  1. Motel 6 sucks no matter what city you travel to. Maybe Brady should have ponied up the dough for Red Roof Inn or something, that douche.
  2. Absolutely the same reason for me, but I really wanted to see the Cardinals beat the steelers as well.
  3. In case anyone hasn't noticed, NYS government has not done the right thing when dealing with Buffalo and WNY for more than 50 years, what on earth makes anyone think for one second they'll start now? Have you walked down Main street in Buffalo on the 360 days there isn't a special event going on? Have you walked down any street on any day in Niagara Falls? Do you really think that wind bag is going to do anything good for Buffalo? His election hinges on the votes of largely populated areas of the state, and that's exactly where he will focus his attentions(Cuomo). Until real tax relief happens, and regionalization of local governments, and a plan to share the taxes across the state, don't expect Cuomo to be anything more than a blowhard who has zero intention to assist Buffalo in any way in it's efforts to keep it's beloved team. Sorry if I crapped in your salad this morning, but these, and other real issues are turning my home town into a desolate area, and it makes me sick.
  4. big and fast players are what this defense needs, he was neither.
  5. The real question is why would anyone care what he wrote?
  6. I actually agree with this whole heartedly.
  7. Giants and Patriots to the superbowl. I base this solely on which team's QBs have the potential to control the outcome of games, and nothing else.
  8. You can blame the ghost of Ralph Wilson....
  9. I was more implying that RW and company would run him out of town, sorry about that, but I do agree that we should run the ball more given the talent we have at the position, and hopefully we will see less of the wildcat, which I hate, along with the tampa2 on the other side of the ball.
  10. Honestly, if you execute your game plan very effectively, it really doesn't matter what aspect you favor. Look at the Patriots, they are a heavy pass first team. Both attack styles offer advantages and disadvantages, and can be troublesome when you get your dominant attack plan shut down. I don't totally agree that running the ball is what is best here, it just seems to be convenient to point out the one team that does it well in the playoffs as proof that our coach's plan isn't any good. To be fair to people around here, it's human nature to watch successful teams and judge their success against our team's shortcomings, and I'd love to see an offense that features Freddie and CJ, but these guys also have shown they can be equally as dangerous in the passing game, if not more. RBs in the passing game can create serious mis-matches, and that to me is a very sound game plan(See K-Gun). I love Chan Gailey's conviction, and when we run him out of town and he wins a championship somewhere else, I'll be pulling for him. I don't however think we should have kept any of the former coaches we set sail though, don't mistake me here, I think we finally have a very good head coach in Chan.
  11. I think it's more important for the team to focus on bringing in a top tier WR first. great players make average coaches look good, great coaches make poor players look good. I'd like to team to focus on getting some talent in here first, look at Indy, they literally had the team's bus driver as a head coach the last few years...
  12. How can you possibly disagree with what runthedamnball said ???
  13. My father, who has never seen this board, and has no ill feelings for any football player, nor does he even know who #31 for the 49ers for that matter, said out loud , "That #31 isn't very good, he's going to cost the 49ers the game" I don't hate ex players, but Donte Whitner looked terrible, I couldn't believe how out of position he was on nearly every play in the 2nd half. I was going to come onto this board this morning and start a thread to all those people who think that every player the bills let go is world class and we should have kept him. Parting ways with Whitner was exactly what the Bills needed to do, he almost cost the 49ers the game, and did so countless times for the Bills. P.S. Mcgahee looked pedestrian as well, and the point that they are in the playoffs is beyond irrelevant. in fact, my short list of eternally happy they are departed from our roster are as follows: 1. Mcgahee 2. Marshawn Lynch 3. Donte Whitner All time list folks....all. time. list. This is not hate towards whitner, I was just tired of how bad he actually was. The other 2 are barely average players who marginally fill roster spots.
