VERY Smart Move By Vick
Homey D. Clown replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
who cares, he's an average at best QB with a limited shelf life. he signed a 1 yr agreement more liekly due to the CBA mess, and less likely for any other reason. -
I really wanted to put some thought into this, and it's a cool topic, but thinking about those 3 QBs made me constipated.

I would feel better about picking him up in the 3rd round, saving the first 2 rounds for the defense. Locker has the eerily similar feel to JP(rocket arm quick feet), and it's hard to want to go down that road again, no matter your stance on who was to blame for JP Losman's failure to develop. (I blamed 3 parts coaching, 1 part JP)

I absolutely got a kick out of the douche comment.

is PEGULA the next owner of the Bills ?
Homey D. Clown replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It has been mentioned publicly that Golisano would have a "heavy interest" in the Buffalo Bills, with strong emphasis on keeping the team in Buffalo. I don't have a link, but it was in an article related to his sale of the Sabres. His concerns were rooted in his other business ventures in WNY, as he benefits greatly on the Bills franchise being in the area. -
These are very good points, and things I haven't been looking at when evaluating him. My opinion of him as a player are based on some things I see in his game. I actually wasn't really referring to Buddy's statements of a one year wonder. I actually didn't even read what he said, this was more my take on his starting time, I will have to see what he meant now that you bring it up.

Since we have outstanding evidence on our own roster about 1 year college starters(See Aaron Maybin) why do so many people think Cam Newton can excel at the most difficult of positions with the same amount of experience? Nevermind all the other glaring red flags about the guy. Please don't take this as a personal attack on your opinion of him, but I do welcome your answers if you'd like to discuss with the focus around your logic, and what you see in him. Thanks! McCurse

I was very excited to see this team pick CJ Spiller, and did not see it as a luxury pick. My definition of a luxury pick is when you have 2 pro bowl, or elite players ahead of the player selected at a skill position, and the Bills had neither. What they had at the time of the pick was a 1st round bust who wanted out, and a 29 year old over-achiever who is very, very good, but cannot last forever. I'm sure Spiller's performance last year will make everyone doubt his ability, but I simply don't, and see him as part of the future of the team.

Another former Bill getting cut.

Regardless of what happened to our picks received from the Ravens, Mcgahee as a player has been nothing more than a 2nd or 3rd string back, at his best. Just because he celebrates all his touchdowns like he is the 2nd coming of Jesus doesn't make him a great player. We received plenty for garbage, and when you judge the trade on that, it was a great move for Marv. You really can't judge the trade on what we did with the picks, those are post fact, and separate GM moves. This was a great move for the franchise based on what was exchanged. -
No Matter Who You Want At #3

I would honestly be happy with any pick except for Cam Newton at #3, or DB/WR as the OP said. -
Perfect time for new ownership
Homey D. Clown replied to uticaclub's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I may not have clearly stated that he didn't account for it in his will, thank you for so childishly pointing that out, but where speculation does come into play is whether it states in his will that he is not leaving the team to his family, which he has, in fact publicly stated his intention to have the team placed up for sale, but not confirmed legally. In which case my previous point still stands. I was wrong about unaccounted for assets in a will going to the state, after I researched further, surviving family members can even inherit debt that was not specified in a will. Thanks for keeping the boards safe from error, you're doing great, keep up the good work. There's never a shortage of people around here who feel it necessary to disagree in the most childish, small minded ways, thanks for keeping the status quo. -
Pick the next owner of the Bills

I respectfully disagree. -
Perfect time for new ownership
Homey D. Clown replied to uticaclub's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In case anyone doesn’t remember what Ralph Wilson stated publicly, he is not leaving the team to any family members, and anything not left to someone becomes public property, which WILL be auctioned off to the highest bidder. His heirs will have no say in what happens to the team, as it is not being left to his surviving family, thus clearing them from any gains taxes they might incur if it was left to them, but completely removing them from being able to make any decisions as to what happens to it. If His surviving family wanted to take ownership of the team, they will in fact have to bid on the team just like everyone else. This is fact, not speculation, as long as his intentions for the fate of the team have not changed. All other discussions about his family selling the team to a local investor are a scenario that cannot happen. Ralph Wilson has put the state of the franchise once he passes in the worst possible scenario for Buffalo by not leaving the team to his family. If you think what he currently has in place is anything but a low down, dirty and selfish final act, and that there is any other possible outcome after he passes you are kidding yourselves. If the team is to stay in Buffalo, which doesn’t look promising, Ralph needs to rethink his plan, and do something right for a change. I am not a very big fan of Ralph Wilson, I’m sure most will not share this sentiment, but I have always seen him as a greedy, selfish, meddling business owner who’s real concern is to make profit, and winning has always been an ancillary concern. Don’t agree? Fine, but take a look at the startling fact that this franchise has roughly a 63% losing rate. Not enough to sway you? OK… how about selling the team’s soul to the Devil for 78 million dollars to play games in a stadium in Canada. Last time I checked, season ticket sales and turnstile count has been among the league’s best over the last 10 years despite fielding some of the worst, most embarrassing pieces of crap he called a team in 30 years, and that's saying something. The best we as true Buffalo loving Bills fans can hope is that someone steps up and buys the team with the intention of keeping it where it belongs, and winning. You can disagree if you like, pat him on the back for all he has done for WNY, but I see it differently. -
The last time Fisher wasn't a HC

