  1. Peter King (SI) loves it. His twitter: "Re Buff's Fitzpatrick $9.9 per year for 6 yrs: the right money for a good QB and excellent franchise leader. Love this deal for both sides."
  2. No it won't. he KNEW Fitz was the top priority. Now, they SHOULD start to talk to him and then Stevie......
  3. Do you know what the law is in Orchard Park, NY? I grew up in Williamsville, and open containers was illegal except on your personal property (your own Home). I am noit sure if it has ever been legal in Rich Stadium (Ralph) parking lots. Tailgating - and the NFL knows this - is a big reason people come to the games. The Commissioner even mentioned it in one of his press conferences talking about how having filled stadiums was an important part of the "show" that the NFL provides. I totally agree with him - watching on TV is enhanced by a full stadium with rabid fans. Watching Dolphin games where they never seem to sell out is not as fun as watching, say, the Chiefs play the Bills in Arrowhead. My (longwinded) point is that the NFL is supportive of tailgating as part of the way they make money on their product. We fans certainly support it. One of the great things about this country is that LAWS are sometimes used as guidelines (like when a cop doesn't give you a ticket but, instead, gives you a warning). I have viewed the Open Container laws as guidelines to enforce when abused (like drinking on beaches or in parks OR AT TAILGATES). So, your "no more tailgating" end-of-the-world scenario MAY happen but the NFL knows that Tailgating is of value....they just have to decide what's optimal (so they make the most money). I think enforcement of "A-holes" (drunk, beligerent, etc etc) has been the growing official (non official) policy. I think it makes sense. -RnJ
  4. Same distance for me approximately coming from 'Joisey. I went to the Opener and the Eagle game already and MAY try to come up for the Titans game if the Bills are still in the hunt. Playoffs???? purrrrrrr
  5. I basically agree with you PTR - I do hate the loss of the Ralph atmosphere and 12-th man advantage but again some posters here simply are convinced Ralph is a money-hungry blah blah blah so any move he makes that makes money for the team is greedy yada yada. This deal with Toronto is a no brainer for a business - presale of the total gate at a hugely marked up price? Ummmmm, hmmmmmmm, yeh. I accept. Now the huge downside is at least - IN PART - blamable on US FANS for not being willing to pay twice the cost (approximately) to drive even further than usual for the less tailgating (all drawbacks for us fans) but we still COULD attend if we wanted to (and could afford it). So far, I have consider the extra 2 hour drive but have yet to do so. So I am part of the problem. Again I prefer to have all home games at The Ralph but I also want to keep the Bills in Buffalo and I simply do not agree with those that argue that this deal makes it more likely the Bills will move (especially north). This has been a loser for Toronto so far and big time. They have not shown that they can support a team....more the opposite. For a potential new owner - moving the Bills means losing the Toronto deal in addition to the Billion $ + other costs. I hope the Bills do not negotiate a new deal with two home games in Toronto but - if they do - I hope there can be some compromise with lower ticket prices and some more thought to tailgating. I guess I feel like being flamed today...huh Promo? Go Bills! RnJ
  6. you're joking, right? everybody and their kid sister has it now pm me and give me an email address. I can attach it and sent it. Go BillS!
  7. of course!
  8. I just got back from The Ralph - and nope, I am NOT heading to NJ Stadium this time. I suggest he check with the NYC Backers.
  9. Comfort Inn-Cheektowaga using AAA still has rooms. Looks like SATURDAY is the problem day and not Friday. Village Haven looks like they have rooms too. Never stayed there so I can't recommend move quick - I also found : Red Roof Inn #7055 (Hamburg) using AAA
  10. I have not heard him a lot recently being out of town (NJ) but what I heard in previous years made me really dislike his calls (not much excitement). More recently, however, I have heard a noticeable change (improvement). So, I am starting to like his calls much more than in earlier years. My 2 cents -RnJ
  11. That's because it is not at a bar but is at my house oh and I don't maintain the website anymore,....too cheap I guess we've been around for jeesh 12-15 years or so I think. pm me or email me at lncgdg@netscape.net doors open this Sunday at 12. Ask around --- my wings are "o.k" right everyone?
  12. Sure, they have to play well, John but the key is pressure. The Bills HAVE to put pressure on Brady or it is all over. By the way, as if the Bills NEEDED additional incentive to win this one, The Raiders are using as bulletin board material the film showing Jets QB Mark Sanchez eating a hot dog during the game 2 years ago in a 38-0 blowout of Oakland. Apparently the Raiders plan to inflict some PAIN on Mr. S. A Jets loss and a Bills win would put the Bills alone in 1st place. Can you imagine this?
