Or.... Maybe, juuuust maybe the Bills cut their losses with Lee Evans because he is no longer able to play at a starting level, run any routes other than a go route, get enough separation from defenders, or make plays that would extend drives. Since he has done so much since leaving Buffalo, it couldn't possibly have been that stuff...

Penn State sanctions handed down
Homey D. Clown replied to ACor58's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. If an employee was doing something illegal where you work, would it be fair to shut the whole place down? No. If your manager knew about the activities but chose to look the other way, would you expect your boss to get fired? Hell yes. Let the courts punish the guilty, and the NCAA rule on NCAA violations. The courts will bring to justice those that were guilty. Hopefully in time the victims families and of those hurt the most benefit from the courts, and not from some NCAA decision. Joe paterno would have probably gone to jail for not taking action, but that's a legal issue, and the courts to decide. Thats just how I feel about the whole thing. -
FWIW, teams with players over the age of 30
Homey D. Clown replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I honestly think this is more true than most people think. Training camp will tell the tale, but if he doesn't grasp the offense(Vince Young), then there is little chance he makes the team. I wouldn't be sad if he doesn't. -
Last year it was our lack.of WR's.....
Homey D. Clown replied to Ramblin' Rob's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do see this from time to time, but what's a Prolly? Is it short for something? If so do people know that in these new-fangled forum type thingies that you can type full words, since you're more than likely not driving down the interstate, trying to get a message in before a cop notices you're texting, or that you get more than 143 characters per post? Or does Prolly in fact want a cracker? Good times.... I like these "Deep thoughts from Jack Handy" type threads, such a break from the usual "I hate the Spiller pick" "Ralph is cheap" "Fitz sucks/is great" threads... -
What would you do if.....

run for cover to hide from the Baby Grand Piano rainstorm outside, the frog and locusts storms that followed. Then get a weather report for hell to see if it was snowing.... -
I like that he's cheap about the blackouts... More than 1 million WNY residents and they can't find 70,000 people to sit in the "Ralph" for 7 home games? In this case Ralph is Cheap, and I like it

Hating the Spiller pick at any time, hindsight or not has no merit. the old "we had holes to fill across board" logic is ridiculous at best. If the Bills didn't pick him, he'd be lighting it up somewhere else, and then the front office would be getting slammed for not taking the guy. We had a hole to fill at RB, Spiller was the best player on the board, and we filled it. No Marshawn was not filling that need, he was not even averaging 4 yards a carry at that time, and Freddie had not exploded onto the scene yet, not to mention there were no elite, impact/game changing or pro bowl caliber player on the roster at that time. So with that said, and what were are learning about Spiller as he is developing into a great pick, what reason other than Blind hatred do you have for not liking the pick? What other player picked in the top 20 would you have selected? Exactly... none. It's funny how a thread about Marshawn can spin into an "I hate the Spiller pick" conversation, if you can't like the guy now, what would it take? a Hall of fame career to finally sway you?

no doubt... Like him or not, that was a great run to watch. I loved how it looked like some of the defensive players had several shots at him and still missed.

I am interested in the unknowns about this guy, and will be watching the battle for the #2 slot closely, but I think a lot of people take Donald Jones for granted, he must have more talent than we have seen given his unfortunate ankle injuries last year. And let's not forget Marcus Easley. Just because he hasn't played a regular season game yet, he has shown some serious talent in a very limited amount of evaluation time, and it has been said by many who have seen him practice that he is by far the most athletically talented player on the field. I honestly want to keep all 3 of these guys, and hate to see the Bills lose any of the players I have mentioned. Nevermind the overachieving Roosevelt, this will be one of the toughest decisions for the coaches to make by far. My guess would be this for the players kept as WR depth: 1. Stevie Johnson 2. Donald Jones 3. David Nelson (Although I like him, his production was sketchy last year) 4. Derek Hagan 5. Marcus Easley 6. TJ graham If they went to 7, I'd add Roosevelt to that list.

What is the BIGGEST LIE of the off season?
Homey D. Clown replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Easy schedule, VY won't even challenge for anything more than the #2 spot, the team does have some very talented receivers on the roster, There's no doubt the team has depth in many areas, more so than any time in the last 17 years by a wide margin, and lastly The patriots went to the Superbowl, haven't lost much in the offseason and have the right to be considered #1 until someone else proves otherwise. I voted for easy schedule. -
Better athlete yes, better player, by what standard? Ability to run a complicated offense, and lead a team? No.

Jets have been quiet
Homey D. Clown replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, It hasn't been all that quiet over there, I just think we're all noticing that the national media is getting tired of paying attention to their "look at us" coach and all the wind he blows, and the fact that they really haven't made any noteworthy moves. -
+1 -- It was just a matter of time, but I really was happy to see him go because he is an average back at best. I just wish we would have been feeding Fred the rock all this time instead.

