  1. Professional career Berger was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the sixth round (207th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft. However, he was signed to the practice squad and never played in a game for them. He was picked up by the Dolphins before the start of the 2005 NFL season, and played in three games. A sprained right foot suffered in training camp kept him inactive during the 2006 season, and he was eventually waived. Shortly after his release from the Dolphins in 2006, Berger was claimed by the Cowboys. A restricted free agent in the 2008 offseason, Berger signed his one-year tender offer from the Cowboys on April 17. After becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2009, Berger re-signed with the Miami Dolphins on February 27. He became the Dolphins starting center on September 9th, 2010 On Sunday, September 12th, Berger missed a block allowing Bills NT Kyle Williams in untouched to slam Dolphin QB Chad Henne from behind, sight unseen. Henne's funeral is scheduled for Thursday, September 16. in lieu of flowers, the Henne family requests donations be made to the recently formed "save the fish" society of Miami, Florida

  3. Well, at least two of your "brethren" from the Northern NJBBB will be at the Tailgate with us - Greg and Darren. your children (haha!) hmm, does that make them my grandchildren??? nawwww
  4. Hey there bigger-than-Sid guy! NO! no more photo shoots! And, no, no website since with the 10 year playoff drought, CNJBBB membership has dropped. I no longer have a "website manager" so I let it go. Maybe if the Bills start a winning streak, things will pick up enough to warrant a return of the site. We would LOVE to see you at the Jacksonville game! Lot 1, just past the green dumpster, same row as Pinto Kenny. Lisa and I plan to show up this Sunday at around 9 am. I should have hot wings done by 9:45 or 10 am. But that is contingent on my "hardware provider" (Ron Stilwell) who is a member of the CNJBBB who moved to the promised land two years ago. He has his own cooker set and he brings it to games allowing more space for beer in my trunk for the return to 'joisy. ahhhhhh genny cream Go Bills! -RnJ
  5. Tackle Jake Long returns to Miami Dolphins practice on limited basis By The Associated Press (CP) – 3 hours ago DAVIE, Fla. — Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl tackle Jake Long is back at practice on a limited basis. Long, nursing a left knee injury, was involved in some of Wednesday's workout. Linebacker Channing Crowder, who has been sidelined since Aug. 17 because of a groin injury, jogged on the side. The Dolphins open the season Sunday at Buffalo.

  7. From: http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thedailydolphin/2010/09/08/miami-dolphins-notes-jake-long-returns-clifton-smith-signs-bill-parcells-watches-practice/ A few Miami Dolphins notes to jump-start your Wednesday: * Breathe easy, Dolfans — offensive tackle Jake Long (left knee) returned to practice Wednesday after missing sitting out Monday. The media is not allowed to watch the team portions of practice, so it is unknown how fully Long will participate today, but Richie Incognito said on 790-AM radio yesterday that Long will play against Buffalo. * The Dolphins officially signed former Pro Bowl kickoff returner Clifton Smith, which we first told you about yesterday. Smith, 25, chose the Dolphins over the Packers after being cut by the Bucs over the weekend. Smith, entering his third season out of Fresno State, was placed on injured reserve last December after suffering his second concussion of the season. He missed the Bucs’ first two pre-season games last month because of knee pain related to gout. When healthy, Smith has been one of the league’s best kick returners. He was an undrafted free agent in 2008 who didn’t make the Bucs’ final roster, but was placed on the practice squad and eventually earned a promotion. He played in nine games in 2008, and starred at kick returns, taking one 97 yards for a touchdown and earning a berth to the Pro Bowl. Last year his 29.1-yard average was the highest in the NFL among players with 20-plus returns. To make room for Smith, the Dolphins waived offensive lineman Joe Reitz, who was just picked up this weekend. * Bill Parcells, who took a step back from the Dolphins yesterday, hasn’t stepped back too far, yet. He was back in his usual spot at Wednesday’s practice, sitting right next to Jeff Ireland on the sidelines of the Dolphins’ practice bubble. * LB Channing Crowder once again did not participate in practice.
