Play McKelvin, his returns have to be giving him confidence that he can play in the league. Maybe his light is fluorescent and it just takes that much longer to brighten.

I have no problem with them moving the ball at the end of the half. 3 points or more would have been a big lift. I have two problems with what went on after the fumble. 1. Scott Chandler's face and body language said it all. On the sidelines he looked beaten, completely done. Good players, players with heart, are yelling, encouraging the defense get the ball back and pick him up. Scott was looking for the bus to pick him up. He knew he lost the game on that play and he and the rest of the players simply quit. 2. Our defensive coverage is so poor I can't even describe the scheme. It is sure not man to man. If it is a zone, it's a type of zone that is played like -- Don't get close to the receiver, give him three, four, five yards, wait and watch the ball get to the receiver's hands and then try to close and make the tackle.

Is F Jax past his prime? I hope not, but a few things to note. This year in 3 games he has had one run more than 10 yards (11 yards) - 2 complete games and one when he was injured in the first quarter. Overall he has less than 3 yards per carry. Gailey has not been able to put a game plan together that successfully utilizes both Spiller & Jackson in the same time backfield nor has Gailey had a successful offense when he switches the players in and out. CJ's best games were when Freddy was not on the field. This year when they are both on the field, neither have been effective. Actually that goes back to last year, when Freddy knew he was number one he was a monster, CJ performed well only after Freddy went out. CJ has never performed well when he is splitting carries with Freddy. Neither play very well when they are both healthy. I think its hard for a back to get the feel for a game when he is in and out all the time. Maybe Gailey should simply name one of them the #1 back and switch on and off on a game by game depending on which back has a more favorable matchup against a particular offense. Of course the QB play and game plans sure aren't helping at all.

Official Bills at 49ers Game Thread
jumbalaya replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here is how I look at that game. First I stick a fork in my left eye as its less painful than watching these guys who pretend they are pro football team. The unfortunate thing is that I still have my right eye and it is drawn back to the TV. So I take a steak knife and shove it high and tight in the right eye and pull down. The problem now is that the game is still on the television and now my other sensory organs make up for the loss my eyesight. The first thing that has to go is my hearing; I take two steel pointed shish kebob skewers and force them deep into each ear until my hearing pressure mounting simply pops; now I only hear or think I hear is the sound of the ocean. However, my body now senses the pounding the team is taking, don't ask me how, I can't hear it, I can't see it but somehow I can feel it. It's a relentless drum drum drumming of touchdown after touchdown, one inept Bills play after the other. How can this get repeated over and over again. How can SF gain over 600 yards on offense, 600 freaking yards. There is only one thing to put me completely out of my misery. Yes, Mr Jack Daniels, one quart, one swig, all of it down the pipe.. God bless. -
Stevie would be a very good number 2 on most teams. He is not a number 1. He is not a game breaker.

From Tim Graham chat: Mario owns the locker room
jumbalaya replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mario Williams is nothing like Barry Bonds. You have no clue as to what you are talking about. No group of fans anywhere jumps on and off a player's bandwagon faster than this group. We have run more good players out of town than are on the team. -
Words Gailey will say again

Who wants to coach a team in a city that has a losing attitude? The City of Bufflalo learned to lose and accepts it. -
my thought on mario, mark, kyle, marcel, kelsay, johnson and carrington.... they are all talented players that don't take plays off. so if its a big game either at the Jets or at home and they get destroyed it was because they were out-coached, in a flawed defensive design, and under-prepared. its about time our defensive coaching was up to nfl standards.

We played two AFC East opponents and nailed up 28 points on both of them. Why is everyone worried? We are in great shape.

I am officially adding Ryan Fitzpatrick to the Lee Evans "Drop off the key, Lee and set yourself free" Club. Sign the big contract and then tank the rest of your career. Since Ryan was extended, obviously way too early from the results, his performance has been putrid. On the watch list to join this infamous club are two fan favorites Stevie Johnson and Freddy Jackson. Freddie has been less than mediocre in the two games he has played since he was extended while Stevie has been missing completely. Freddie had the injury as an excuse but we have yet to see one big play. Stevie has two excuses (1) the other receivers and his QB stink and (2) Fitz can't throw more than ten yards. As I said they are on the watch list, it will be interesting to see which way they go.

We were simply out coached. First while having Freddy and CJ were big from an emotional standpoint, hHoice should have been the featured back today with both Freddy and CJ seeing only spot duty. The Bills should have planned on a power running game with Choice and McIntyre all day long. To air it out against the Pats and expect Fitz' arm to carry this team is a huge mistake. Wrong game plan for against the Pats, just plain stupid. On defense Wanny should get the boot tomorrow. Not to have the defense prepared is absurd.

Jay Cutler = Jeff George

My take is that the Cowboys were sniffing at Powell and the Bills would not take the chance of losing him. So Jones forced us to make this move.

I will check this again after week 8 but the schedules look much more difficult now than they did before preseason.

I think you have hit on an idea. Time to break this union's back and bring in cheap Chinese labor to do it. Bring refs from China and give them about a week's worth of training. They can't be any worse than the current replacements refs and the league will save even more money that they can split among the poor owners that take all the risk running the business. The owners are barely making ends meet, what with having to use stadiums built by union labor and paid by tax payers. Might as well replace the US labor they use behind the cameras and in the concession stands while they are at it. Just think they can maximize profits while holding down warm beer prices to $10 and $5 stale popcorn. Isn't it time for the NFL to do what most of corporate America has been doing for years, source jobs from overseas, dilute your product and blame the unions for standing on principle. Heck we can then blame the Chinese for the replays we disagree with, warm beer and our national debt.

9-7 or 8-8 will win the division this year. Pats have too many holes. Jets are tough on defense but will self destruct, Bills are thin at CB and no QB. Fins are tough on defense and can run but no QB. We all play the NFC West and they are looking tough as AZ, Seattle and SF make major upgrades. Long year but we might sneak in.

Powell has a much better future and it was wrong to risk him by cutting him in the preseason. I was surprised this did not happen four weeks ago. This is also Lindell's last year, IMO. Younger more lively legs will beat out old more expensive legs. That being said, Moorman gave it everything he had for a long time.

How's Aaron Maybin been doing?
jumbalaya replied to Wayne Fontes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybin's stats are very similar to Tim Tebow passing stats. The Jets are just pi$$ing away money on these two non factors. I love it. Tebow does have 33 yards on 8 carries but is a huge bust for NY IMO. -
Bills Worked out Donte Stallworth Today

I like Alexander coming out of Missouri. Bad knees and all. He played well with the ST Lambs but did not stick with the change in regimes. Tall, fast and can catch, what's not to like? -
I prerfer a guy that continually gets the ball because he's lucky than some guy that only gets the ball when he is lucky.

Let this guy play.
