Most surprising thing to me was Colin Brown making the squad. Quite frankly I never heard of him. I don't think anyone on the board has slammed him all preseason. Did he even play? The OL is terribly thin and Brown as part of the depth just helps prove how weak this group is. Pears, Levitre and Wood have started at least 20 games each. Bell, Urbik, Rhinehart, Brown & Hairston are hardly worth mentioning and none would make any roster in the AFC East with the possible exception of Hairston and that is only because he is a rookie and we don't know how bad he is yet. This offense will be pathetic, many will blame that not having Lee is the reason, but the truth is that there is no offensive line. Lee may do better for a little while in Baltimore but once he gets his bell rung he will go into hiding again. My take is we are well on our way to another dismal season and the offense will be putrid because of these 8 guys. What happens if Wood goes down for the season again? Can't even think about it.

If we had kept Joique we would not have had to waste a 5th round pick on White. White looks pedestrian. Instead we could have wasted our 5th round pick on someone else that won't contribute.

This team is weak. Another year of bad football is in store.

I am not sold on Easley or Jones yet. But 4 catches for 36 yards per game and a TD every four games easily replaces Evans. Evans sucked sorry not a lot of people agree but look at his production. He sucked.

The Dolphins, Jets and Pats all have defenses that are better than ours. Our pass defense will be exposed this year as teams will pass more as our run defense should be better. The Dolphins, Jets and Pats all have offenses better than ours. Henne and Sanchez will make major improvements. Henne because he is getting better, Sanchez because he has more weapons. I think the Pats will be an improved team. We will be a better team but still may win one game in the AFC East.

Our oline did okay versus Jax after extremely poor play versus Denver. Maybe the poor play of the o-line versus Denver had more to do with Von Miller than anything else. This guy is looking like the next LT. We may regret that he did not fall to us one day. Although if we had the option to pick either Miller or Dareus, on draft day we needed Dareus more.

I once mentioned to a former Bill, and current NFL coach, about how Freddy compares to Thurman. He said Freddy was good but just did not have Thurman's speed.

Smith was a great player at Mizzou and is a great weapon in the pro's. He also has outstanding character. I think the reason the Bills were able to land him is the Christian angle with Gailey. Smith is a very sincere, very devout Christian. IMO Rex Ryan doesn't seem like a very devout Christian, unless foot fetishism is a secret Christian rite I have not heard about, and Ryan's arrogance was one of the reasons Smith left the Jets. So for one of the few times we did well in FA recently, we were able to land a very good player because he is Christian, rather than settling for below average, very devout Christian free agents. The very good but not very devout free agents elect to sign with programs dedicated to winning, not dedicated to a superstitious Deity or an arrogant attitude that only devout christian players have character. Which seems more and more like the Bills standard for signing a player. And what gets me about the Christians, they actually think God gives a crap about who wins football games or cares about football players. I tend to doubt it. Seems to me they are probably guilty of the sins of Pride and Arrogance. Unless... All the teams we play are better than us except Cincinnati. But we play them on the road and they win one at home.
