quick note: Stupar back on practice squad
richNjoisy replied to richNjoisy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like Stupar too. Your assessment as to the Bills protecting him (not) is spot on other than any idea people might get that releasing him and passing through waivers is any different than him being on a practice squad with the lone (and big exception) of the fact that he cannot be signed off of our practice squad onto someone else's practice squad. He can, however, be signed off waivers onto someone else's practice squad. He can only be signed off the practice squad directly onto another team's 53 man roster. So, making through waivers is only important if Jonathon WANTED to switch practice squads (which would be unusual at this point). Given nelson's play on Monday, Stupar's chances dropped a bit but I expect him to be on the Bills roster due to injuries before the end of the season. -

As soon as I heard about the vandalism, I thought the same things you did - embarrassment, anger and then resolve - the resolve to CHEER Leodis when he is introduced. to the vandal(s) - screw you. Go live in Philadelphia, there's room for one more.

There is absolutely no reason for you to pay $350 for 1 night to get a good room within walking distance of a casino you could try Courtyard Niagara Falls by Marriott average of ~ $110 a night for fri-sat-sun Saturday is $157 a lot cheaper is Michael's inn at $110 for a saturday night stay don't forget your passport to cross into canada by the way, you could stay stateside - there is a casino in niagara fall NY a stay at the 4 points sheraton is reasonable good luck RichNJoisy Central NJ Bills backers -
From profootball.talk.com: According to Buffalo head coach Dick Jauron, Bills middle linebacker Paul Posluszny will be down for "several weeks" with a broken left arm. The development puts Buffalo in the market for linebacker help this week. Posluszny, who lost his rookie season in 2006 to a broken arm suffered at Gillette Stadium, told Allen Wilson of the Buffalo News that this injury isn't as serious because there's only one broken bone in the arm as opposed to two which was the case in 2006. Posluszny said that he will need surgery but added, "I should definitely be back. From what they told me it's not an I.R. (injured reserve) thing." The Bills don't have a lot of depth at that spot with young Marcus Buggs or Keith Ellison looking like the guys on the roster who'll replace Posluszny. Ellison was beaten by Benjamin Watson on the game-winning touchdown Monday night. The Bills could also go after Pat Thomas, a player they released late in training camp who started eight games for the Chiefs in 2008. The Bills also played the second half against New England without defensive end Chris Kelsay who got leg-whipped by a teammate. There's no word yet on his status for this week.

welllll, I did say THICK chains.

If he lands there and passes a physical - tie him to a chair using thick chains until he sign a contract you could say I want him

Don't want to give Dick too much credit, but...

Look everyone - we have all suffered through one Cheatriot loss after another. Beating them means the Bills do two things REALLY well (which they have been unable to do since the Home Opener way back on September 7th, 2003) 1.) pressure Brady forcing bad throws 2.) Not turn the ball over If the Bills do that they have a chance of winning. Do I think Jauron could STILL lose if #1 and #2 come to pass? you betcha -
I definitely noted Stupar's play last Saturday. Interesting life story too. I plan to watch him specifically and see how this plays out. he might be something special. rewatching the game, man does Wood look good. another player I am watching closely.

Nick Wright of KCSP radio in Kansas City has reported that Jackson's deal is for five years and $57 million, with $31 million guaranteed. Jackson was the third overall pick in April's draft. If the figures hold up, Jackson will receive only $2 million less in guarantees than number two pick, Rams T Jason Smith. (my source is: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/...ion-guaranteed/ )

"WHY IS THIS BEING ADVERTISED? " - I have wondered this myself. Let me start off my own thoughts with this: We have the worst coaching staff (particularly Jauron) in the league. This fact certainly impacts my thinking about the no huddle announcements. So, it could just be stupidity. On the other hand, hiding the preparation for this might have been nearly impossible since they obviously plan to practice this a lot. When Jimbo and company employed this, they were starting from a full playbook with an offensive squad that knew a zillion plays. In this case, they are working with a lot of players (particularly the linemen) who will be starting from relative (or absolute) scratch. So not only will they need to learn how to play "no huddle" they also have to learn the plays being called. A more difficult task. So, by focusing on fewer plays (by design), this theoretically makes it easier for the players to know what to do. As far as opponents preparing for the no-huddle, this involves working on very fast player substitutions, perhaps more "vanilla" player packages (to avoid being caught in a pass or run package), and trying to recognize repetitive plays (this last is not as easy as it may sound since one key to the no huddle is mixing formations up while calling the same play). In other words, there is not a whole lot one can do to prepare for the no huddle. perhaps the biggest thing for defenses is to not panic and to be ready for the snap of the ball. My conclusion is that it matters much less that the Bills are announcing this as much as how well they (ugh...that word) EXECUTE the plays. I certainly like that Trent will be in command more. In my opinion, he's the smartest man on the team. I'd have him calling the defense if I could order it. my 2 cents -RichNJoisy

Hey Tell him (for me!) that we're glad he's here and to get in Jauron's face when he is certain he caught a ball and it was ruled incorrectly on the field. Tell him Dick is amazing at getting EVERY CHALLENGE wrong so...help him out, will you TO? Go Bills!

from kffl.com: Patriots | Bruschi could retire after 2009 Tue, 23 Jun 2009 06:18:57 -0700 Mike Reiss, of The Boston Globe, reports New England Patriots LB Tedy Bruschi said the 2009 season could be the final year of his career. However, Bruschi, whose contract expires after the 2009 season, is leaving his options open. "It has to be that way, not only for me but also the team," Bruschi said. "I have to give them everything I have this year and only think about what's next. I'm going to prepare myself for this season, only think about this season, and when the season is over, which is a long ways away, then you think about delving into those decisions." Armageddon awaits The 1st of the 7 seals will be opened The Bills will win a Super Bowl Wait@! How'd THAT get there?

This is WAY too positive a post to TBD Please prepare to be reamed. Seriously, there are many many unknowns on this offense which makes it simply impossible to discern at this point in time how good they actually might be. You mentioned the new offensive line as the only question mark. You were right to mention them because it is a HUGE question. Certainly, it is a good thing that there are new faces since last year's line stunk. But until they actually start opening holes and giving Trent time to throw, one has to be cautious in predicting anything other than "improving but with a learning curve". As to RB and WR - you are correct in pointing out that the Bills are VERY strong there. We are looking at three decent WR's (Parrish, Hardy and Johnson) fighting to get on the field at all. I, too, like Trent but he has shown flashes of incredible ineptness (inaccuracy) and takes WAY too many hard hits even when he see the guy coming. He is an injury waiting to happen on every play. On the other hand, he has shown the ability to destroy blitzing teams and is at his best when under the gun. These are indicators of potential greatness. He is still a question mark in my book. Also, he has yet to defeat the spread (multi-DB) defense. He plays much better when the defenses attack him. I blame this on terrible coaching since having tons of time to throw should be an easier situation.....but not for Trent (so far). We also do not yet have a proven TE. I do not believe this offense can excel without a decent TE IMO. Lastly, you cannot put this offense ahead of the Cheatriots. Never (until we finally beat the bastards that is) -RnJ
