  1. http://nfl.si.com/2012/02/29/who-might-be-mystery-team-in-robert-griffin-iii-sweepstakes/?sct=hp_t2_a2&eref=sihp Unless there are truly cap implications I do not see, it seems to me the Bills could keep Fitzy around as a placeholder. One HIGHLY doubts the Bills would pull the trigger but it is fun to discuss during the offseason.....
  2. This is absolutely true now. However, the host of draft picks to move up is nothing to snort at. But again, at least the "missed" pick isn't as bad due to what you say - the cap hit for the missed pick doesn't last as long nor cut as deeply (see Ryan Leaf!). Oh, and "Janicks" - my Mario point had to do with how high in dollar amounts the bdding war wil be for Mario Williams. A bidding war may not develop for the 2nd pick of the draft for the very reasons you pointed out - RGIII is not a sure thing and a team will have to pay hugely in draft picks plus sign the young man for big (gish) money. MArio, on the other hand, is a proven commodity at a key position. No draft pick risk - you simply have to pay the man.....a lot. -RnJ
  3. I think you are both right and wrong - right in that the speculation of three 1s is crazy stuff. Wrong in your comparison from the standpoint of the #2 pick is much more valuable than the #6 plus what is at stake is not the top WR on the Board but a (supposed) FRANCHISE QB. I believe the final trade Team Unknown to Rams will be 2 1s and a number of extra picks from 2012 and possibly 2013. Bills would have to give up 2012 and 2013 1st rounders plus multiple picks in 2012 and 2013. A QUALITY player may also be required. It all depends on who is bidding and how much. It could get crazy. The Mario Williams $$$ bidding WILL be massive - count on it. The contract will be 3 digits ($100 mill +++) depending on the number of years and the guaranteed moola.
  4. This is my hope as well and the timing is very interesting - the Bills have cleared another 2-3 million in cap space the day before another round of negotiations with Stevie's agent. Craziness aside (end zone antics), I see no reason to not pay him $7.5-$8.5 million a year in a 4-5 year contract. I assume he wants 8.5-10 and the Bills are trying 5-6. Split the difference. And then move on to signing a new DE free agent or a new LT. RichNJoisy
  5. From KFFL.com today: Bills | Remain in talks with Stanford Routt Wed, 15 Feb 2012 06:56:59 -0800 The Buffalo Bills remain in talks with free-agent CB Stanford Routt (Raiders) despite Routt being engaged in talks with the Kansas City Chiefs for a second consecutive day Wednesday, Feb. 15.
  6. As to the main thread - Thanks for the solid rumor - with so much bad news lately it is great to hear some good news. as to the Sabres, I agree totally PTR - this is the WORST I have ever seen the Sabres. They can't score, they can't kill penalties, their goalies are bad, they don't hit, and they all stand around a lot. Time to fire a lot of people
  7. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/early-lead/post/tom-brady-misses-practice-is-he-injured/2011/12/29/gIQA2R4iOP_blog.html http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/29/tom-brady-injured-patriots-report-practice_n_1174805.html and also Adam Schefter in a tweet is reporting Brady missed practice Wednesday, on field but not practicing today. Hope he plays and we NAIL him I know.....(to some) "I'm mean" but I really hate Golden Boy.
  8. enough of this back to football the inactives list does not list stevie link: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7145516/week-10-inactives
  9. well, if you were to tell me you teach math or science...then yes, since you are trying to compare things that are the same as 'Being hit by lightning" with a car accident. and, do you put on your seat belt? if you do, that's prudent because it lowers your odds of being seriously hurt. but you're not listening so I'm done..
  10. apparently you know no one who has died from complications from the flu. so you are doubly lucky and you are an "educator"? I don't even want to know.......
  11. what's the point of trying to describe the science behind this... right? don't get the shot then keep rolling the loaded dice it's your life
  12. This drives me CRAZY why everyone (let alone athletes) do not get a flu shot. the flu knocks you out sometimes for WEEKS the shot doesn't always work but I have not caught the flu or 15 years one I started getting the shot aigh
  13. FYI: It is being reported that Kyle has already undergone surgery ...today .....on his foot Bills | Kyle Williams undergoes surgery Wed, 09 Nov 2011 10:22:50 -0800 Buffalo Bills DT Kyle Williams (foot) is scheduled to undergo surgery on his injured foot Wednesday, Nov. 9. 0 Comments | Share: Tweet! 14. Last time we played the Titans at night ....it was a Sunday and Rob Johnson was sucking it up pretty good then......he got hurt!!! WOooo Hooo...in came the Pillsbury Doughboy (Alex Van Pelt) who led the team to its first score and then another to win the game in the dying moments I was at that game with my wife RevNJoisy. Great fun!
