  1. Nobody is going to put Buffalo ahead of other teams simply because of the new coaching staff AND QB situation... I'm actually cool with it. I think it says how bad does Jacksonville have to be to be placed lower than a team with question marks around every single skill position(running back excluded)??? Think about it, the team is ranked exactly where it should be at this point. I'd be more concerned if we were 5-2 heading into the midpoint of the season, and we were ranked 30th...
  2. could it be that they want to see they guy that they don't have 2 season's worth of footage on??? let's not get crazy here...
  3. I was born in Buffalo and lived most of my life there, if you go to Anchor Bar, do it only for the experience, not the wings, they are pretty awful, and I really wanted them not to be. Depending on where you are staying and how far you're willing to drive to get food, but you HAVE to have a Bozana's pizza, Mighty Taco, and mandatory would be Duffs. If you're anywhere near Williamsville on saturday, Bocce's pizza on Transit Road, (the REAL ONE) is also a can't miss affair. When I come home to visit, I have all 4 of those things without fail, then head to Wegman's to get my Rooties Bleu Cheese, and Bison chip dip, and 2 sticks of Margherita pepperoni, and lastly, Weber's mustard, enough to last me a few months. If you're going to be in the area, make sure you get these essential survival items, and you'll be fine. If Italian Sausage is something you love, Johnny's market on Hertel Ave in North Buffalo will become another Can't miss item. Best Italian sausage hands down.
  4. There's no doubt Mario has to be productive this year, so it's not like he's sitting back collecting on a long, locked in contract. I think he can be great, but I'd like to think if he becomes average at best, Whaley should have the good sense to restructure his contract at the very least...
  5. I lived that dream.... it's just as painful as "Wide Right"
  6. Amazingly accurate! I was bracing myself for another media stunt
  7. yawn... the guy just needs to perform on Sundays, if he wants to sit out practice, I think it's safe to say we've all seen that before....
  8. He'll have his shot to make an impact, I have very low expectations for him, but I'd be happy to be pleasantly surprised if he plays strong.
  9. I have used: Titsburgh Feelers N.England Paytiolets
  10. WHEW!!!! glad you said that, i was worried for a minute there...
  11. I love it even more now....
  12. I would have enjoyed your Mr. Rogers avatar.
  13. He is a total douche, and not because of what you are pointing out, I have about as much respect for his opinion as I do Jerry Sullivan. He's a pot stirrer, and has very little to add to a story, I'd rather read an article from a real journalist, or watch a sports story presented by an actual intelligent broadcaster, and apparently they are becoming harder to find.
  14. Well put... agreed.
  15. Damon Wayans has always been one of my all time favorite comedians, and I always loved the character he portrayed as Homey. Then recently a statement was made in an interview to a reporter "That's a clown question bro" and it all just came together for me in a perfect storm...
  16. Defensively I totally agree with Leodis McKelvin, and I'll toss in Kyle Williams. For the cornerback position the glaring need for someone to step up is painfully obvious, but for Williams, I think if everyone wants to claim him to be as good as he is, then he needs to be a factor in stopping the run. For a team that has given up as many yards as the Bills have, I think it's time Williams shows how good he is perceived.
  17. I have been debating this with a few co-workers for a while now, and I went back and forth between Stevie Johnson, CJ Spiller, and Freddie, and ultimately I decided to go with Stevie as the key to the 2013 season on offense. The basis for my point of view is how well does he manage having a new QB throwing to him, whether it's a rookie, or Kolb. For a good 3rd of the season, he may very well be the only receiver on the field with game experience enough to be a factor for a new QB, plus, he will have to shoulder the load of helping the new rookie WR talent along as well. Now I'm not suggesting that if he doesn't catch 60-80 balls for 1000+ yards, and 7-12 TDs then he failed the team, I am merely suggesting that it's what he will provide as a leader on offense to a slew of new young talent and new faces that will really determine the flow of the offense, if only for a portion of the season. I'd love for this thread to be about who you think will be the key to the Bills success, offense or defense this season... Who's yours?
  18. The bottom line with these guys (Naaman and Donald) are that they were not consistent enough to be real producers. Getting open and creating a spot for the QB to throw to was not something they provided on a regular basis, so the team moved on. the fact that nobody really jumped on either player after they were released says something. Good luck to Naaman though, it would be nice to see him make a few plays for the Browns.
  19. With all the talent this team has had in recent years, it's mind boggling how 7-9 is as good as it's been...
  20. These overly inflated free agent signings will probably not occur as much as in recent years due to teams getting burned on a regular basis. Bell, Posluzny, and Whitner are recent departures that teams have received very little from, and that has to have an impact somehow.
  21. I think I'd be less surprised if Trent Edwards in a Philly jersey was on that list... but ryan Tannehill.... just, wow.
  22. I think it's good he trying something else other than his current job of hack sports writer, maybe the Buffalo News just might wise up and rid their sports department of that bum.