What facts do you base this assumption on? have you done a financial study on the revenue that needs to be made on local luxury suite sales, along with season ticket, and single seat sales, coupled with local advertising above the NFL licensing, revenue sharing and television contract profit disbursement income, minus stadium operating costs? Or did you just read all the propaganda written and force fed to fans around here and the local media fueled by Russ Brandon? Last time I checked, the team really doesn't have a problem filling seats beyond what most other teams would consider capacity, and that they were ranked somewhere in the middle for profits, considering the team has been dreadful to watch the last decade, give or take a game here and there. I am all for expanding the fan base, it just makes good sense, but there is no real financial reason the team would ever need to be moved, other than to coerce another city into building a big new shiny vulgar stadium. I have been to Dallas' new stadium, and while it's nice to look at, I could honestly give 2 ***** about anything more than my view of the game. If you need pretty concourses, overpriced shops, and restaurants, then that place is for you. If you want a great talegating experience, excellent seating in a neat part of the southern tier, then I'd take the pile of concrete in Orchard park every time. I go to watch a football game, and the Ralph does that quite nicely... now if I could just take a piss without missing a third of the game, then I'd be in heaven.

Looks like blackout rule won't apply here
Homey D. Clown replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with the team's decision 100%. If the area wants to keep the team, and the product is good, they won't even have a problem with this. -
I have noticed that the Bills are in a lot of conversation on NFL network due to what we here and the media may see as really good offseason football moves, mixed with some very good talent and approachable athletes that have been performing well on and off the field in recent years. Such as Stevie Johnson, Fred Jackson, Nick Barnett and of course the new acquisitions. Several years ago, and I was one of them, it seemed like these football shows and networks wouldn't pay attention to our beloved team even if they were winning games, and had a few superstars on the roster, but I have to admit, it appears that while nobody is proclaiming us Superbowl winners just yet, the team is getting a lot of well deserved attention, and I think that should put to rest to some extent the sentiment that this team and city is generally hated or ignored by the rest of the country. Now I'm not saying the city's run down, abandoned image has been miraculously restored to it's former glory, I think from a football perspective, the Bills will get as much attention and respect as they earn. Who the hell did we even have that you would even want to put on your fantasy team prior to Fred Jackson? The team has been gut wrenchingly dreadful for years, and who would even want to report on a team that was hard to even look at with those Arena League uniforms. So Maybe....Juuuust Maybe... if the team plays well, they'll be more respected by the rest of the league, and the media that pays attention to this sport. I know there will be people who say they don't care what anyone else thinks, but in reality we do, I do, because we're from Buffalo, the perennial underdog, the once glorious city on the rise, and we all want the respect the team we love deserves. I do have to say if anyone saw Fred-Ex's new Camaro, named "The Red Hulk" it was bad ass, and the segment was cool to watch, especially the clips of him tearing up opponents on the field last year. Loved it! If they win, they'll get respect from the people that matter.

Unusually negative Tim Graham on PFT
Homey D. Clown replied to ndirish1978's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While a lot of us around here are excited for the upcoming season, I'm sure we all have a little hesitation, given the good starts the team has enjoyed in recent years with a complete unravel for each, and I also feel like the Sabres awful season has something to do with the tempered excitement sentiment from Tim as well. As far as the Fitzpatrick comments, I tend to agree with him slightly, since we have been down this road with JP and Trent having Turk Shonert.... But this is a new season, different players involved, and I'm taking a we'll see approach on that too. And as far as TJ Graham goes, we haven't had the best of luck with our WR draft picks, he(Tim) was not entirely wrong with his assessment on the drops, and I think that the team may already have more game ready talent on the roster, so TJ will have time to develop, and may not even be a factor this season. I'd be happy to see TJ flourish, but I am also a fan of Donald Jones and the rest of the goon squad if they can stay healthy, plus I also have that desire to see Easley make a splash, I just have a good feeling about the guy, like a lot of TSW members did about Stevie when we were all waiting for Hardy to not be a bust. I can see the OP's point a little, but I probably would have had similar comments in an interview too. -
Former WR Josh Reed Slams Buffalo
Homey D. Clown replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
what the hell does this have to do with anything? I was born and raised in Buffalo, went to school there, college there, attended my family's weddings and funerals there, and STILL have family ties there. I am very proud to be from Buffalo, and just because I had to take a job somewhere else because the State's political climate ran all the JOBS out of town doesn't mean I can't be offended by a douche bag like Josh Reed trying to make a public stink so he can be relevant.... -
I think at the very least he is one to watch this year beyond the new additions, and has the potential to have a pro bowl season. Who's to argue though that he shouldn't be considered a top 5 safety in the league if his solid play continues this year? If an over exposed clown like Whitner can be considered good for the 49ers, just think what Byrd can do now that he has a pass rush to assist him.

I wouldn't mind seeing the league add a new franchise in LA, I hate to see any team move anywhere, it makes the league and it's owners look greedy, and the profits are already ridiculous. On a side note, if any teams should move to LA, it makes perfect sense to see the LA Raiders, and the LA Chargers. Both teams could have a following in that city. Any other franchise move just really doesn't look good on paper. And as for the Bills, we will find out soon enough, and if they do move, even to Toronto, I won't be one that follows them as a fan. If they don't play in my home town, I could care less.