  8. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=easterbrook/100907_tuesday_morning_quarterback&sportCat=nfl Gregg Easterbrook Ten years since playoffs: How much lower can they go? The Buffalo Bills. Forecast finish: 4-12
  9. Fantastic!!! I am pumped (news: Jake Long did not practice today either) Go Bills!
  10. George (6’4” 251) was signed after the draft by the Carolina Panthers, but was released by the club in June. A second team All-Mountain West Conference selection as a senior at BYU, George had 70 receptions for 827 yards and 11 touchdowns in 38 career games for the Cougars. Perhaps his biggest play was his 25-yard touchdown reception in overtime to beat 22nd ranked Utah last November. He was the team’s second tight end behind Baltimore Ravens fourth-round pick Dennis Pitta. George’s measurables are considered pretty good for a tight end. At his BYU pro day this past spring he had a 4.79 40-time along with a 35-inch vertical leap and nine-foot five-inch broad jump.
  11. This would be my prediction too. Maybe Gaines too.
  12. I don't usually read , let alone start, a thread on trades but oh well..... I realize the league knows the Bills will be releasing a QB before the start of the season but having your backup QB in place soon rather than later might induce a team to ante up (a bit). I was think of the possibility of a trade with Tampa - Fitzpatrick for TE Jerramy Stevens Tampa needs a backup and the Bills needs a veteran TE. ?????
  13. This would be terrible news if true. I didn't know that this sort of injury was so difficult to treat and cure. Apparently it is OR Jairus' case is particularly unique and difficult.
  14. I guess we are more trusting in Central Jersey. and no I don't wanna buy a watch
  15. what are you saying exactly? OC's post strongly suggests that discussions are taking place NOW...right? Ralph is still alive, isn't he? And does OC's post mean the entire team has to be sold or could the discussion be part ownership leaving Ralph in charge while he is still alive? As to a city sweetheart deal - given the economy isn't such a deal highly unlikely - at least for the foreseeable future?
  16. bump Did a lot of you guys miss this or are people convinced OC is a fake? I found this intriguing and it fits with the facts that we have heard (Jimbo says money is not the issue). 'd love to hear from people concerning what they think about this posting - if this is accurate it is really pretty encouraging news. Does anyone know this poster? Sounds legit to me. hope so.
  17. I would say it would be even a bigger deal than that - the Kelly group - if they owned 30% - would have a huge say in who buys the Bills. They obviously would have a huge advantage over other buyers.
  18. Wait a friggin' minute. The "experts" have the Bills losing 13-14 games! How can the Bills do THAT with a top 5 defense??? The Bills won 6 games last year with the 30th ranked offense. Oh! I get it! The Bills will have the 40th ranked offense this year. Must be
  19. O.K. Let's say it is the Bills. What would this mean for the big issue - the move of the Bills after the death of Ralph? More likely? less likely? If the 30% were to a local businessman or group, same question.
  20. Cheatriots why? because they cheated
  21. For those with the NFL Network, here is when the FIRST showing of a tape-delayed Bills preseason game will be shown: Thursday, Aug. 19 11 p.m.: Indianapolis Colts at Buffalo Bills Sunday, Aug. 29 2 a.m.: Cincinnati Bengals at Buffalo Bills Friday, Sept. 3 Noon: Buffalo Bills at Detroit Lions
  22. I don't know. I like the one in the snowy crowd with the Go Bills letters for the Bills site, it is a nice offer. IMO
  23. Are any of you old enough to remember when the Bills decided to start using Steve Tasker more? It was great when he'd line up outside or in the slot and the roll back to take the hand off for an outside run. I have been thinking a lot about CJ's speed and using the same play.......
  24. The timing of this and some other players contracts is FINALLY a break for the Bills - we have no holdouts. San Diego is the most F-ed with a pro bowl WR and a Pro bowl OT holding out. One would THINK that a new collective bargaining agreement will include a salary cap but having said that it is hard to imagine that average salaries of the top players will drop. I would think what will drop will be the lower end players salaries and - in particular - rookie salaries. No one (except agents and rookies) like the way the 1st rounders are occupying salary cap space. But - if their salary drops - I can mostly see it working back in to maintain upper echelon player salaries. As to how this actually plays in to the Revis situation one can only conjecture but it SOUNDS like both sides have points and neither side is willing to bend. In fact, and this is the FUNNY part (for a Bills fan), it is starting to sound personal which is a huge mistake for both sides. Since I know no one that matters is reading this (ha ha) I can safely resolve this - I would offer Revis the same deal + a little more than what Debrickashaw was given with a huge salary for year one (the uncapped year) and then salary and bonuses in annual chunks to balance out possible new CBA situations. Yes, he is breaking a contract but he was going to make $20 mil plus if he did not get hurt over the next 3 years. Make it $45 with 30 mil guaranteed. but, they keep on insulting each other....sweeeeet
