  1. I don't remember those guys going into that detail but I would think all the more reason to load the box and have our corner's play strong man coverage in the secondary which is what we excel at. The Safety position has been a little weak but not awful so they should help cover in the secondary as well. You have to apply pressure at the line especially when you have high pressure guys... A least much more than Rex dials it up. Eventually you will get into the backfield and disrupt both the running game and the quarterback play. He needs to trust his linebacker's more..IMO
  2. Immediate gratification? What part of 16 years didn't you understand. Not interested in you any longer.
  3. When you go 16 years without a playoff berth and 21 year's without a playoff win coupled with a Defense that is built to win against good team's... yes I demand to beat those good team's. I'd say it's about time.. I had ask you but you obviously like to set the bar low.
  4. You sound like the guy's from WGR... We HAVE an elite defense!!! When are we going to stop making excuses by saying "hey we faced a tough team"?! We were ranked 4th last year in total D. It's time to DEMAND more. Just like a true conditioned Bills fan.... always accepting mediocrity. The time for that crap is OVER. Time to win and win NOW, AGAINST GOOD TEAMS!!! Pisses me off!!!
  5. Yes they did numerous times on I believe their Monday show. It's archived on the WGR website and it was beyond frustrating to hear Yes they did numerous times on I believe their Monday show. It's archived on the WGR website and it was beyond frustrating to hear
  6. I don't care how good an NFL offense is. We pay our guys huge money to be elite and they have proven in the past that they are. Are you telling me that all of a sudden the NFL offenses became so great and so fast that no NFL defense can stop an NFL offense? Are other teams having problems getting to the quarterback? I'm sorry but our scheme is the problem.. There is NO WAY that we have fallen off the mark so drastically with the SAME personnel for all intensive purposes as we've had the past two year's. For the guys at WGR to consistently say well hey, Rex probably feels that they aren't fast enough to get into the backfield and that's why his linemen are dropping back into coverage is ABSURD. So what are we supposed to do? Throw our pro bowl D Linesmen's hand's in the air and say yeah your right let's just not even rush the passer at all let's just drop into coverage? That's what the guy's at WGR would have you think. Give me a break....Our guys are pro bowler's and elite. The reason their not getting into the backfield is because there not being allowed to!!! The player's are upset about it and even Rex commented he should have came with more than three on Sunday more often than he did. They need to play a base 4-3 D/Wide nine, PERIOD. Kyle said himself he is used to having three finger's in the dirt and moving forward. Instead he is moving laterally (his own word's) ... Mario is used to playing Wide off the edge and rushing the passer from an angle. He need's to be lined up OUTSIDE of the tackle's, same with Hughes. These guys are not linebacker's. Speaking of linebacker's, Rex has his linebacker's so confused they can't even figure out each other's hand signal's with his EXOTIC defensive package's. This is ridiculous, Rex know's how to run a 4-3... he runs a hybrid now. it's time to get back to basic's and let his line ATTACK and let his linebacker's, safeties, and corner's cover the backfield. BTW, same special teams unit and it's like it became our job to do a complete 180 from last year. Can't stop the run on punt's and PENALTIES up the wazoo. Rex needs to run a 4-3/wide 9 base D and get his offense healthy so we can convert on 3rd down to keep our Defense off the field and I don't know maybe make the guys who commit penalties do pushups on the sidelines in front of 70,000 people... lmao. And oh yeah the guys from WGR are clueless...
  7. This thread is horrible.. The poster obviously has no FEEL for the game or it's moving part's. We are equipped to destroy the competition this year. The ONLY position I am even slightly worried about is our secondary. If Mcelvin can come back and stay healthy and Darby improves which he should, we should go deep into the playoffs and perhaps all the way. GO BILLS... Thank you for your presence in Buffalo Freddy J, you will be missed.
  8. I can't believe that anyone would even care to negatively comment about this thread... A man died yesterday.. a man who was a very big part of our culture and a man that I knew personally. I am a HUGE Bills fan... I love this organization dearly. I also LOVE Roddy dearly. Rowdy was working during that promo and somebody brought it to light. I could give a rats ass if this thread exists somewhere else. Maybe this guy didn't know and in all reality who gives a crap. Oh I know.. the two bills drive nazi police care. Get over yourselves... and once again who gives a crap if he's driving traffic. He's conducting business at the same time as discussing a topic that meant something to him. Big F'n deal.. GO BILLS!!! and RIP Roddy!!! you were one of a kind!!!
  9. I tend to agree.. If they really liked him and thought he was the answer they would have accepted his demands. The guy was weak.. I'm glad they let him go. The talent got us that record. It was hardly coaching.
  10. From my understanding the exercise was implemented to evaluate the impact it would have on the game. Once the results were gathered, the information would be used in order to discover whether or not the new rule would have an impact on the game overall. With the facts now present, it is clear that the new rule has had the desired effect.
  11. WOW, very nice possible insight... very intuitive.... I asked the same question yesterday... Things that make you go hmmm....
  12. Anybody else digging the new point after TD rule? Yes!
  13. Why shouldn't we compare him to Ben? If he is the bench mark (winning 2 super bowls) then we should absolutely compare the 2. If that is what we want, and it is, then anything less is same old same old and unacceptable. Why is it that our front office keeps spending money on inconsistent, noodle passer's that love to check down? Look at the other successful QB's and they just seem so much more crisp and decisive. It's still early and the O-line has not been set yet, coupled with a vanilla playbook, but for crying out loud how many times do we have to be in the red zone and only end up with 3 points?
  14. The bottom line is throwing a deep ball that connects enough to be dangerous as Thad has been able to achieve is going to open up the running game which we have. Checking down makes any opposing defensive strategy easier. That is why when Nate Hackett opens up the playbook for EJ we are more successful. However opening up the playbook for success is fine but the you must factor in a players overall ability to stay healthy in a league that demands health. EJ has struggled with that and if his college days are any indication of how he will fair in terms of health in the NFL then the nod has to go to Thad at this point. 2-0 as a starter with an undeniable command of the offense even through the occasional failure. Something that EJ cannot boast. Something tells me and of course I cold be wrong because let's face it 2 games does not an NFL quarterback make. But something tells me that, and I quote... (Al Pacino, Devil's Advocate) "And they didn't even see me coming". Something tells me this Thad Lewis just might have the Eye Of The Tiger. I love being a Bills fan!
  15. From what I see, I think one of our biggest problems has been the predictable and questionable play calling of Nate Hackett. He needs to mix up his packages. How many times are you going to run the ball on 1 and 2nd down? I understand if it is working for you but when the defense catches on and starts to slow you down you need to at least attempt to throw the ball on 1st or 2nd down to throw the defense off, even if it's just a little. Ive seen way to many drives where he calls 3 run plays in a row??? Who does that in this league? Some people on this forum have bashed Boomer Esiason's announcing today but I think he was spot on when discussing the Bills play calling. Soooo correctable though, thats whats killing me about this team this year. Also early on it was massive penalties that crushed us, we seemed to have improved there. Injuries haven't helped. Some clock mis management. Defense blowing 3rd and long just absolutely pisses me off week in and week out. Our OC is the biggest problem though. Good news is I feel like he is improving. He is dealing with a new job and a constant flux of personnel due to injury. He is so close... he just needs to mix it up. Football is about having a balanced attack not a predictable one. Overall I feel we are headed in the right direction. GO BILLS!!!
