Best "Receiving Unit" in the NFL
jumbalaya replied to Chuck Wagon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My point is that the Bills WRs have done nothing to prove they are an elite unit. Nothing. Sammy is the 5th or 6th best WR in his draft class and he cost 2 first round picks. Woods is not in the top five of his draft class. Percy is on what his 5th team in 4 years? I can't keep up. Goodwin and Hogan are not even worth discussing. Yet somehow when they don the Bills uni's they are unbeatable??? They are an average WR squad nothing more. No fans believe more hype in the off season than Buffalo fans. -
The press speculates on EJ's future

Saying EJ will either be the starter or cut/traded is hardly making a good case of anything, it is intuitively obvious. -
Best "Receiving Unit" in the NFL
jumbalaya replied to Chuck Wagon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are drinking the off-season Kool Aid. Harvin is two years removed from being a force at WR. Sammy hasn't done it and his production tailed way off toward the end of last year. He hasn't shown he is a number one. Woods averages 640 yards per year and 4 TDs yet you think he is almost number 1? Until all of these guys prove something this WR corp is a paper tiger. I doubt there is a team that thinks oh man we have to stop the Bills WRs to win. Nope, they will have to stop McCoy. The Bills QB will be enough to stop the Bills WRs. -
Best "Receiving Unit" in the NFL

I agree you are a biased homer. We are not in the top 25. If during the season we find that the line has been significantly upgraded (hard to say at this point), QB play will be better (again hard to say yes to this), Sammy doesn't quit on the QB the way he quit on EJ (and that was probably justified), play calling is improved (the emphasis on the run means less touches in the passing game). At best we will have a top 20 passing game. Sammy is a good receiver, not great yet. Woods is okay, a number 3 or 4 on many teams, Percy had a down year in 2014, with Cassel, Ty or EJ tossing likelihood for better year is slim, who's our 4th Hogan or Goodwin, neither are much more than role players. Clay is better than Chandler but doesn't make that big a difference with our QBs. I'd say we are about 25th and that is being kind. -
I think we should wait until after the last day of final cuts and pick up some garbage OL guy, maybe two, and plug them into start on week 1.

Brady let's two schmucks take the fall to protect his legacy. I would up his suspension to 8 games. -

If Freddy has lost another half step he will be on the bubble. Hoping not, but i bet Pegula told the team when he stepped in earlier this year, that Freddy is to be given a chance to prove he doesn't belong.

A reasonable Deflategate analogy
jumbalaya replied to PlayoffsPlease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Throwing spitball is not analogous to deflating the football in my opinion. Umpires and opposing managers are aware of the practice, trained in trying to catch the pitcher and deal with it on the spot. The pitcher did this by himself and never pulled others into a web of conspiracy. Brady and his two ball boys worked hard to cheat. It appears no other team in the league was doing this. Andrew Luck sure wasn't. I doubt that this was the first game in which by Brady/the Pats conspired to cheat by deflating balls. The old saying holds true for both Brady & the Pats. Pats, once a cheater always a cheater. Brady, once a liar, always a liar. Lying, cover-up and being deceptive once you have been caught is what will and should hang Brady. Eight games. -
Prediction Time! What Will Tom Brady's Punishment Be?
jumbalaya replied to Dorkington's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Commish will apologize to Tom for setting the minimum pressure standard so high, acknowledge that Tom was correct in his action to set it at an appropriate level and promise never to question anything he says or does again. Tom will require that Goodell not attend any of the first 6 games of the season. -
Prediction Time! What Will Tom Brady's Punishment Be?
jumbalaya replied to Dorkington's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the coming days Tom Brady can cement his legacy in one of two ways: 1. He can continue to deny, while the NFL commish rolls hard on the two locker guys. Brady and the Patriot organization can let the locker guys take the fall for the Mighty Tom Brady. 2. Or, he can be a stand up guy, take the heat, the blame, and rightful punishment. If he chooses to let two idiots take the fall, I hope all of America loses all respect for him and his legacy. It will surely be tarnished and he can go to hell. If he stands up and protects the two morons that helped him cheat, he will save a lot of face and we can all forgot about this incident and move on once he comes back. Sadly, I believe he will listed to owner Kraft and his agent and let the two guys take the fall. Otherwise, he would have come clean already. In which case, here's hoping Dareus breaks Brady's leg in week 2. Jim Kelly would never have sacrificed two nobody's for something he did.. -

No Gilmore?

Collins -- Glenn -- Wood -- Incognito -- Henderson

The Marching bands represent their schools not the Bills, that is pretty freaking clear. The Jills represent the Bills. It is more than obvious that the claim made by the Jills is both a valid claim and one that should include the NFL. Under Goodell a team can do nothing without approval from League HQ, unless you are Jimmy Jones or Robert Kraft.

Kiper Jr. - 'Bills draft was the WORST of all 32 teams.'
jumbalaya replied to #34fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Time will tell if it was the worst draft. Objectively it looks like we overpaid for Sammy and that cost us. The rest of the Bills draft was exceedingly boring. Who knows if that's good bad or indifferent. -
Speed Kills Except for the Bills that We Draft
jumbalaya replied to patfitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Leodis' early problems were with his brain. He has been very good once he learned the position. If Darby is a just little smarter than Loedis, which i don't think is that hard, he will be great. -

If Flutie started vs Tennessee, Bills win as Music City miracle would not have happened. If Bills win, we'd crush Jax the following week and make the SB. Flutie wins the SB as our D shuts down the Rams. if, if, if.... -

Espn NFL Nation reporters predict 5-11 season for Bills
jumbalaya replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Another way to look at the 5-11 prediction is that we will have a first round pick next year and we will not be irrelevant in the draft talk like we are this year. The Bills best season is always the off season.