  13. yes, by not counting I MEANT they were not 19-0 but whatever....
  14. You are close but here is how the definitions go: Brady is Jesus Christ or Golden Boy (take your pick) God WAS Tedy Bruschi (remember he could raise from the dead, make tackles and save puppies all at the same time?) Belicheat is "son of Satan" or the "spawn from Hell" (again, take your pick) The Cheatriots are the only team (Miami doesn't count) to go 19-0 (I have SEEN the tee shirts...funny but only in Indonesia?) They NEVER lose even if the score looks that way after the gun sounds. As Berman would say, "That's why they (don't need to) PLAY the GAME!" I am sure I can find a sound clip of that quote somewhere. I mean, he must have said it....we are talking about New England.
  15. New England Patriots P Zoltan Mesko (undisclosed) suffered an undisclosed injury in the third quarter in Week 2 and it is unknown if he will be available for Week 3. source is kffl.com
  16. According to Mark Gaughan, we have this: "Bills receiver Stevie Johnson is watching practice in the fieldhouse today and not working with the rest of the wideouts. Johnson was not on the injury report Wednesday. However, he appeared to tweak his knee early in Wednesday's session and took a few practice repetitions off. He then returned to the practice. Johnson was the only player not suited up, aside from cornerback Terrence McGee, who is out with a hamstring injury. Defensive tackle Torell Troup (sore back) was in uniform but was limited. Linebacker Arthur Moats (sore knee) appeared to be working fully. The Raiders have some major issues at receiver entering Sunday's game. No. 2 wideout Jacoby Ford (hamstring) did not practice and seems likely to be out. No. 3 wideout Louis Murphy (groin) is out." 17. Let's worry about the Cheatriots next week
  18. I agree completely with this sentiment. I am absolutely positive there is NO WAY the Bills will have an emotional let down. An 11-year, non playoff team coming off a 4-12 season does not get complacent after one win. The opposite is actually the more likely scenario. It goes like this: "Wow! Winning feels really really good!" "I think I will play my butt off so I can feel that way for another week." I plan to have no voice left at about 4 pm on Sunday helping the Bills make that goal.
  19. Pass interference on a Hail Mary vs Cheatriots right after the "just give it to them" call on a 4th down pass caught out of bounds short of the 1st down marker Sid Luckett's refereeing team 2nd runner up - losing to Dallas Monday night football (worst coached game I have ever watched)
  20. Great review Big Guy. Maybe you should have called it "Bills Central South?" BC is already spoken for in Central NJ as you well know! Lisa and I will be in the Mud Lot just to the right of the Fieldhouse this Sunday. Yep, I'll be cooking some wings! Go Bills!
  21. One of the things to realize is that defeating an opponent doesn't mean winning every play of the game. So far, it has been night and day going from a Jauron-prepared and Jauron-led team to a Gailey one. Which means, I am confident the coaching staff will know this and plan for this. Defeating a team like the Cheatriots DOES involve the absolute necessity of pressuring Brady but it doesn't have to be every play but enough to take him out of his game. I have always been an advocate when facing a team with ONE major player (in this case Brady) to focus on that one player even risking giving up points early to get him off his game. When a QB - you keep blitzing him until you have popped him enough times to see him start to flinch/look/rush. Dan Marino was a classic example of this - if he was comfortable, you were dead. This technique never worked against Joe Montana until very late in his career (on the Chiefs to be exact). It also did not always work with Brett Favre or Jim Kelly. Brady, actually, is a "little girl" if you hit him, he'll cry to the refs and start yelling at his linemen AND RUSHING HIS THROWS . I say, blitz with as many as you need while ATTEMPTING to not give up the TD throw but being willing to give it up (early) to pop him. If he's comfortable back there (see last night) - you're dead. 22. "playing with fire"? so what he's in league with the devil child's play
  23. Are you sure? I noted in the games I saw that the FIRST STRING defense covered well and, in addition, were not fooled by misdirection plays. The replacement players as the games wore on, however, looked pretty bad. I admit I missed the 4th game and only read about the third.
  24. Gaithers did not practice Friday and is now listed as questionable
  25. I am taking Houston in all my Survivor Pools.
