With The Hulk the Bills can improve their rush defense by 30 yards per game but...... still be at or near the bottom of the league. Does that mean they made a major improvement or not?

Spiller on Prisco's list of 20 Breakout players of 2011
jumbalaya replied to bills44's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe he is not very good. Maybe he will be good but is earning. If its the latter, the lockout hurts his chances of doing much more than he did last year which was ride the pine. If its the former, he will be CJ Splitter. -
to paraphrase a politician...comparing Reich to Kelly I knew Jim Kelly, I watched with Jim Kelly, Frank Reich is no Jim Kelly.....

Jasper will be ride the practice squad bus for two years and then will be out of football. To think he will be breathing down anybody's neck is overly optimistic.

Dez Bryant making a Dallas mall appearance
jumbalaya replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ray Lewis did say crime will spike. Ray assumed it was bored fans doing the crime while we all know a bored Dez will be doing time. This truly is letting the fox into the hen house. -
No kidding.

Young's starting record is 33-17 or something like that. He is an obvious head case. Chances are, Fitz does not last half a season. If Chan can fix VY's head and VY produces as he has inthe past, we just solved our long term QB issue. We should not be afraid to get the best QB out there. We blew it with Michael Vick, let's not do it again.

Their pendulum is going up ours hasn't stopped its downswing yet.

Former Bill Jerry Butler...
jumbalaya replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If it weren't for his injuries his name would be on the wall and he'd be pushing Andre for a spot in the Hall. I remember his last TD catch when he broke his leg, a thing of beauty but how tragic. Guy had speed, great hands, great feet, played hard every game. And he didn't have any great QB's throwing him the ball either but he always made plays. -
Former Bill Jerry Butler...

Lee Evans could not hold Jerry Butler's jock. -
We should hope that is White is good on special teams. He is only cannon fodder.

Why Ralph Sold 30% Of The Bills In 2010...
jumbalaya replied to BiggieScooby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was Jerry Jones. -
People from Chicago laughed when they heard we hired DJ, they knew first hand what a joke of a head coach he was. Ralph knew too, but he let Marv convince him. Pitiful on several fronts.

BREAKING NEWS: progress in lock-out
jumbalaya replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why does this come top mind? ""We finally really did it. You maniacs! You blew it up! Damn you. God damn you all to hell!" Charlton Heston, Planet of the Apes. 1968 -
Just like the recent McNabb thread calling him over-rated and simply a product of a system etc, Drew was one of the best QBs in the league for a number of years. However many marginalize, deride and criticize them once their skills began to diminish due to age and injury. Heck few can last like Warren Spahn and Nolan Ryan and keep their skills late into a career especially in football. Remember when everyone was freakin thrilled out of the skulls when we signed Drew and then Lawyer Milloy? Drew and Donovan are the same professionals that they were early and later in their careers and neither ever quit on their team. Athletes do not deserve the personal derision that so many voice once they begin to fade. Now I have been one of the more vocal critics of Lee Evans, not because Lee's skills faded as I believe that he still has the skills, I just believe that he quit once he signed his big deal. Big difference between Lee versus Drew & Donovan.

So you say that you don't know that it happened and ask why it's not plausible. Then you build a theoretical case trying to prove your thesis with no actual proof. Sounds like you are building a conspiracy theory like ..bin Laden has been dead for 8 years; Obama's family planted the notice in the Hawaii papers after he was born in Kenya; Johnson had Kennedy shot; we never landed on the moon; Obama is a Muslim even though he says he is a Christian; did Monica Lewinski swallow the evidence?

Fly to Buffalo, stay a nite at the Falls or Niagara on the Lake, bring a passport and your drinking shoes and lots of singles for the ballet.

McNabb had a great career with a lot of very good years. Why do people dump on someone once the years and injuries start taking their toll. As I recall, Kelly was a shadow of himself his last two years. If y'all play fantasy football McNabb was a top five / top ten pick for a number of years. For several years he was the first QB picked. Now you may want to knock a fantasy football comparison but it is an accurate measurement of how effective the guy was getting into the end zone either by passing or running. To say he is overrated is inaccurate, to say he was dynamic is very accurate. To disqualify his accomplishments as a product of a system is doing the man a severe injustice.
-
It is an idiotic comment that he is an average player and a product of the system. Using your baseless theory, Joe Montana is an average QB and the product of Bill Walsh's system. And as for sucking in big games look no further than jim Kelly before throwing stones.

Is it just me or is Buddy having a great time?
jumbalaya replied to Mark Long Beach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For all of our sakes we have to hope he points the Titanic in a new direction otherwise we are going to be adding him and Chan to the list above. -
Yeah these dumbas commentators demean crappy teams and praise good ones. Who do they think they are picking on the Bills...

Now that we may have a defensive line in front of them, the linebackers could practice running forward.
