No reason for optimism on EJ as he's regressing. Trent Edwards, JP Losman and Ryan Fitzpatrick all had more going for them after their first year. The team is imploding just like they did under Chan and Dick. What a tremendous lack of leadership on all three sides of the ball (O, D and ST). Add to it a coaching staff that is in way over their head and a special teams coach that does not belong in college let alone the pro's. Brandon and Whaley brought in some decent defensive talent but through an incredible lack of effort made a poor offense worse. The D is better but by no means is it a good defense. Our WRs & TEs are the worst group in the league. Hopefully we finish at 4 & 12 and don't screw up a good draft position. We will lose Byrd to FA and have to waste a top draft pick on his replacement and have lost another chance to upgrade this team On Sunday, there was no home team advantage for Tampa as tens of thousands of Bills fan were there but this team was in chaos from the first play. The legend of Kiko is taking some hits as he blew that first tackle and has had several very poor games in a row. Overall it was simply an unprepared and unmotivated team. What a pitiful excuse for a franchise, executive staff, coaching staff and group of players.

It s irritating that we continually compare our team and players to how much less we suck than a few others. What possible gratification can you derive from that logic? From the top of this organization down to the fan base we must demand the best. The Pats demand it. Peyton Manning demands it from his organizations. We deserve it and should settle for nothing less.

The problem with having to replace Byrd is the same as every other position when we let a good player walk. We have to expend a top pick on a position that we already had filled and that leaves us with one more opening. It is a never ending cycle that destroyed this football team for over ten years. Instead of getting Oline help we will have to draft a safety or sign a high dollar less quality safety FA.

He's playing a great first half. Can't wait for him to make the big mistake that will cost his team the game. We all know it's coming.

The best we can hope for is a stadium in fort erie and a new bridge, or an international speed train to toronto's ballet clubs. The Bills fans from Canada will long for the day when the team was in Buffalo and they could afford to go to a game. It will become a corporation-only fan base as most individuals will not be able to pay the nut they will have to ask.

This is what I agree with. His sitting out did absolutely nothing for him nor this team. And then he babied that plantar for as long as he could.

EJs biggest problem is he is made of glass and cannot stay on the field. It's not very good when you only play half the games. We will have to draft another QB #1 in 2014 because we won't know what we have in this guy, except that he can't stay on the field.

There was a game early last year when Chan failed to go for it on 4th down deep in someone's territory. It appeared that he quit on the team. Same thing for Marrone, when your coach quits trying to win the team quits trying to win. We are in for an ugly finish to this abysmal season.

Anyone who thought this team was ready in 2013 or will be ready in 2014 or 2015 is nuts. In 2016 when we bring in the next new three year coach we will regain hope throughout the off-season and preseason (when our players soundly out play each other) only to be deflated after 8 weeks of crappy football.

Marone obviously does not believe winning a game this year is as important as developing EJ.

EJ reminds me of Trent Edwards. Can't throw an accurate deep ball. Can't get it to the second or third option. Breaks down and can't go a full season. Nice guy. But not a top tier NFL player.

The positives from this season: - We have a real defensive staff. This D could be something special if we get people healthy. This D could be adequate if the offense could keep them off the field. It is much more exciting than past defenses but not near special. - There are no glaring player needs on the defensive side of the ball. Other then DB, Safety and LB - Kiko may prove to be the steal of the draft. Kiko is very good but not a dominant player - The O-line is not far from being very solid. LG remains a question. It gets dominated in away games, decent in home games. - Woods looks to be the real deal as a WR. He needs more game time to mature. He looks to have potential as a very solid possession receiver. He looks like a capable #2 or 3, QB is his problem. - Marrone looks to have a grip on the team. A lot will be said relative to how hard this team plays over the balance of the season. Marone is a rookie coach and has cost this team a lot. When Hackett gets out of diapers he may become a good High School coach. There are things to build on for next year.

Johnny football, no matter what Hackett / Marone calls, he will find a way to make a play. Kinda like a guy named Flutie.

Losing, and losing consistently, is not a sign of progress. Hackett is a joke. Jauron called a better offensive game than Hackett.