The curse of Jeff Fischer has been lifted. -
I would be in for taking up a collection to pay the Rogers group back a pro-rated amount of money for the remaining games scheduled to be played in the Rogers center. It has been suck a black eye to the team, and embarrassment to the city, and completely put the franchise at a disadvantage. These are clearly not home games, and the team has to play each season with a handicap. I can't possibly see what this fiasco has accomplished. Given the state of the team over the past decade, I would say old Ralphie-poo has not had much to complain about regarding selling seats to WNY. In fact(I don't have the stats) I'd be willing to bet our attendance numbers are one of the highest in the league(not that percentage filled stat, we have a very large stadium). I seems a little pointless to try and engage Canadian businesses for advertising exposure if that was the reason, since these companies don't do business(on the whole) in the US. This has been a giant middle finger right in the face to all the die-hard Bills fans, and I'd love to see it go away, so lets take up a collection so we can get our home games back.

The more exposure I get of Chan Gailey with respect to his ability to coach QBs and strategize offensively, The more impressed i get with him as a coach. Does that mean i am certain he will guide the team to a world championship because of his abilities? Probably not, but it won't be due to his abilities as a coach. You can only do so much with the talent given, and unless this team gets really good and really deep in a lot of areas, it's not going to happen any time soon. But I do believe the team has a great head coach in him, and would love to see him here long enough to accomplish the quest of a title. I was one who wanted Shanny, didn't really think Bill Cowher was the answer, but had to clue Chan was even an option, and was very unsure of the hire. At best he seemed like a stop-gap for the next 3 years until we underwent another rebuilding. He really seems to know the game well, and I truly respect his opinion of upcoming college players. I never had that type of confidence in any other Bills head coach, and that's saying something, I have been around a while now, and seen quite a few of them. I would even go so far to say that if he were a coach on the Jests squad, there is no doubt Mark Sanchez would be much better than he is today. This is one case where the Bills went off the radar and got someone not many teams were considering, and actually scored. Now that the front office has added a well respected coach in Dave Wannstedt, it's time for Buddy Nix to infuse this team with talent and make WNY forget all about 1-5(SB Record) Bill Polian. Yes I love the guy, and yes his teams win a ton of games, which I would not be unhappy about, but he's gone, never to return, so it's now time to quit whining about it, and move on. It's funny how other teams can do it without Bill Polian as GM. But to summarize, this team may be sitting on one of the next great head coaches in Bills history, and deliver what WNY has always pined for. Now if our crotchety owner would just go ahead and Will the team to Jim Kelly, Buffalo would be all set and able to dream long term again. Buddy - Daft well, keep the talent rolling in, and spend Ralph's money, he has plenty. Ralph - sell the team to Jim Kelly, I am sure he'll keep you on as an executive, and give you the best luxury box in the stadium, plus all the Mighty Taco you can eat for life, and maybe a new tennis racket. Jim - Get your ass in gear and pile up the investors now. NY State government - Give WNY a break, you're bleeding it dry, I want to move back home already! Go Bills.

he had the best spike in the business, and by far the biggest impact to an offense for a wide receiver the league has ever seen, save for Jerry Rice.

just one wish... Cam Newton goes #1 overall to Carolina.

It all boils down to money and the team's current success whether or not free agents want to come here. Enough of the "Buffalo is a crappy place to live" garbage. Yes the economy isn't great but that doesn't apply to NFL players who aren't affected by it. If the biggest factor for players not wanting to play somewhere was the actual city, then lets look at where the NFL is currently that the cities are either cold places, or weak economies: Cincinnati - cold and slow economy Cleveland - cold and slow economy Pittsburgh - cold and slow economy Jacksonville - slow economy Green Bay - very cold and no economy Minnesota - very cold and very slow economy Detroit - very cold and, well, it's Detroit... Denver - cold and moderate economy These are just the ones I can confirm, but tell me how Buffalo AS A CITY is any different. Pay the players, and have a few decent seasons and this will no longer be an issue. It wears me out to hear so much of the city bashing.

How two 7-9 teams go in different directions
Homey D. Clown replied to Rob T from OP's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Forget the record for a minute and tell me this 2010 team was less exciting to watch than the 2009 version. With the exception of Bobby April's departure, the full house-cleaning was absolutely mandatory. You can't build a brick mansion on a sink hole. 2009 Bills - sink hole 2009 Bears - not a sink hole 2010 Bills 4-12 2010 Bears - 11-5 The Bears were a few good pieces away from making the playoffs, the Bills were an entire competent coaching staff and about 18 good pieces away from making the playoffs. This comparison isn't worth getting upset over, and inciting all the "Ralph is a cheap bastard" comments. We all know he is old and cheap, but this was comparing apples to dog ****. -
What happened to Ralph Wilson?
Homey D. Clown replied to seq004's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I couldn't agree more with this, Buffalo is not a ****-hole, contrary to popular opinion around here... and the small market nonsense is way overplayed. Owners share profits on so many different income points, it makes the small market arguement weak at best. The WNY area does have less corporations that can invest in luxury suites and some of the advertising, and that's a fact, but by no means would that prevent a team from fielding a winner. This debate boils down very simply to the owner not wanting to burden his family with debt, or very little profit once he passes, so in some cases, it is Ralph's fault, and in many others, it is poor front office decisions, but that can also be blamed on Ralph Wilson, since he will not pursue a top tier NFL front office, so as someone on here put it, BUST, BUST, BUST, and not the good kind. -
Are you rooting for the Jets or the Steelers?