  14. Dead wrong. Marshawn was and is an average back on his way out, or at the very least one strike away from sitting an entire season. No matter how much people want to bury their heads in the sand, Freddie is north of 30 years old. Past that the team had nothing, and even so hasn't had an elite running back on the team since Thurman left. Spiller has the potential to be a game changing back, the team has not had any players on the team you could say that about, not even close for more than 10 years. If you're a new GM, you pick player that can be explosive, that's what Nix did, yet people still want to criticize him for doing it. Sad really. You can't fault Spiller for having to wait his turn in light of Freddie's amazing play, and when it's his time to play, it's very clear CJ will perform, but for some it doesn't matter how well, they just want to make excuses why the team didn't need him.
  15. the league could care less whether or not you get to see the game, they just care about the money made from the networks. Ticket revenue is such a small part of a team's profits.
  16. Capital letters indicate a tone of yelling.... Also, LOL means laughing out loud. the interwebz is fun.
  17. I have been preaching this to deaf ears for 2 years now, I said from the beginning this guy will be a very good player, and I would take him over marshawn lynch any day, 3 times over. I was extremely relieved when the pick was made, I knew it spelled the end of least mode.
  18. I still wouldn't want him here as a coach, I find the Tampa2 defense a highly suspect scheme, even when you do have talented players running it, which, in case anyone hasn't noticed, was not present when it was run here. I loved Wade's defense however.
  19. After seeing Mission Impossible this past week, I am convinced he's really Jerry Springer in disguise. again, it should surprise no one that his rhetoric is written to incite negative reactions. Everything is geared towards how bad the Bills are for ridding themselves of said player, coach, piece of equipment, you name it. These types of articles are written from a revisionist historical perspective. We all know these coaches/players, ETC didn't perform well while they were here, but it's a lot more controversial to point out when these departed people do well, that the Bills organization is diabolically flawed for dumping them. If you must read his bone-headed garbage, read it simply to get a laugh, and marvel in the fact that the Buffalo News organization employs such a low grade journalist that writes articles that barely qualify as bad blog fodder.
  20. This is not a propaganda thread but more my feelings about him as a head coach, and how simply winning games affects how he is viewed. I personally think he has done very well with regards to getting the most out of players, putting together the right people on offense, especially the offensive line, and generally making it very well known that you either perform, or you sit. at 21-0 and the team rolling, I was very impressed with his conviction in sitting Stevie Johnson for taking yet another idiotic celebration penalty. The guy is not perfect, but it took a lot of guts to do that. It's easy to question the offensive playcalling when you're losing, but if you look at the saints, the Packers, or even the paytiolets, the Bills attack was on par with creativity, and aggressiveness. When the game-plan is not executed according to the drawing, it's easy to say how his approach was too pass-happy, but if the team went 11-5 it wouldn't even be a discussion. I was also on board with dumping malcontent marshawn lynch, and sending Lee evans out to pasture. He's going to coach the team and it's players the way he sees fit, and this franchise has not had that in years. While some of the blame has to fall on the coaches shoulders for some of the poor play, i don't think running this coach out of town is remotely the answer, and would be one of the dumbest moves the team could make in recent years. For now, I am hoping the team stays the course, i think the ship is headed in the right direction, and with some depth and stronger defensive play, I think a corner can be turned. Constant turnover and rebuilding can't be good for any players, but I do think Chan is the right guy for the job, and if his players deliver, and they actually field a defense next year, we just might see the team become very relevant again.
  21. that stat says a lot about how important Thurman Thomas was to this team. Andre Reed was the go-to guy in a very balanced attack, and his numbers while very respectable were never league leading. That's something the HOF should take into consideration when looking at him as a candidate. Singe season achievements for individuals in a team sport shouldn't be the only thing they look at.
  22. I was being speculative on how a young player might take a signing like this, I was in no way suggesting the Bills were going to look at Clowney as a replacement, but no matter how much this guy is not the same type of player as Johnson, in my opinion of course, I still think it has to send a message to a guy in contract talks that the team is bringing in other talent, especially when they sign another player a few days after the season's end. To me it's clearly a psychological move. I'd rather engage a fellow board member with an intelligent discussion over the possibility this was a head game signing rather than the latter, and I was being serious, but my reply to you was sarcasm, light-hearted, but sarcasm none the less.
