So....who were the rest of the receivers in these lists?
-
The group of receivers you included around those players were not from their rookie years. Now you're moving the goal posts and making a different point. Not to mention, the years Kupp and St. Brown were drafted, their teams were coming off of 4 and 3 win seasons. The expectations weren't nearly as high as ours are.
-
Kupp, St. Brown and Kelce were proven commodities as #1 receiving options. Putting complimentary pieces around those players at least has some logic to it. We're putting all of our hopes in Shakir and Kincaid taking big steps forward and for Coleman to have a big rookie year.
-
That's literally why people are so frustrated. That's not an impressive group of receivers. Coleman did not do any agility drills at the combine. Maybe you're referring to his 10 yard split, which wasn't even the fastest

One could argue the entire WR room is nothing but jags -
We've reached EJ Manuel level of mental gymnastics to try and convince ourselves he's going to be good. Watching his targets and catches, this kid consistently has DBs draped all over him.
-
No, not at all.
-
He is fun to listen to. Kid says all the right things and will be a fan favorite if he can make plays to help this team win.

Stand up rush LBer similar to Von. Could be a sleeper pick -
So we'll have Kincaid, Coleman, Shakir and Samuel all in the slot? We are revolutionizing offense

Dependable C at UGA. I like the value here -
Bizarre. I bet he can't wait to pick Justin Shorter's brain and learn all that he can from him
-
it's not even the fact that we drafted another RB in the 4th. The dude is old and is going to see his rookie contract and that's it.
-
We plucked Ty Johnson off the streets and he was a productive back behind Cook.
-
No. Ty Johnson has earned that spot right now
-
He'll be 25 in November. I don't see why Beane is obsessed with RBs this early.

A 4th round punter is hilarious -

Our WR room is 100% not better. That's utterly ridiculous. -

I genuinely hate the KC comparison. We don't have one of the greatest offensive minds in history developing our offense. At least KC had Kelce who admittedly is on the tail end of his career but still draws a lot of attention from opposing defenses. I don't see anyone on our roster doing that right now. You think Shakir will be a 1,000 yard receiver? Because that's top 30 WR territory. Id be surprised if that were to happen. I think there's going to be a lot of growing pains on offense now that we're putting a lot of pressure on young players to pick up the slack left behind. -

What's a great season for Shakir exactly? I think people are overating him a lot right now. Samuel will be what Samuel has always been which is a guy who will probably get 600-800 yards with some gadget plays sprinkled in and a handful of TDs. Our offense is objectively worse right now and I don't see anyone on day 3 changing things -

Game changing players aren't needed? Where would we be if we didn't trade for Diggs and instead relied on John Brown, Beasley and Gabe to be our top 3 WRs? We are worse than that right now.
