All it takes is to win a superbowl, and he'll be a big name. Or just perform at a high level for that matter. Just because we didn't acquire him in a fancy or flashy way doesn't change anything, so it's really all about what happens on the field. Freddie jackson was acquired in the most nondescript way possible, and I'd say he's a big name right now.

Spiller a "Changed Man" Says Fitz
Homey D. Clown replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd rather have a guy come into his own as a running back in this league going into his 3rd year rather than beginning a production slide, a-la lynch and some other players with high expectations across the NFL. -
Parcells Loves Freddy!!
Homey D. Clown replied to Never NEVER Give-up's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love the backs we have currently on this team, and hope Fred and CJ can repeat what they started last year. I'd hate to lose either one. Fred is a stand up guy, and a player that just inspires others with his determination. because of the road he has taken to get to where he is now in life and the NFL, there isn't a player more deserving of a championship in the NFL, and may not be for years to come. Go Freddie, and let the rest of the league take notice, " You will not Catch22! " Go Bills! -
ESPN AFC Breakout players
Homey D. Clown replied to buffaloaggie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not as a sarcastic retort, but what would Stevie have to do to have a breakout year statistically speaking? And honestly, if it's something better than his really good production do we as Bills fans expect a ton more? -
Patriots Release Ochocinco
Homey D. Clown replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gotta love TSW on a monday morning.... some team parts with dead weight, and the "sign him now" patrol is in full swing... and I've only had one sip of my coffee... so entertaining. Yeah... let's not develop our young talent, and give a washed up big mouth team corrupter a roster spot... oops here I go thinking rationally again... I mean... F-Yeah!!! Championship! -
Nothing they do this year could be worse than how they played last year, so i have absolutely zero concern for this upcoming season on defense. Add to the fact that some of the guys are talking about dropping 5 - 15 lbs of weight is hardly going to transform them into Phil Hansen and Jeff Wright.

Toronto Series Extension

I do believe if you read through my original post, and following posts, you would find plenty of proof, NFL profit-sharing.... etc? You know, those cold hard facts you are blindly ignoring? But since you have bought into the fear-based BS that says the area can't support the team financially, you have been easily swayed into believing this will help keep the team in WNY. So, once all fans accept that their area can't afford the team any longer, there will be less pushback and backlash when they do pull the trucks out of Orchard Park. So keep drinking the cool-aid Russ Brandon is force feeding you, and get a front row seat ready to watch the moving trucks in the near future. I am not blind to the REAL facts, like WNY's population, the team's almost non existent operating costs when it comes to state based funding to maintain the stadium, and until just recently, one of the highest attendance metrics measured at the turnstyle, and please, PLEASE explain this toronto abomination to me, with facts, actual FACTS, that the team NEEDS to play a game in Toronto for anything OTHER than prepping that market for an NFL franchise. I am all ears... and let's not use the Mario Williams signing as a benefit to this garbage series, because the Bills as a franchise are not in the bottom half of the league when it comes to actual revenue, so that could have happened 3 times over. -
You couldn't be more wrong. This team had zero elite talent at RB at the time, we all loved Fred at that time, but didn't foresee the player he emerged as last season, and love him or hate him Lynch was and still is average at best, and wanted out of Buffalo like his @ss was on fire. So add into the mix that this team had another goose egg in the Pro Bowlers column, and I still don't get how anyone thinks the team didn't need a guy like Spiller. He's already showing his talents, and if he progresses, will probably end his career as a top tier RB. People tend to forget it took OJ 3 years before running for 1000 yards as well, but to say the FO made a bad pick is just argumentative for the sake of argument. Yes the team had holes to fill elsewhere as well, but that also included RB, and you only get one pick. After the team went through picking the biggest bust in it's 50+ year existence the year before, I can see how CJ will probably be more scrutinized than other 1st round picks, but to say that it was a terrible pick is just just not even close to true.

Miami #1, Cowboys #2, then everyone else equally. If your too young to know why Buffalo's diabolical archenemy will always be the Dolphins, a team that was a thorn in our sides for 3 solid decades,m then you need to do some internet reading, and you will change your mind quickly. Why hate the Patriots, because they're good and have a good owner? In my opinion that doesn't qualify for a rival, they just have been better owned and managed in recent years. The Dolphins went on a whole different level, and transcended the football field. I won't do the research for you, but look into the player comments in the late 80's and early 90's, the clayton bashing of Andre Reed, or Bryan Cocks just being a douche bag, or Don Shula controlling the referees..... Aaaahh the good 'ol days.

Toronto Series Extension

There is no evidence or proof that Western NY cannot support the team financially, you have bought into the smoke and mirror job force fed to you by Russ Brandon. If you read my points about NFL profit sharing, this team could be profitable anywhere, but I am all ears if someone could explain it to me in a way that makes this abomination make any sense. If you just quit fooling yourself into thinking this is supposed to help the Bills stay in Buffalo for one second, you'd clearly see this whole Bills in Toronto joke is a primer to get THAT city ready for a team. It's not the Buffalo Bills/Toronto Series, it's the Bills/Toronto series for a reason. I'm sure there are tons of people who will ignore the facts and disagree with me, but thats really what this is all about. -
Toronto Series Extension
Homey D. Clown replied to Homey D. Clown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't imagine how the management of this team continues to turn it's back on the city and state that has poured it's heart, soul, and money into it for over 50 years. What a nauseating bit of news, not that it wasn't expected. -
I know your not new here, so what else would you expect from the peanut gallery...

