin. This would drop the OT's and DE's plus Raji should go in the top 10. In the "run" scenario, Andre Smith should fall to 11. Then, we wait and see if the Bills will go that route or take the best DE on the board. I haven't completely ruled out the drafting of Pettigrew at 11 (but I will be surprised). Then, we wait for pick 28 for the OPPOSITE to the pick 11 pick (if Bills go DE....wait and hope Oher or Britton falls). If Andre, then see if Ayers falls. My guess at this point will be the DE at 11 and then hope for Britton or Oher at 28. Then best TE left in round 2. The possible trades of Kelsay and Parrish in addition to the refusal (apparently) to take a 1 and 3 and instead taking a 1 and 4 and next year 6th lead me to believe the Bills are aimed at stockpiling picks for some trades. Waters? Scheffler? A trade up? -RnJ
  6. I don't think he'd care. He gets paid if he is hurt or not. If he plays well or not. He wanted green. The eagles think he wants to wear green. Nope. He wants it in his wallet. Good trade. Good riddance.
  7. Rick Gosselin's 2nd mock draft - BASED ON NEED http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...t.e3cc4cc9.html
  8. Well, I guess I am among the very few - I won't miss the holdout I won't miss the 11.5 sacks I won't miss paying him $10-11 mil per season I really thought the offensive line play last year dropped precipitously right when Butler went down and played well in weeks 1-2 without Peters. In my opinion, he was not worth it and I think the eagles are crazy to give up a 1st rounder+ and pay the guy 7 digits in salary too. My 2 cents and I realize I am in the minority here. ***** As to the draft,

  10. Not just a great signing but a perfect signing for the "new" Bufelon Bills. From Buffalo Rumblings, "His one season in Oakland included a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. He was also arrested in February of 2007 for drunk driving, eventually pleading guilty. His license was suspended for 180 days and he was fined $2,000 as a result of the incident." O.K. We can put Ko (Not O.J.) Simpson, Lynch and Rhodes in an SUV. Now....who drives? Simpson of course! He has no driving issues. Yet Now, if we can bring back Hargrove.......we'd have one hell of a foursome.
  11. ESPN2 is having a schedule release special at 7 pm
  12. Do we quit the season after 15 games? THAT should be a bonus of 100 points!
  13. Does BOLD mean home game in your list? If so - I love it! We get 9 home games! woo - hoo!
  14. My guesses: 9/14 Bills at New England (MNF) 9/20 Miami at Bills 9/27 Bills at Tennessee 10/4 Houston at Bills 10/11 Jets at Bills 10/18 Bills at Atlanta 10/25 Bills at Kansas City 11/1 Tampa at Bills 11/8 BYE WEEK 11/15 New England at Bills 11/22 Bills at Miami 11/29 Bills at Jacksonville 12/6 Indianapolis at Bills (Toronto) 12/13 Bills at Carolina 12/20 New Orleans at Bills 12/27 Bills at Jets 01/03 Cleveland at Bills
  15. My bad - I was distracted by the Mets game - I thought Thomas visited the bills nevermind
  16. Good link Beerball! He has Brown pretty high (as does ALMOST everyone else) Ayers is a player I have seen all over the place. In your link, he has him #38. I also see he has Oher #13 I really expect a very interesting day with so much (apparent) widespread views on player values. This gives me reason to wonder if the Bills WILL actually draft Pettigrew at #11 (a REACH? - yeh, well, there's that widespread subjectivity thing going on this year). The widespread opinions could also mean tons of trades in round 1 when teams see players they could not believe falling to within reach of them. There is also the possibility of team's NOT drafting and waiting for a few picks to get to the podium. I prefer a trade up to low 20's to nab Pettigrew before Atlanta but I doubt this will happen. -RnJ
  17. You are absolutely correct - very few rookie WR make an impact and you never know from what round the rare rookie will come from. Boldin comes to mind as an example...wasn't he 7th rd? Andre Reed, Eric Moulds started to perform in their third years.
  18. you don't know what you are talking about. STATISTICALLY he has been CONSISTENTLY the best. Do your homework. Sometimes it appears people here simply want to be "smart" and "negative" And thanks to MAX997 for making a constructive comment - this first pass is indeed from his top 32 rankings. His third pass will combine his rankings with how he truly thinks the draft will go. Look for it around the 22nd. As to Brown - some scouts are down the guy but not in the top 32? Interesting.
  19. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...ft.24fa77e.html Gosselin consistently is the best of the Draft prognosticators. Crabtree at 4 is a surprise (I expect him to fall to 7) and Monroe all the way pick 8 Oher falls to 29 too. His draft assumes no trades. Jets would be unhappy in this scenario - all three QB prospects gone by pick 12.
  20. You are correct. Only the WHEN part was an unknown (until now). Obviously, making a a stellar player happy, and at a reasonable price, was a good move. Stroud performed and was reasonably patient (at least publicly). Peters has done neither of late. Protecting Trent this season is a major goal what to do about Peters is unclear. It IS clear that players CAN force trades - it seems that is what Peters is doing. If true, then the only "drop dead" date (in my opinion) is Draft Day since the Bills must get reasonable value (subjective) back for him and that means high draft picks when a replacement player is still on the Board. If Peters is traded, the Bills will not only need a new DE and TE but also an OT. I am still hoping for a trade with Denver for Scheffler. I guess my "dream" draft would be Oher at pick 11, trade of Peters to draft Ayers at 21 and trade of a 3rd or 4th rounder for Scheffler. -RnJ
  21. Jon Runyan - coming off knee surgery (and is not expected to be ready to practice until July) - is a free agent. worth looking into as a stop gap while a rookie OT is brought up to speed?