  15. I agree with this completely. I would also add a few "over the top" throws hopefully to Donald Jones but if he is not available, to Namaan Rossevelt, Stevie Johnson, and Brad Smith. Wouldn't it be great to have Smith catch a TD? Oh - every time Maybin is on the field....run right at him.
  16. Bills DT Williams to test injured foot next week ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP)—Buffalo Bills starting defensive tackle Kyle Williams will have a better idea next week on the status of his injured left foot, and when—or if—he’ll be able to return to play this season. Williams says doctors intend to run tests on his foot on Monday, when the protective boot he’s been wearing for the past two weeks will be removed. Williams says he’ll also attempt to run on the foot to see if it’s feeling better. He’s not revealed the nature of the injury, only to say it’s bothered him since training camp. Coming off his first Pro Bowl appearance last year, Williams has missed the past two games, and has already been ruled out Sunday, when the Bills (5-2) host the New York Jets (4-3).
  17. Peter King (SI) loves it. His twitter: "Re Buff's Fitzpatrick $9.9 per year for 6 yrs: the right money for a good QB and excellent franchise leader. Love this deal for both sides."
  18. No it won't. he KNEW Fitz was the top priority. Now, they SHOULD start to talk to him and then Stevie......
  19. Do you know what the law is in Orchard Park, NY? I grew up in Williamsville, and open containers was illegal except on your personal property (your own Home). I am noit sure if it has ever been legal in Rich Stadium (Ralph) parking lots. Tailgating - and the NFL knows this - is a big reason people come to the games. The Commissioner even mentioned it in one of his press conferences talking about how having filled stadiums was an important part of the "show" that the NFL provides. I totally agree with him - watching on TV is enhanced by a full stadium with rabid fans. Watching Dolphin games where they never seem to sell out is not as fun as watching, say, the Chiefs play the Bills in Arrowhead. My (longwinded) point is that the NFL is supportive of tailgating as part of the way they make money on their product. We fans certainly support it. One of the great things about this country is that LAWS are sometimes used as guidelines (like when a cop doesn't give you a ticket but, instead, gives you a warning). I have viewed the Open Container laws as guidelines to enforce when abused (like drinking on beaches or in parks OR AT TAILGATES). So, your "no more tailgating" end-of-the-world scenario MAY happen but the NFL knows that Tailgating is of value....they just have to decide what's optimal (so they make the most money). I think enforcement of "A-holes" (drunk, beligerent, etc etc) has been the growing official (non official) policy. I think it makes sense. -RnJ
  20. Same distance for me approximately coming from 'Joisey. I went to the Opener and the Eagle game already and MAY try to come up for the Titans game if the Bills are still in the hunt. Playoffs???? purrrrrrr
  21. I basically agree with you PTR - I do hate the loss of the Ralph atmosphere and 12-th man advantage but again some posters here simply are convinced Ralph is a money-hungry blah blah blah so any move he makes that makes money for the team is greedy yada yada. This deal with Toronto is a no brainer for a business - presale of the total gate at a hugely marked up price? Ummmmm, hmmmmmmm, yeh. I accept. Now the huge downside is at least - IN PART - blamable on US FANS for not being willing to pay twice the cost (approximately) to drive even further than usual for the less tailgating (all drawbacks for us fans) but we still COULD attend if we wanted to (and could afford it). So far, I have consider the extra 2 hour drive but have yet to do so. So I am part of the problem. Again I prefer to have all home games at The Ralph but I also want to keep the Bills in Buffalo and I simply do not agree with those that argue that this deal makes it more likely the Bills will move (especially north). This has been a loser for Toronto so far and big time. They have not shown that they can support a team....more the opposite. For a potential new owner - moving the Bills means losing the Toronto deal in addition to the Billion $ + other costs. I hope the Bills do not negotiate a new deal with two home games in Toronto but - if they do - I hope there can be some compromise with lower ticket prices and some more thought to tailgating. I guess I feel like being flamed today...huh Promo? Go Bills! RnJ
  22. you're joking, right? everybody and their kid sister has it now pm me and give me an email address. I can attach it and sent it. Go BillS!