Toronto Series Extension
Homey D. Clown replied to Homey D. Clown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Please explain how this series keeps the Bills in Buffalo. All teams have a stake in the network television contract, also receive a percentage or earnings from large market teams, along with all merchandise and licensing profits made by official NFL licensed products, which they split. that means ALL merchandise sold, not just Bills jerseys, but all jerseys, all hats, coffee mugs...etc sold on NFL licensed retailers is split among all teams. Luxury suite sales are a very small percentage of what makes up the profits of an NFL franchise, so that can be ruled out. Add to the income potential of stadium naming rights, which most teams partake in(you guessed it, Ralphie Poo doesn't), and stadium upgrades which Ralphie Poo pushes off to the state, and I'll ask again, How is this team not able to compete financially? The answer you'd be looking for is they can and make more money than half of the league, but yes.... we need the Toronto series to "Be competitive" People who think this team needs to play games in Toronto have been fooled by thinking it actually helps keep the Bills in Buffalo. It actually is doing the exact opposite, it's proving the NFL's viability in Toronto, and I don't care how you try to rationalize it, is just not good in any way. Bills fans and the city of Buffalo are truly getting Jobbed on this deal, and the best part about it is people actually think it's helping. So if you think this is about revenue, and not grooming the team to move, try not to get too much sand up your nose. LA, Toronto, Saskatchewan, I don't really care where they try to move the team, if they no longer play for the city of Buffalo, I could care less how far from WNY they move, the team will simply cease to exist for me. -
I will never see this as anything but a black eye to this once proud franchise, it is a collossal embarrassment to Bills fans and the city of Buffalo, and handicaps the franchise to have to play 9 away games a year. You want to grow your fan base in toronto? How about some travel packages and selling some luxury suites to Toronto based businesses? I really hope the next owner of this team scraps this abomination of an idea, if you want to move the team just do it already, don't lie to die hard fans telling them it's to increase fan base, I'd say we're all smarter than that.

Seeing is bill-ieving - reality check
Homey D. Clown replied to SouthernMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No need to play out the season then, it seems you have it already figured out. Everything you mentioned here points to an 8-10 win season, that I agree with, and if it's 10 wins, then you made a strong case for fans to be excited, so I'm not sure what point you were trying to make in all seriousness. Just looking at what has been added to the roster in the last few off-seasons, I'd say it would be pretty hard to do any better, and you can't fill every hole with one draft. What would you not have fixed, or what move would you have sacrificed in order to repair the deficiencies in your list? When there are 15 holes in the dam and you only have 10 fingers, you plug the ones you can, and that's the reality of what the front office has been dealt. -

Fan poll, predict the season 2012
Homey D. Clown replied to thewildrabbit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think 10-6 is very possible given how well they were capable of playing last year before injuries hit, and the team has definitely improved on paper this year, so I hope they stay healthy and exceed my prediction. -
In case anyone missed my last comments, I'd like to also add that I currently reside in Nashville, and not only are my friends sending me their condolences should the Bills sign this guy, a few have even greeted me with some laughter, and today a card was left on my chair that read in printed ink: " sorry for your loss" and inside they wrote 2012 will be sorely missed, and we hope you and your family will find peace Now the card was pretty funny I'll be the first to admit, but regardless of his winning percentage, people around here did not like the guy, and for good reason. The general consensus is a selfish, immature player that simply does not grasp the concept of team offense. Hard to argue, I truly hope this guy does not end up in a Bill Uni... let someone else try to get blood from this turnip.

I am quietly confident he might really contribute to this team, we literally have nothing to lose as a team to see if he might be another "SJ" type of gem. I really like what little I saw of him last preseason. I think the biggest vote of confidence is the lack of top 10-15 WRs the bills seemed to be interested in, and only had 2 prospects in to work out for them officially, so I hope this is a precursor to Marcus, and others on the team that have gotten healthy.

Grade Past Years drafts 2005-2009
Homey D. Clown replied to FrankReichComeback's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not for San Fran either. If anyone watched the playoff games, Whitner's play could have easily cost them the game against the Saints, and he was beaten so badly by the Giants receivers on a regular basis that I found it amazing he didn't get pulled. Let's not make chumps into champs so people can question the front office. I'll mention 3 that circulate around here that have somehow convinced people they are good. In order of how bad they really are: 1. Aaron Maybin - he is a pathetic joke, and if you watch his laughable 6 sacks, he was ridiculously out of position, and actually sucks so bad you can hear it from here. The Jests picked a Project situational pass rusher in this years draft, 'nuff said. 2. Donte Whitner - Sub par, less than average talent that was lucky enough to play for the best defense in the league, where his miserable deficiencies could be masked, well... until the playoffs, then it was clear he needs to be replaced. 3. Marshawn Lynch - Whoopdie Frickin Doo, he had a great run in the playoffs, where several people had multiple shots at him. 3.9 Career YPG average, VERY happy "Least Mode" is gone. If the Bills didn't waste a pick on this chump, we might have enjoyed a few more years of Fast Freddie. So in response to the crayonz comment, the only FAIL is that these lameass players seem to be better when they are gone, but in reality will never be the piece of a championship puzzle, and had much more down side than any benefit to any roster... well all except Maybin, I still contend there is zero upside, and he stands to be the biggest bust in Bills history. If you didn't think so after the Bears pre-season game last year, just go watch some of his Jests low-lights. so lets all look to the future and who IS here now, and I like whats going on with the current staff. Spiller is proving to be a very good pick, and one the team will need post Freddie, Dareus is the real deal, and Gilmore looks to be another great 1st round pick. When in Bills history could we have said that 3 years in a row? Very excited about this upcoming season if we stay healthy. Go BILLS!!!!
